Microsoft Picture it! 2001.

I have 2001 British edition of Picture it! I want to return to the use of this program, I love it. It's much less complicated than anything that exists today.

BUT I try to install it and it says I need IE 5 I have IE 8, but I use chrome and do not know how to return to IE 5, is there a way I can install and use this program?

Personally, I got the Picture It! version since 1999

you could look in Dual boot Vista and XP... or maybe
run a Virtual Machine with Win XP on your Vista system.
There is a full version of XP that can be activated.

Just beware that all support and updates for end XP in 2014.

of what is involved. I suggest you to perform detailed searches

  • Impossible to install 'Microsoft Picture It 2001' on Windows 7

I install the first 2 CD the second cd prompt an icon indicating that the computer should restart after which the same icon is displayed with the same restart process over and over again.

I'm afraid that this is is not supported in Windows 7. You could try to install in compatibility mode. Insert the disc, open the computer, open the drive, right click on the installer and click on solve compatibility issues. Follow the wizard to screen on and choose a known version of Windows, the software works with such as Windows XP or Windows 2000. If this does not work, I suggest you download the successor of Picture It! called Windows Live Photo Gallery:

I you LIKE Microsoft Picture it!.  There is no other product out there that allows you to edit, crop, to improve your photos and make a variety of products such as cards, flyers, ads, etc.

    Compatibility

You have the latest version of the software? Some earlier programs may not work in Windows 7.

If this is not the case, check with the program manufacturer if they have updates or fixes for the software.

Windows 7 Compatibility Center check the compatibility of the programs:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

    Troubleshoot Compatibility

This can help with some (but not all) programs:

    (1) uninstall the program, if it is already installed. Then when install you / reinstall instead of double click on the Setup file, right click and select 'resolve compatibility issues.

    (2) then click on 'Try recommended settings' and in the next window, click on "Start the Program" to install it.

    (3) after he set up see if it works properly. Note: some programs are perhaps not able to run in windows 7.

  • Not able to run Microsoft Picture It 2000

Microsoft Picture It 2000 had, but it does not work on PC with Windows XP. Solution?

Allows to launch Picture It 2000 on PC at home. Got a new PC with Windows XP. Picture it will not work on it, because it can not find reference Internet 5. I do not use this online computer... but I didn't uninstall the newer of Internet Explorer and replace it with IE 5. I searched online a version of Picture It that are compatible on Windows XP, but after hours search... all I get is run around several other publishers of images... but nothing to download all versions of the image in it for Windows XP. I really like if we were working on Picture It format... so... NY solutions... ideas...?

PI2000 should install with IE6 and IE7 may be but
not IE8. Later versions of MS Picture It! /
MS Digital Image must run under XP with IE8...

I am running Win XP SP3 with IE8 and currently
Ms Picture It! Publishing 2001 and MS Digital Image
    Suite 2006 installed and running.

You can always download a 60 day trial of digital
Image Suite 2006 (successor of Picture It!) (If you have
PI .mix files from your old version... software .it peut
Open, edit, and convert in the 2002 version. MIX
has been changed. PNG which is a more universal format)

(Unlike the retail version... trial does not have the)
ability to create VCD and it does not include the
clip art and projects pre formatted)

If you try this software and love... you may be able to
find a copy online at a site like Amazon or Ebay.
