Microsoft Windows 8 CPU limits

I looked for answers to these questions via Google and other search engines on the Web. I can't find answers to them.

The terms that I use and specify its sense before I ask my questions are the following.

Quantity refers the number of term or the County by others.

A logical processor is either: 1) one of the two managers of wire of the instructions of one of the amount of carrots from one of quantity of physical processors with HyperThreading support; or (2) the amount of nuclei of one of the amount of physical processors without HyperThreading for one.

End of 'Conditions that I use and clarify its meaning before I ask my questions are the following.'.

Now, here are my questions.

(1.) what is the total maximum quantity of logical processors in a PC that supports Microsoft Windows 8 (x 86, 32-bit, x 86-32, x 32, IA-32)?
(2.) what is the total maximum quantity of logical processors in a PC that supports Microsoft Windows 8 (x 64-64, 64-bit, x 86, not IA-64)?
(3.) what is the total maximum quantity of physical processors in a PC that supports Microsoft Windows 8 (x 86, 32-bit, x 86-32, x 32, IA-32)?
4.) what is the total maximum quantity of physical processors in a PC that supports Microsoft Windows 8 (x 64-64, 64-bit, x 86, not IA-64)?

I thank those who can answer my questions accordingly and relevant.

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

I am experiencing this when I try to use Windows Media Player (so recent, but not easy to find the version number) to play a .wma file that I've transferred from vinyl years ago.  My browser isn't FireFox, Netscape.

I drag the file from Windows Explorer to the playlist in Windows Media Player, and a Web page comes up (http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/pdrm/en/welcome.asp?challenge=AAEAATMvJkIGMMWfrmgMxKUeJkQMlzddByxvhfASAwJeI7q50r * BSeNHGXSEmuEa3z9B8i4S!) Bebc75l2lX3gVmq5Na & DRMVer = 1. "& embedded = false).  The page says:

    -------------------------------------

A license is required to play this file

The file you are trying to play was ripped (copied) from an audio CD.

During the extraction process, the file was "protected". This limits the number of computers on which the file can be read.

To read the file on this computer, you must download a license (a process called "license migration"). A license is an electronic key that allows to "unlock" a protected file and read it.

To download a license for this file, click download the license .

    [Button: download license]

    .. then by some Notes.

    -------------------------------------

When I click on the button, I get a dialog box saying «Netscape browser no not the Microsoft windows media services plug-ins to allow the download of license to play music»

    .. who's actually a dead-end.  I tried the FireFox plug-ins, but it was a waste of time.

It's annoying, because my vinyl transfer was fair use of album, and my time is precious to me.

    -Eric

SOLUTION: Is annoying, but switch to Internet Explorer as default browser and go through the procedure described above.  When I did, he received the license, which enabled Windows Media Player play all .wma files in the directory.  (It could be worse - the software could have go me through the process for each file separately.) Other players are still unable to read the files and it's still a nuisance.

    # Anytime Upgrade is specific edition.  If Home Premium was the original OS on the computer and then restore it and then use the HP upgrade last month to THE or buy a professional for the last update.

Except if you have language packs that come with Ultimate I'd stay professional.  Professional is expected to support up to 2020, while Ultimate is limited to supported until 2015.

    Some troubleshooting you can try:

It can change so quickly that the total is rarely exactly as 100%.

These methods allow to see if you can determine what is using cycles CPU when the system of bogs

Take a lot of time processor. Process Explorer and Process Monitor can also help determine
    Which processes are using CPU.

Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

The main applications are: 1. What are the 6 reports "--> Scan ERROR... etc... ", and what do mean?

And 2. That means the 8050815 code?

I have find and read some articles in the KB ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891717 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/890830/ ) but they do not seem to mention the reports I receive or 80508015 code.

I did also have a search on this site and found a few related posts but for me they did not really answer why this happened or exactly what he was wrong (if anything?). Where did this post.

I was happy when I was not at, but after trying to correct the mistakes, I bit the bullit and reinstalled.

  • Windows 8 slow down browsing, explore everything slow, slow - Solution involves (defective)? Microsoft Windows backup process?

