  The icons you describe are not traditional icons in Windows 8. They are symbols of police that are contained in the default Segoe UI symbol font.

  The fonts you have installed may have caused the problem.

  You have probably changed the screen resolution.

  Go into control panel of BONES for display and change resoultion on something other than 150.  Say 149 or 151.  Weird huh?
