Michael Kossar: Concept of 32-bit and 64-bit

I'm Michael kossar, I heard the term 32-bit and 64-bit machine, but what is the concept behind it? Please explain my question.

I suggest to buy a 64-bit computer.

  • Concept of the association and authentication?

Hello, hope someone can enlighten me on that.  We have a WLC 5508 with some WAP (1131 and 1242).  Our wireless clients using Basic authentication against our AD certificate (i.e. the computer cert and cert user are required).  However, from time to time I see customers being linked but not authenticated as reported by the WLC.  Would it be possible, as indicated by some literature that a customer can be "associated with" after it is successfully authenticated?  Maybe I'm not quite clear on the concept.  Thanks in advance.

    Eric

    Hi Eric,.

    Clear as mud isn't

I like to think of it that way, in the library on our campus

There are hundreds of students more use laptop computers. If we look at the AP

in this area, we could see 120 Associations for example, but we can only see 65

Authentications. In this case are associated with laptops 55 users but not gone

    through the authentication process.

    Here is the explanation of Cisco;

    The Wireless Client Association

In the process of customer binding, access points send tags announcing one or more SSID, flow of data and other information. The client sends a probe and scans all channels and listening responses to probes from the access roads and tags. The customer joins AP that has the strongest signal. If the signal becomes weak, the client repeats the scan to associate with another access point (this process is called roaming). During the association, the SSID, MAC address, and security settings are sent from the client to the access point and verified by the access point. Figure 3-6 illustrates the process of customer liaison.

Figure 3-6 Association of the customer

Association of the wireless to a selected access point client actually is the second step in a two-step process. First of all, authentication, then association must occur before a 802.11 client can pass traffic through the access point to another host on the network. The authentication of the client in this initial process is not the same as the network authentication (enter username and password for access to the network). The client authentication is simply the first step (followed by association) between the wireless client and the access point, and it establishes communication. The 802.11 standard specifies that two different authentication methods: open authentication and shared key authentication. Open authentication is simply the exchange of four packages of type "hello" without verification of client or access, to allow ease of connectivity. Shared key authentication uses a key defined static WEP, known between the client and access point, for verification. This same key might or might not be used to encrypt the data passing between a wireless client and an access point according to the configuration of the user.

  • concept between MS SQL and Oracle

Hi, everyone, I'm very new to Oracle. Read a few books and confused about some basic concepts:
in the world of MS SQL, you can install several INSTANCE on a physical server, in each INSTANCE, you can create multiple databases, each DATABASE has it is the log data\transaction the disk file.

In the Oracle world, my understanding is, INSTANCE = structure memory + the physical database file (which is about identifying MS SQL). similar to MS SQL, you can have multiple INSTANCEs on each physical server. but who is the "DATABASE" in the oracle world? The closest I think is TABLESPACE. I can assign one or more physical data for each TABLESPACE files. but all the TABLESPACE set the log to roll forward inside the same undo TABLESPACE? In addition, for each application, I need to create one or more table SPACE inside an INSTANCE (it's what I usually do in MS SQL)?

Thank you for your help. Please forgive me if my question is stupid.

Please forgive me if my question is stupid.

Firs of all, your questions are not stupid at all. You can get better understand by defining analogies and comparisons with a product, with that you're familiar with one product. I used the same method when I learned about MS SQL comparing it with Oracle.

    So, welcome aboard the Oracle!

in the world of MS SQL, you can install several INSTANCE on a physical server,

You can have multiple instances of Oracle, belonging to the same or a House of Oracle on the same physical machine.

within each INSTANCE, you can create multiple databases

In the Oracle instance, you can have only one database. That's how it is.

each DATABASE has it is the log data\transaction the disk file.

Even in MS SQL there may be several files of data per database.

