Microsoft updates keeps laptop computer misuse of my husband

The other day I jumped the laptop open & he said that it has been updated 2 3 or something to that effect. It remained like that for hours without having it done. I had to do a repair and restart it at an earlier date to get going again. This has happened three times since. Today, I was actually online looking at something up when I hit my offline & this scenario all started again. What gives? What is c?

First of all, read this MSKB to and do step 1 to clean boot Vista: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista
Open Internet Explorer by right clicking it's icon or a shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator" , enter the password if one is used, and then click on continue. Then, go here: How to reset the Windows Update components?
Click the Fixit button and allow the Fixit run to its default option.
When the Fixit is complete, restart the system, leaving in the clean boot state.
Now let's see if the updates install now.
If they don't, then do step 7 to cancel the State of clean boot and boot the system in normal mode of Windows.

If they do not, please copy and paste the last lines 50 or so WindowsUpdate.log in your answer:

  • Suggestions on how to update Microsoft Updates when a computer has not been upadted in one year

have a laptop with Vista on it. The laptop has not been updated (it has been used) in almost a year. I know that there must be a TON of updates it needs Microsoft.

Another concern that the amount of updates that will be found will crush the computer. How can I update in a safe and less massive way?

I thought to download all the updates, but simply install a little at a time.

But I think that the amount of download will be as overwhelming

    Repost

check marks beside the updates you want to install.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." 90% of the edits, even those labeled as 'critical' no effect not me. I don't use Outlook for e-mail, I do not use Windows Live Mail, is not a server, it is not a media center, is not a game platform, etc., etc.

I had long climbed out of the car "must always be updated software" long, particularly when it comes to and because of Microsoft updates.

  • 11 - n010dx: failure of Microsoft Updates on laptop brand new

My wife and I just bought two new laptops for use during many travels.

They say "Please wait for microsoft update" every time us start them.  About 45 minutes later, they say "update failed, uninstall" it takes another 20 minutes or so.

    I did some research.

I found that there is a list of about 20 updates that Microsoft thinks we need.  I tried to install an update, and got the same behavior, with shorter times.

When I did, I got an error message 800F0922

I studied this error message on Microsoft support forum

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-windows_update/error-0x800f0922-when-ins...

It's a pretty sad forum topic.  It seems that a lot of people have this problem, and Microsoft offers no assistance.

HP can help under the warranty HP support.  Our order number is H130921466

We have disabled the windows updates, but this doesn't seem to be a good long term solution.

I am entering this topic on the forum under "laptop Operating Systems" because there is no operating system for laptop forum topic.  I suggest to change the name of the topic forum for laptop.

    Hello

Do you have a lot of bugs? For new laptops, I normally have to spit these fixes in a few batches and prefer to never get computer go to standby mode.

  • Microsoft Update freeze my computer

    OK, let's go...

On December 8th or 9th there was an update from windows that I had installed and went to bed. The next day, when from my computer all loaded to the top and 2 seconds later everything I can do was move my mouse. I can't click on anything. I know that I didn't before this was a windows update. nothing else in the month has been downloaded or installed on my PC.

I rebooted and still the same. So I decided to do a system restore. I force rebooted my computer in safe mode and if the system restores. Everything worked well. I had used the computer for a few hours without problems. "until I noticed that windows update has appeared on my restart button. so I said to myself. Let me restart and see if everything is ok. I restarted my computer and loading upward, I had the same problem. 2 seconds frozen after all except my mouse pointer and a small circle rolling around 'work' and all I can think about was call DELL since last year, I bought my computer. I called them and they had me to do a full restore. (who's always there answering a problem) I did it because I didn't have a lot on my pc anyway. Everything was back to normal. I loaded up and everything was fine, I had to install the updates again and always work. but the second set of 2 or 3 update is where I ran into the problem again. FROZEN SCREEN! other than my mouse. so. now, I did a restore of the system again and that they made the great list of updates but I have disabled the future updates. I won't install because I know what will happen. can someone please help me with this because dell says it's a Microsoft update problem that is making my computer. Help, please! I will now list which computer I use. I hope someone can get back to me on this problem.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for the update.

    Try this:

Optimize Windows 7 for better performance.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  • How to make hotspot using my laptop computer wifi

I use the connection internet evdo in my laptop & I have a Nokia E71 mobile. I want to share internet to update using laptop computer wifi connection to use my mobile.

    Hello

There is no way of setting to fulfill your need as material Wi - Fi on the laptop would not receive the signal does not pass.

However, you can try to set up a Wi - Fi hotspot on your laptop and check if your phone can spike the signal.

Unless you have configured a virtual adapter or your laptop has Wi-Fi to transmit material, you won't be able to share the internet on your phone.

Please follow the links below to solve the problem.

    Method 1

Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network

If the step above does not work, then you must get a wireless / Wi - Fi router and try.

  • Windows Vista won't start after installation of microsoft updates

Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library.
This application has requested the execution to terminate in an unusual way.  For more information, contact the application support team.

The options are to click OK or close the box.  I tried both and it just keeps popping up the same box as above.

    Hi Mas_007,

Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

I have a few here that might solve the problem.

A.) Firstly, I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and check if you are able to boot without any problems, safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed that, follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode with networking:

To restart the computer using safe mode, restart the computer and press the F8 key for about four to five times. Appears in safe mode listed in the advanced options of Windows. Select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.

    (B) I suggest that you perform a clean boot on your computer, to help troubleshoot error messages and other issues; You can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

    (1) perform the clean boot (check the link to perform the clean boot)

    (2) enable half the services

    (3) determine whether the problem returns

    (4) enable half of the startup items

    (5) determine if the problem returns

    (6) repeat the steps above until you find out which program or service is causing the issue

After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual by following step 7 of article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.

(C.) I suggest that you perform a scan of the file system [SFC] checker on the computer, the scan replaces the failed system of files with the original files from version of Windows on the computer system, follow the steps below to perform a scan:

I suggest to empty the temp folder and later, follow these steps:

    i. Click Start > type % temp % in the start search box > press on enter > delete everything present in the temp folder.

    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.

    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    3. at the command calls, the following line and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved.

    Hope this information is useful.
Let me know if it worked.

  • Microsoft Update is broken?

After the patches Microsoft November 2014 have been released, I have connected to the Microsoft Update web site and look for updates for Office 2007 Suite installed on my computer, and Office 2007 has been patched successfully; my computer still has loaded XP but I also genuine Office 2007 is installed, including Microsoft Update (not Windows Update) regularly checks the updates. Yesterday I even clicked on Microsoft Update (http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate... but the page did not open and displays the message "this site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to display.) "The error no.: 0 x 80248015. My second computer with XP but with genuine Office 2007 could not be connected to the Microsoft Update web page either and the same message was displayed, which shows that the error is not specific to one computer. Microsoft Update web site is temporarily down? Or started Microsoft prevent users from Windows XP from Microsoft Update, even if these users always have other Microsoft products like office and always need to run Microsoft Update. The procedure gave me last year I've updated Windows Update on the second computer components, where the Update window now properly works but as soon as I go to Microsoft Update from Windows Update, the error message is displayed. So, it is definitely a problem with Microsoft Update. The computer clock is synchronized automatically and I also synchronize manually at any time.

I would appreciate help with this problem, because I still need to update Office 2007 by Microsoft Update.

  • can I update my laptop graphics card

Hi I was just wondering if it is possible for me to update my laptop computer graphics card, like the one I have is an integrated intel hd and it's simply not enough good for games, I want to play

    Hello

Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

    • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
    • Need new card system (can be),
    • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
    • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
    • Cost of the work.
    • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

    I hope this helps.