I have a new PC of Windows 8 with all the OS updates carried out.  It was not long before the loading of the page on Internet Explorer took a minute (with messages frequent that the page was not answer and I wanted to get the Web page).  The same was true for the launch of Windows Explorer to browse the folders on the computer.  A quick look at the Device Manager revealed that the internal memory use was about 37% always, who initially does not sound an alarm for me (but it must be, I guess!).  Meanwhile, there was nothing wrong with my broadband access - Ookla was speedtesting to almost 20 Mbps.  I searched the web for answers - using search terms such as "fast and slow navigation broadband ' and permutations on this subject.  There were a lot of hits - a lot of people have had this problem, but there is that none of the solutions proposed who worked for one of these people who ask the question (and solutions did not work for me - a commune was ' stop using IE - use Chrome instead! ")  This has no effect).  Norton Internet Security, Spybot, and MalwareBytes found no problem.

Finally, I took another look at Device Manager and reinforced with all the running processes.  I noticed a strange thing - a process called "Microsoft Windows Backup" was running - and it was in the list of processes about 8 times.  Some iterations were using up to 20% of available memory - others used none.  I went through and started to kill these processes.  At first, I just couldn't do enough quickly - they would reopen not almost as soon as I closed the.  Finally, with lots of quick click, I killed all and none reopened.  I went back to Internet Explorer - and found blazing fast page loading.  My Windows Explorer was also back to normal - I was browsing directories at a good pace.

So the question is...  WHY 'Microsoft Windows Backup' ran several times in Device Manager?  Is it really 'Microsoft Windows Backup' or some malware masquerading as such?  And if there is a problem with a backup context process, how can I make sure it is disabled and remains disabled?

    Thank you!

    1 way of working!

Historical files was already off, I had several instances of "Microsoft Windows backup" processes running and one of them would be 30 or 40 percent (he jumped of a process to another).

What is the process and why did start? (or was it always ongoing enforcement & suddenly become a CPU hog?)

Cannot access my Comcast mail since the last update. I can access it from Safari and Microsoft Windows, but generally do not use either of these browsers. I chatted with Comcast and they are the ones who asked me to try to gain access to other browsers. And, as noted, I managed. Only my opening my email to Comcast.net inhibits the Firefox, the browser that I use on a regular basis because of this problem I can't use Firefox.

  • Failure of a file registry - A32 Satellite running on Microsoft Windows XP

Hello, can someone help with this you problem?

I have a Satellite phone for 7 years that is running Microsoft Windows XP.

When I tried to turn on the system today, Windows is not started as usual, but instead, I got a blue screen with the following error message:-

    * STOP: c0000218 (registry file failure *)

    Hello

In your case I'd take a Win XP disk and would try to reinstall the system.
Still is it that you are not able to boot into normal mode and safe mode so I put t see another solution for you.
Of course, the blue screen of death could be related to a hardware problem (HARD drive problem) and in this case the installation of the system not fix your problem. Then this would require the new survey

  • Scanners supported in Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7

I have a HP Scanjet 5370c running on my desktop PC with Windows XP and am planning to upgrade to Windows 7 by releasing.  However, when the software running Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta to determine the compatibility of the system, the report indicates that the 5370 Scanjet is not compatible with Windows 7.  Further investigation on the HP Web site titled "Supported in Microsoft Windows Vista Scanners" page, it seems that my scanner is not supported on Vista either.  Does this mean that my scanner which works great under XP has been made obsolete due to lack of a driver which runs under Vista or Windows 7?  I like the Scanjet 5370c better than most scanners newest I've seen, it seems a shame to throw the right equipment for lack of support drivers.

I understand your point of view, and it's a good thing.  BUT it can cost the sale of new scanners.

The Scanjet 400, for example, was a very popular scanner.  Do not update for Vista, HP turned its back to a large number of its customers.

When I buy a scanner to work with Windows 7, guess what?  Because of the behavior of HP, I'll be that much less likely to buy a HP one.

I'm probably not the only one to see things this way.