    >

    >
    Yes

    >
but who is the "DATABASE" in the oracle world? The closest I think is TABLESPACE. I can assign one or more physical data for each TABLESPACE files. but all the TABLESPACE set the log to roll forward inside the same undo TABLESPACE?
    >
Here is little similarity between the Oracle TABLESPACE and the MS SQL database.
In MS SQL Database has not only the files associated with it, it has its own security and piece of data dictionary. It can have its own rating, you can detach an instance and attach to the other, you can save some separately, etc...
I'd say MS DB's unit "autonomous and self-containing", comparing to Oracle TS.
Oracle TS is a way to organize the data files and definition some default of the common properties of storage for tables and other segments contained in TS.
TS of Oracle have no separate security and data dictionary. Normally TS can be spare an instance and attached to the other. However, there is a special type of TS - transportable tablespace, which can be seen as a little more closely what is DB Ms.
In any case Oracle TS is not even close to MS DB.
And he does not need to be. It has a completely different purpose.

In addition, for each application, I need to create one or more table SPACE inside an INSTANCE (it's what I usually do in MS SQL)?

You don't have to. But you better to do this way, a point of view organization data. To make things look well organized.
Sometimes a single application can use multiple TS, for example when he needs different block size for some tables.
Also, you can share Costs between multiple applications, as you can do with MS DB.

    What else is different?
There is no separation between the connections and users in Oracle db. It is an entity - USER. He has his security settings and can have its database objects.

In Oracle, can only be a single scheme by the user, even named as a user. Basically it's the same thing - user and schema is the same thing and created and managed by the same CREATE/ALTER USER command.
However, when we talk about storage and a place where objects belong to we say SCHEMA.
When we talk about security and the owner where the objects belong to-we say USER. :)
Schema is like Home in OS users. What the user creates belongs to his 'home' - the schema. And the user is the owner of it.
If a user creates something of the other schema this thing belongs to the than the other schema and that another user will be owner, not the user who calls the CREATE statement.

However, a user can change the current schema for the current session, for do not implicitly by specifying another schema as a prefix for the objects in this schema to another.
    CONNECT scott
    SELECT * FROM joe.emp;
    ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA = joe;
    SELECT * FROM emp;

In MS SQL schemas are more like directories, there may be objects of different users in the same pattern and the same user in different schemas.

In Oracle, there are DB that is similar to the linked server connection.
When it is called, DB Link is specified after the name of the object, separated by @.
    SELECT * FROM emp@anotherDB;

    That's the main differences.

Oh yes, Oracle is a release management engine, and MS SQL's engine block, but it can be anything from the latter.

  • Open the characteristics of Michael Ferrante on forms 12 c :) and some c omplaints

I had seen that he's open to talk about new features, but I think that most of the oracle forms is not very well defined, and maybe someone want some comment on that.

Hello Michale Ferrante I have some questions for you.

I am a certified oracle developer forms and oracle database and our company has worked with oracle, more than ten years ago.

    (1) the design and the niche in the market that Oracle Forms and the need for advanced graphic features

I remember a beta version of forms, I think that it was 3.2, it has all the features to move and draw on the screen, and for some oracle of reason which rejected, and I think it was OK under the strategy of a client database, this isn't a software to make the games.

But as time passes, the customer needs more features visual, I must acknowledge the work of François Degrelle in forms look and feel project .

Most of the software in large companies are now client server, and they have too many mobile client software and others that requires the features of high graphics, from one screen to buy items, to a customer of entertainment to marketing.

In the example: you have a restaurant, they want in an ipad, a menu, and you want to do in the form of oracle, here is where oracle has a big hole.

This includes of course more functions for working with media types, such as audio in the database, video in the database, audio and video from other sources, like youtube, etc.

    (2) the positioning of oracle forms againt other products oracle, oracle should give a clear positioning of all products related to oracle forms and how they incorporate.

Oracle has proposed new products, such as adf, apex, etc. and is not only my perception, much thought customer oracle forms would be replaced, but they can't because the idea of oracle is an easy tool for development and in theory with more features (it's the reason why you should have to pay more than 20,000 per customer)

But personally, I see that I do not see BETTER in the product.

Customers need a clear vision of how the oracle introduces their different tools in example, specifically oracle must decide where is oracle in this net of product development, client of Mr. If you want to develop, forms oracle is why adf this apex for that, for this java, etc. instead of presenting a confusing set of products ,

Oracle gives messages are confusing, that is the reason why many customers thought oracle forms would be abandoned and they MUST migrate to adf, this message that I saw too much while reading about adf.

