Microsoft sent me a lower OS version when the computer crashed
I had Windows Vista Home Premium for about a year but it crashed and basically Windows had to send me a CD to reinstall Vista. However, they sent me Vista HomeBasic, not my original Vista Home Premium. Is there a way I can fix this for free?
If this error was made by Microsoft, communicate with them the same way you did to get the replacement first and ask them to fix the problem. This issue is between you and them. We know nothing of the situation or the reason why they sent the replacement or why it was the wrong version or whatever it is and cannot help you here. We cannot solve this problem. You need to talk with them and deal with them.
I hope this helps and that they can help you out here.
Good luck!

You will need to download older version, because the computer crashed.
I recently had my computer crash. I need to reinstall my applications, but they are old versions and not listed. Now what?
You can probably (depends on what age) download trial versions of the software through the site linked below and then use your current serial number to activate.
Don't forget to follow the steps described in the Note: very important Instructions in the section on the pages of this site download and have cookies turned on in your browser, otherwise the download will not work correctly.

How to transfer from Photoshop to another computer, when the computer crashes

If versions before CC, you must contact Adobe and have them reset your password.
For CC just reinstall the CC app handler and install your programs.

If time machine is incremental how it removes previous versions when the disk is full, without breaking the chain, so do not be able to restore the file with any changes made since the full backup first file...
If the TM drive storage is full TM automatically deletes the version the oldest files for the new incremental backups can be made. Thus, in this case you cannot restore the versions that TM deleted because it takes more storage.

When I install CS5.5 (upgrade) in a new computer, it says that there are no old version in the computer. I have older versions CS3 and 1.1 What do I have to install them also?
Laughing out loud
but after you have entered your serial number of cs5.5, the installer will search your computer for cs3. Unable to find the Setup program will present a drop-down list of previous versions. Select cs3. you will be prompt to enter the serial number for cs3.
Enter the correct number at the right time and proceed with the installation.

Windows Defender will stop when the computer starts
Windows Defender goes off when the computer is started and occasionally when the computer is running. I bring up the Control Panel icon, click on restart and restart the program. I had this problem for a week but have not added new software for a fortnight. Everything ran happily until a week ago. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic on a Packard Bell Imedia 3312 UK computer, purchased in April 2009
Are you by chance using AVG 9.0 for your antivirus package? This version of AVG 9 automatically extinguished Windows Defender. Microsoft® Security MVP, 2004-2009

Fan comes on full blast when the computer is running. Won't stop unless the computer is turned off, or in low power state. Tech has replaced the fans, problem resurfaced after computer tech left. Everything else seems to work very well. Dell XPS One (all-in-One), Intel Core 2 Quad CPU, Q8200 @ 2.33 GHz, 4 GB RAM, OS, Vista 32-bit
I suggest you get back the Tech to fix it properly this time, because they have replaced the fan.

Effectiveness of password computer when the computer is open
The computer access password act as a block, restrict or prevent access to the computer by unwelcome intruders, when the computer is open?
D I'm Kaye
When you put the password on your computer only people who know the password can log into the account protected by password. When your computer is started, or is in sleep or lock, when you try to access it, it will ask for the password.
However, when you already login in your PC and if you just leave your PC, other people could access while you are connected but you can either lock the PC when leave you or stop or turn sleep mode.
You can also change the setting in a way to browse automatically sleep mode or even display the server if you do not use your PC after a period (e.g. 15 minutes) and when someone tries to access the PC, he or she will need to enter password.
For better security, it is also recommended to protect your system with bitlocker, for protection (if the version of your Windows supports this feature):

After the upgrade to Firefox version 29, the browser crashes every 30-45 seconds, about 15 seconds. [Windows Vista]
Sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer, you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
- Microsoft safety scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one.

Tecra A5 - charges the battery only when the computer is turned off
Hello
For a few days, my Tecra A5 has started to beep and stop it (like when the battery is low) then that it was connected to the power supply adapter.
I finally realized that when the computer is plugged in, the battery discharge and does not use the power supply to recharge.
On the other hand, if I turn off the computer, the battery starts to charge.
I replaced the battery a few months ago, so I think it's still OK.The charger would be defective? Seems strange since it can always recharge the battery when the computer is turned off.
Thanks in advance for your contributions.
> The charger is defective?
Theoretically; Yes, but could also be electronic supply on the motherboard is affected, but on the first stage of the AC adapter should be verified and laptop needs to be tested with AC adapter new, good work.

Toshiba 32RV635D does not power off when the computer turns off
Hello
I inherited a Toshiba 32RV635D. I have a PVR based on linux (Mythtv) connected to the TV via HDMI, connected on a Nvidia GT610.
With my previous TV, a Vistron LCD Panel at low prices, he would go to sleep when the put PC into hibernation and light up when the PC came back.
This required no configuration of me, he's done right. The Toshiba TV does not work. With this Toshiba TV, when the POR turns off the TV turns off screen but is actually still on - power led remains lit in green.
Same thing with the other way around - if I put the TV in standby and powered the POR, the TV does not respond and I have to manually put out of Eve.
I updated the firmware and it has not changed anything, and I can't find anything related to power management in the menus of televisions. I even tried just pulling the HDMI cable to the back of the TV so it has no physical active entry, and yet, it does not fall to sleep.
The Amazon page for TV mentions the power management features, and I expected from what I understand, it should behave the way she.
I read a lot on HDMI-CEC, but to use it with my existing kit, I would need to buy an adapter USB - CEC, and which seems a little odd because my previous TV not cheap-as-chips just done this...
Also, the different uses in linux suggests considers its sounds the right - 'xset q' running when the computer is idle tells me that "the monitor is turned off" when in fact it is not.
Clues?
Ricklous, it can be useful if you have a look at the url
http://www.Toshiba-OM.NET/LCD/PDF/English/Country_Specific/RV635-323742-English-specific.PDFIf you want to download the manual of the English edition for your model, I have not read through, but it may be useful to you.
Either by the way, I have the model 32RL900A and find only a VCR plugged into the claims of taking SCART screen every time it turns on while the TV is set to a string of FTA (Free To Air) and then 'hands back' screen when he (PVR) goes out, and this, I discovered, is a characteristic of the system SCART.
I don't know if this information is useful to you, but hope it helps.

Since the new version update (9926), whenever my computer goes to sleep or when it is left for several hours compress I get unhandled KMode Exception error. I deleted a suspicious program who has problems during the previous generation, but that made no difference. When the computer restarts, I wonder if I want to use the previous windows platform and I encounter the KMode problem, but after a day or two, the computer did an update to 9926 and I started having the problem again. I looked for all devices that are evidence of a driver problem and have not found any. Tech is able to examine the file DMP to give me a clue as to the program/device must the fixed driver so that I can get past this error? Here is a link to the folder that contains the file.
I looked in the pilot and I have the most up to date, but I was able to solve the problem until the next update by turning on my screensaver and do not allow the HARD drive to sleep.
