    I develop Adobe Air (for Android) application that is designed to be constantly turned on. App has operations based event. However, when the phone goes to sleep mode app is able to perform only one or a few events in a second which is not good enough. AIR SystemIdleMode.KEEP_AWAKE - mode is not an alternative because it is too consuming battery.

    I am looking for a solution when the phone is allowed to enter the mode 'sleep' (screen is off), but still the CPU performance are not radically fallen. Not sure Android part wakelock-mode does the job and is available through DONKEY?

    What type of event you are missing to be able to manipulate during sleep? According to the documentation from Adobe AIR decreases the rate of 4 frames per second when it is moved to the background or becomes inactive. Im guessing that the screen, disabling account in this respect and that is probably a reason as to why you have found only a few events a second, but I can't say for sure without knowing what type of event you use. In regards Android PowerManager WAKE_LOCK function, Google documentation says that you should not use this API unless you absolutely, and if you have to use it, you use it and do with it as soon as possible as long as this hurts API independence (they have same "BOLD" the part about the battery life). What you try to do that requires that the app is always on? More details can help myself or others provide other options to accomplish what you are trying to do. If you must use the PowerManager, you should be able to create a DONKEY to turn on and off the WAKE_LOCK mode, but could only help the side Android/Java things and you might need to move your event handling during the side of things because Java application of AIR will be always abandoned at 4 frames per second when the screen turns off.

    I currently have problems to install the latest version of HTC Sync software. I went down to what is a Windows / Adobe AIR collide. When I open the application HTC Sync, I get this error message "this application requires a version of Adobe AIR, which can not be found", I went to Adobe.com and download the latest version of Adobe AIR... 2.5

    When I try to install it I get this error message "an error has occurred during installation.  An error occurred during the installation of Adobe AIR, Installation will not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator. "I get this message even when I try to uninstall the current version also.

    I am the only user on this computer (Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)) and I am registered as an administrator.

    Logitech Video (LVPrcSrv.exe) driver is known to cause problems with the installation of the runtime. If the application is loaded, complete the process by selecting it from the Windows Task Manager.

    Check with adobe if they have Adobe AIR uninstaller to uninstall.

    Or, try this step: (to install Adobe AIR)

    (a) make a shortcut of the executable Adobe AIR installer.
    (b) right click on the executable, go to properties, click on the "shortcut" tab
    (c) in the 'Target' field, add "-Uninstall" (without quotes) at the end of the existing text.
    (d) run the file, and Adobe AIR is really uninstalled this time.
    (e) now run the original installation file to install the program.

    When I try to open an Adobe Acrobat file, I get a message 'homeless' and it does not open.

    Go to start / / Default programs / associate a file or Protocol with a program / and highlight the file type that you want to open (and what this file type?).  What is the default program to open this type of file and which is the program suitable for use.  If this is not the case, click on edit and see if the correct program is listed.  If not, click Browse and locate the executable file for defaullt program program, it is recommended to use, select that and replace the default for that file type.  Now, these types of files will be opened with the specified default program.

    Remember, you can not read/open a file sent to you, simply because it was sent.  What email program are you using (name and version) and you can download and open other files without problems?  You need a program on your computer to open this type of file, and must be associated with this type of file as shown above.

    I don't know what it means "a message from homeless.  Please post the EXACT Word for Word error message.

    If you get this program by e-mail, copy the file to your desktop and see if you can open it from there.  If not, open the program that is supposed to be able to open that file type and click on File / Open and navigate to the file on the desktop and try opening it from within the program.