If coupled with additional confusion with previous development of sun products, Oracle must order their ideas and show a structure of the tools in the suite, which is full, which makes sense, instead of "we have all the tools of development of this, study and choose one, and good luck."

    (3) improvement of the editor

no more comments, just update the form with all editor the Editor doesn't like any other software.

    (4) new and interesting ideas, a real change of attitude of the oracle and oracle reports developer

I think the additional graphics functionality, clarity in the relationship of forms with other products, and improvements in the editor are obvious.

then comes something new and interesting forms oracle could present, no necessary to what the current client does, if not for the new procedures, for example a great app for ipads, a generator of models of various boxes,.

I said something big, because until now, I had seen oracle is a tool of gray, all other tools, delphi, visual studio, adf, etc. has several very interesting improvements, but forms oracle moves like a turtle in this way, as living separated from the jurisdiction of the market development tools.

    It's like a wake-up CALL

    (5) to separate the teams of developing forms and oracle reports.

The reason is to offer a less expensive product, and because for reports, there are cheapersolutions, plain html pages to free software as reports of jasper.

It is is important to separate development of oracle reports and forms of the oracle team, he moves to make it really better justify the investment and the reports to be considered as an independent product compatible with other oracle products.

In example, perhaps you could add as a solution at the apex, not only to print pdf reports.

    (6) the graphical component lost and optional free projects open (requiring the license of oracle forms-based of course)

graph of Oracle Server customer oracle 6i, has several problems, but in a moment lost, idon't see nowadays too dificult to make a graphic really nice editor, oracle forms could make a free graphics project.

Oracle Forms should motivate in an organized system, the developer of forms oracle to use and improve open components, it is 1) good items you need and should install 2) the elements of ther o based on ideas, you may find it useful in some way at the same time they develop to become an interesting compoennt and move to the Group 1).

    (7) the albums of other development oracle technologies Integrator

Oracle Forms, especially for the price, I think that should be the High option and integrate all the other tools of development, it is, you can use free apex or essential to the adf, but if you want more, then purchase a license of the adf, if you want more then buy forms oracle, something like that.

Think of this form of Oracle idea should be somehow integrated with jheadstart.

Once you do this, then the oracle development tools will make sense, instead the attitude oracle currently has to "choose all these development tools, we have and good luck."

In this idea, and then force to buy oracle reports might be a good idea, because it comes to the top of every thing, the best more than adf and apex, java, etc.

    (8) specialists in the oracle database

These are the oracle forms is something important, a client for oracle, so it should support all the features of oracle databas, e this includes the posibility

software sincronize with versions of oracle database,

return of flame, etc. should be part of counter, create environments to test and restore the backups.

It's don't forget Oracle their first venture is the database and their tools should complement technologies in the database.

    (9) the new age of basic developed compoements

Anyone who wants to start a business must program all the fundamentals, it's exhange management, user management, etc..

I've suggested previously to oracle is to create a software base (database, developer and reports), free, so you can take them and start over, this should include basci funcions to manage basic safety features such as creating a user, the user of the monitor, etc basic functionality for enterprise software, etc., clob, number, date.

It is doing something no one had done.

    hope to be useful

Thank you very much for your comments and dedication to the product.  We appreciate all the ideas and comments.

I wanted to comment on some things you said.

"... the need for... advanced graphic features. »

Years, Oracle Forms had a sister product called Oracle Graphics.  It was a product that gave you the ability to create almost any kind of graphics or graphics that your creative mind could imagine.  However, in my opinion, it was very difficult and tedious to use.  For various reasons, Oracle has decided to stop manufacturing and chart support a long time ago.  I suspect part of the reason for the abandonment of the product was that with today's web deployed forms, add your own graphics features are easy enough using Java Beans or even product Oracle BI-haricots.

"... "This includes of course more functions to work with media types... »

We are planning to add that support in future versions of some media.  Exactly what version or what types of media is yet to be determined.  Development is currently studying the best approach for implementing such features.  But as for tracing, add your own support via a Java Bean is simple enough and for people who are not very well informed in Java, there are many free examples available on the Internet.  This example should provide an excellent starting point.

