How to start Microsoft defender manually?

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I have attached a link on Windows Defender.  It shows how to start manually and fix any problems.  Please let me know if this helped, or if the problem is resolved.

    Hello
My product is a trial version limited to McFee which I won't take the complete package
Therefore need to install other protections
I need Microsoft defender light but it is blocked for manufacturing, says ' Windows defender is stopped and not your surveillance system "with no option to turn it on
So I need to be able to turn it back on - please can you help me?

To enable Windows defender should not be that complicated.
Remove McAffe preinstalled system if you want to use (license).
After that, place your mouse at the bottom right of your screen and click on search and type Windows Defender.
When the program appears on the left side of your screen, right-click on it, and then click Run as administrator. Then, Windows Defender must be open.

In my case I have to install the latest update to all first and after updating Windows Defender installation was ONE.

    Cynthia;

Application of Microsoft Windows Defender security lights as part of the Vista and Windows 7 operating system, and it can be downloaded and installed also no charge on XP systems.  Given that you have encountered a request for a subscription to an application called "Microsoft Defender" paid one year, it is without doubt a scam if I understand:

  • Microsoft Defender and a rent to own PC commando

I managed to install a version of Norton Internet Security 90 days, although it was not easy with Windows Defender, which hinder the process, even when turned off. I still get messages indicating a Commando of Microsoft Defender blocked the installation of some files which eventually prevents another Norton product installation. The reason is that files duplicate files it uses for protection, but I thought that it has been disabled. When I search a defender of Microsoft , there is no result.
Why is gives me this warning if it is disabled , and how do I proceed and install what I want to install?

I hope that it is coming in your first query for this topic, not days after the suggestions and reading it does mine. Many practical tips and questions have been answered here in this thread for Microsoft Defender Commando. See the thread where seems to be the first request on this issue. HE READ FIRST, THEN READ THIS.

Yes it's true about the rental PC and still have/had on a contract. Inaccuracies or changes made since the last message was published are large and numerous. Just so everyone knows who may be followed, is currently following my, or recently ran across this thread:
    1. as a result, THIS SOFTWARE IS that I read on! It is strangely quiet. You must click on past a warning each time you start or reboot the PC. Obviously the money well spent for the protection of property.

    2. provides geolocation information (after informing you) back to the parent company for the protection of the goods if you attempt to deposit on the contract.

3 can lock you / make the PC unusable for you, until the debt is paid.

4 YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to MAKE THE PROGRAMMING REMOVED ONCE THE CONTRACT IS.

There have been changes since the original message (you can find them HERE) here in 2011, as legal action and regulation in 2012. And more HERE. And judgments/final orders, if you're curious, HERE:

As noted in the post previous Defender Commando of Microsoft isn't a Microsoft program.
The computer you are using is probably a computer leased or rented at any given time.
You reformat before you install Windows 8?

  • Microsoft Defender is blocking the start of digital line (DLG.exe) by Avanquest Software detection

    Hello

I use professional Vista as the operating system of my laptop.  Recently - specifically, since having started using COMCAST (cable TELEVISION) - provided internet service - I started having a condition of starting Windows in which Windows Defender gives notice it blocks a program from starting.  IDs Defender this program as: DLG.exe (Digital Line Detection), an application digitally signed by Avanquest Software.  He seems to have been (manufacturer?) installed in my computer (IBM Thinkpad/Lenovo) to 14/03/2008.  Path: C:\program files line detect\DLG.exe.  Since this notification Defender is new to me, please advise me - if you can - if it is a plu program allowed to run, its function, or if I should simmply withdraw from start-up operations to eliminate the constant defender notifications.

Thank you for your consideration and support.  Feel free to contact me if you need additional details.

    With the best regards,.

  • Why my Microsoft Defender is down (turned off) automatically?

Every time I see in my action center that there is a problem that windows defender is stopped and I have to turn on manually always and I checked his settings and also some of my updates cann't be installed even after their solution by their error code from the reference.

    Hello

You use security as Microsoft Security Essentials software on your computer?

If so, you should uninstall the security software and check if the same problem persists.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

You only need to run an antivirus at a time, running two or more anti-virus cause problem and error in the system. If you use MSE Windows Defender will be disabled to avoid conflict with MSE. A few other anti-virus companies also disable MSE to prevent conflicts with their Anti-Spyware.

I also suggest to run the auditor of file system (CFS), parse and check if that helps. System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.

To do this, refer to the article below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Hope that helps.

Let us know the status and we will be happy to help you with any other queries or questions.

AntiVir 9 includes a component of spy software, which means that when you install Windows Defender must have become invalid.
Thus, Windows Defender is not necessary and will not update.

    HI RJ.

If it's only 2 weeks, you probably don't have much new data on this subject yet or the original backup is always available or you could save something new to a disk or drive flash or something.  I would say then restore you to factory conditions and see if that fixes the problem.  If this isn't the case, then SOMETHING is installed from the factory setting and we just need to know what it is.  But one step at a time.  I very, very rarely recommend a restore to fresh from the factory as something close to the first step, but at 2 weeks, it is probably the best choice here.  This means start over again with all the updates, program installations, configurations, networked and everything - and restore backups, if necessary - but that should help determine if it is part of the installation in factory or something that happened since and disappears once restore you.  If it is an infection, this should remove.  If it is a program, then if it appears again, we will proceed as follows (which is also how to suggest you do now if you are not ready to do a factory restore).

If you are not willing to try something this radical yet, it's very well.  Download Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and he can tell you what programs are installed that do not seem to appear otherwise.  If none look like our guilty, then download Revo: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html and use it to remove the program completely.  Then see if that solves the problems.  In the meantime, I'll take look closer this particular model.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Windows Defender alerts to send firefox.exe to microsoft after upgrade to 16.0.2

Windows Defender has posted a message in the center of maintenance of Windows with a title "review the files that Windows Defender will send to Microsoft (Important).

It shows a popup message that informs that Windows Defender should do a presentation type of following files:
    "Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe".
    "Mozilla Firefox\plugin - container.exe.

This happens in my desktop PC (Win 7 x 64 Ultimate SP1) and in my computer laptop (Windows 7 SP1 for x 64 homepage), the difference being that in the case of the laptop computer, an additional file should be reported i.e. "Mozilla Maintenace Service\maintenanceservice_tmp.exe.

Hello shadownate, I think it's a normal process when you are a Member of CARDS (Service of Protection of Microsoft Active) and chose to communicate information about the unknown applications. where microsoft defender is supplied in a version of the application that does not appear in the ms database ' again (which might well be the case for firefox executable immediately after an update), they download the file and analyze it - that's how they collect new information to create signatures from unknown threats. Plugin - container.exe & maintenanceservice.exe are part of firefox and don't pose a risk to your system.