"... Client of Mr. If you want to develop, oracle forms is present, adf to do this, apex to do this, for that, etc. instead of presenting a confusing the value of products, java... »

If you read a part, documentation each product (General presentation documents), you will see that, at a high level already do.  Explain us what the product, how it works, some of his strengths, etc.  However, it would be impossible for any vendor to tell you exactly which tool you use for your specific job.  We/they can offer an opinion, but exactly what you're using, it's a decision that you must make based on several factors.  For example, you talked about a restaurant.  You can build an application that is used to take orders in the forms or ADF.  Either will do the job.  In most cases, which will make you choose one over the other is the skill value available to accomplish the task.  If your organization does not have a single Java developer, but it has several pl/sql developers, then choosing ADF maybe not the best choice.  In this case, the forms can be the best choice.  Alternatively, you can recycle your existing developers, you can hire new employees who know Java or ADF or hire a third party to help you develop the application in the ADF.  Again, only you can answer these questions.

It's no different than any other product.  Consider Microsoft Visual Studio.  I can use almost any technology throughout (VB, C++, c#, etc.) to build an application that performs the same tasks.  But if I don't know C++ (for example), why should I choose to use C++ if the application will accomplish the same task in the end?  I'd rather the product know my team.  An exception could be if some other technologies offers a feature not found in the other.  For example, with the ADF, you can easily access on mobile devices.  But even this can be overcome with Forms.  For example with the use of Oracle Partner, AuraPlayerof the product, you can use your existing form request to expose web services to mobile applications without having to change your code to forms.

In short, we intend to add many new features for future versions of the forms.  Exactly what they will be always plans even though many have already been implemented for the next version.  For some people, the changes we present can be considered to be a much-needed change, and for others, they may feel that the amendments add little value.  It is always difficult to make everyone happy.  I hope that soon (I don't know exactly at what time yet) you will be able to meet up with me at various conferences around the world (Open World, WORLD, DOAG, etc) where I will introduce our new items for the new version of forms.  If all goes well, most of you will appreciate the hard work that Oracle Forms developers have put in updates for the next future releases.  We have a very dedicated team of developers who work on a regular basis to ensure that you can easily upgrade with confidence.

    Thanks again for your comments!

  • IDOC equivalent Script PHP $_POST and $_GET

I did a few shallow Google research on this issue and I turned up without relevant discussions.

I know that Idoc was probably not designed to allow such client-server interactions, but query to the server and receive answers would greatly stimulate my development capabilities without having to develop custom components.

No, the concept is a bit different.  No matter if the variable is in the query string (' $_GET ') or in a form field (' $_POST '), once it is passed to the content server, it is all present in the local data.  One thing to know is that several variables with the same name are met ('name' is your case), said the last instance of the variable is located in the local data.

    To convert this

    If ($_POST ["name"] == "Bob") {}

    echo "Hello, Bob."

    else {}

  • BOOTMGR is compressed. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart__But when I do the same message appears and now my netbook won't start.

I'm not a computer whizz and now I fear I can have made a big mistake when I thought I was doing something safe.

So here's the story, I wanted to do a little more space on my drive hard because I don't have but a small memory netbook. After the usual cleaning disc and other things, I also saw a tick box option to compress all the files and folders on the c: / drive. I checked this box and everything was fine until I stop and it works even today.

As soon as the first image - the HP logo disappears (with instructions following key below '= change Boot Device Order' and '= ' configuration Options of the BIOS) I get a black screen with the following script in the upper right:

"BOOTMGR is compressed"... and below, «press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart»

However, when I do restart, nothing chages and I come back to the same message over and over. I think its pretty obvious that my 'sting' autour potentially screwed up things good and clean and I would be very grateful if someone knows how to solve my problem and what to do. I tried to study the question, already and so far, I think I might have to reinstall windows, but when I bought this netbook, windows has been installed for me so I did not drive. I don't even have a hard drive anyway. I also read on the windows troubleshooting pages who put the pressing F8 repeatedly until 'start it again from the last record in the point' etc options but it did not work either... unless I'm doing it wrong.

I hope I gave enough information above so that someone is able to help. Thank you for your time and I'll look forward all the answers and I hope that the answer.

This is a popular problem with computers HP they have written an article about this (in other words, what happens often):

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&DocName=c01872275

Compression is not a bad thing, but in the world where the disk storage is cheap usually not worth - you just buy more storage or maintenance disk Dome (remove things).  Compression can actually slow down the performance of your system too.  I think it's just sort of a vestige of the old days and can have negative consequences today.

Using the HP article, you can repair your system in seconds after getting into the Recovery Console.

There is a similar problem with systems not HP where the ntldr file may get compressed and solve it is a little different, but the concept is the same and only takes a few seconds to fix.

You will not engage in any kind of Mode safe either.

Enter the Recovery Console may be the biggest challenge.

You have a genuine XP bootable installation CD?  This is not the same as any type of System Recovery CD which might come with your system.  If you do not, you will need to make a bootable CD from Recovery Console by using a system of work - or physically move your HARD drive to a system that works, repair and put back.

Your system model number not specified there a CD player?

Please vote my posts as helpful so I can get a lot of points. I'm saving for a pony! Everybody don't like Raymond.

  • Windows XP registered and activated properly, but said that I need to activate after reboot

    Hello

I just installed Windows XP on my computer and registret and what he does normally active. Then I installed the first update from the Download Center and restarted normally. When I searched for the next major update she said I have to vertify my windows XP again. I followed the link he provides and gets an open white window and nothing happens (it had spend half an hour).

Just found out through the update automatically I can always get updates. Everything would be easier here at the beginning with the Download Center.

    Michael

Please check your locale, and then the clock/date settings - they are not synchronized with the server.

  • Header and footer in a sensitive master page

    Hello

Is there a better method to set headers and footers on an existing master page, which has multiplied the breakpoints?

Method 1... If I set the header/footer on a breakpoint, the adjustment is only on this breakpoint, so I have to drag all them breakpoint individually, which can lead to mistakes I've made.

Method 2... remove all headers/feet reset breakpoints, and then add breakpoints.

Also a header/footer value is adjustable from the keyboard instead of drag?

    Thank you very much

    Gary

Drag is the only way to set a value of footer

I begins at conception (phone) most small and work up, but I know others who like to start with top so its up to you... IMO a footer | header with more than two elements each seems cluttered but again its your design.

  • Site of scroll a Page with anchors and a bar of navigation with submenus

    Hello

I create a site with scroll one page anchors.

Now, I want to have a navigation bar with submenus, i.g. navigation leads to 'projects', but within projects I need 6 submenus for each project.

How can I achieve this Muse?

    Thank you

    Michael

Create a menu manual and a link to the anchors.

    Library/Menus/Horizontal Widget

In the Options offset the screen: Menu Type: manual

Mark each box of the menu you create and bind to specific anchor.

Consult this section of a site that I created that mimics what you want to do:

  • What happens when you insert/modify/delete a row in a table - concepts

I am trying to understand the below concepts regarding the internal concepts (for example, undo and redo)

    (1) what is happening in the database when you insert a row in a table?

    (2) what is happening in the database when you update a row in a table?

    (3) what is happening in the database when you remove one line in the table?

I have read the oracle documentation and mistook the redo and undo behavior. It would be great if someone explains the concept in a simple way.  I'm a novice programmer to understand database concepts. Any help would be much appreciated.

INSERTIONS and deletions are handled the same way.  The cancellation of an INSERT is a DELETE.   The cancellation of a REMOVAL is an INSERT.

Therefore, the generation 'Cancel' for INSERTION is less than that of a DELETION (because the cancellation of a DELETION is to reinsert the line - the value of each column in the row must be captured in the undo).

If restore you an INSERT, then Oracle executes effectively a DELETE tablename WHERE rowid =... rowid_that_was_inserted.  A cancellation for an INSERTION is 'rapid '.

If restore you a DELETION, then Oracle executes effectively an INSERT tablename values (col1, col2, coln).  The cancellation of a DELETION takes more time because Oracle would have to re-enter the values.

Remember that Oracle also captures the redo to undo it (and do it again for the price drop if you do a restore).

  • The hierarchy of Concept provides all of the features beyond research opportunities?

All types of specifications contain two fields in "approved for use in": Concept and GSM Business Unit. We have activated the GSM BU security on our 6.1.0.1 facilities and are looking for additional controls between groups of users, workflow (terms), the expansion of the BU values, etc.

I'm trying to estimate if the values of the Concept provide safe behavior control or workflow. So far, I have nothing affecting awareness Concept found a spec to all features except searchable EQT. Y at - it is not its place in PLM4P that the Concept can be used for conditional access / observation of objects spec?

    Thank you.

It's just a secondary taxonomy, you can use to categorize where your specifications can be used. For example, some clients, you can not think of approved for use by a simple flat list of countries instead of this, they think using a more complex view of the taxonomy.

For example, a customer of catering service can have 3 types of stores. You may designate that a material can be used in the type of restaurant A against coffee.

Your products and how you define where they are licensed to be used will really define this list. You can divide it into all the concepts you want to and even add countries as nodes under them.

This will be tested, but I believe you can also have mixed approaches. A type spec watch concept while the other shows the country.

Called stored procedures what and where?

If, with a layer of app such as Java or .net, then they do not distinguish between weak and strong ref Cursor - because it is a concept of PL/SQL.

And by using a ref cursor type in PL/SQL is intended to provide a mechanism to pass the handle of real cursor SQL cursor created in this session, the client (for example Java or .net). Nothing more. So, why even care that PL/SQL? a weak or strong Ref to the application layer slider

so please tel me what is the best in terms of performance and maintainability above three conditions?

I find always frustrating that there is this concept that some methods to create cursors, results in faster and better than other methods, the sliders. It is a concept of bs. All SQLs are analyzed as a SQL cursors. Each. Unique. One. By the SAME CBO.

If the client code (Java, PL/SQL or other) you write for this SQL cursor DOES NOT change the source SQL.

This therefore does not cause the CBO now compile a different SQL execution plan for her. The CBO does not care if your code uses a strong Ref Cursor or a weak Ref Cursor, or a slider DBMS_SQL, an explicit cursor, or whatever. Those are concepts of customer. And do not change the execution plan of cursor SQL on the server. Or its planned performance/cost.

Yes, your client code (Java, PL/SQL, etc.) can use the SQL cursor on the server-side evil - and this can affect performance.

But waiting for a weak Ref cursor will somehow cause a faster cursor or slower for the same SQL statement, that a strong Ref cursor is not understanding what SQL cursor is, and how the customer interacts with its data types, the classes of customers and its customer interfaces with this SQL cursor.

  • Error page and context of Sys

    Hello

In our application, we began to implement a concept of multi-org and to facilitate this, we use the "Code PL/SQL to initialize" section of the application.

Our first attempt seemed to work well, however, we encountered a problem where it seems that the way in which the context is defined makes a difference. So my main question is, what is the correct way to declare it and use contexts for application multi-org by Apex?

For further information, see the demo here http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=53151 use demo/demo as login information. Then two sets of drop down select a command, ignore the client, then select a command element (do not match between the top and bottom of the examples). If you press the "Press me" submit button, you will see that the background a lack the command drop-down list of values, but the upper works. The only difference in the example below, is that the context in the second example is defined as:
    CREATE OR REPLACE CONTEXT ssl_org_ctx2 using tfn_org_context_pkg2 accessed globally;
The reason to declare me as 'accessible in the world' was due to [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/network.112/e16543/app_context.htm#CIHFJHCG] examples here that ICS should be configured this way.

As this doesn't seem to work but report it without the 'accessible in the world' don't, what is the right way to be declaring contexts to be used at the Apex?

    Thank you very much

    Gareth.

With the second method, as I understand it, there is no process to automatically clear unused session variables...

You are right. DBMS_SESSION.clear_context can be added to logout, but there is no guarantee, he ran, in most cases, the user closes the browser just. You have to implement something to record the date of the session and access then the House clean with dbms_session.clear_context a job. APEX_APPLICATIONS. MAXIMUM_SESSION_LIFE_SECONDS could be a starting point to determine if you need to clear the context.

Or is it a such small overhead that it's not worth worrying?

Is learning at the edge of what I know about the context, but if you have something that can consume memory until a reboot, I only cleaned.
