Microsoft windows component Publisher

I logged on Windows Update and there was this pop-up window in Internet Explorer - security warning asking me if I wanted to install or not to install Microsoft Windows component Publisher. Natually I clicked on "install", but when I did it hang and later does not. I tried several times but still the same result. Now I can't access my Windows Update page as him will ask install me or not install the software and it prevents my computer to get critical updates from microsoft. What can I do? Help, please!

Stuart Lutes.

Hi Ki Ogama!

Here's what I did, and I will guide you step by step. But before we begin, let me tell you that my system is Windows XP Professional. I don't know what yours is so keep that in mind. Here goes:

1. click on start.

2. click on Panel.

3. click on in Help and Support.

4. under "Pick a task", click on Windows Update.

5. Once you arrive at Windows Update, you will see again the Internet Explorer security window will ask you if you want to install or not to install the software. Go ahead and click 'install' and immediately, he will invite you to the Windows Update home page.

I hope this helps!

Best regards

Stuart Lutes.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. A few times that I noticed that Microsoft Windows Publisher certificate is out of date on my PC and I was wondering what the problem might be... I noticed before, when I tried to install Windows updates, and today, when I was starting a disk defragmentation.  The Publisher's certificate has shown a "valid until the" date of the 07.03.2011. You use Certificate Manager to display the certificate that has expired?

  • Status window component-fax fax Windows does not appear when sending or receiving

I can send and receive faxes using Microsoft fax in windows component, but fax status window does not appear when sending or receiving.  How can I fix?

Assuming that long ago, that you have installed Service Pack 1 for Windows XP, your problem may be a badly configured third-party firewall.  See http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/4a29389c214c78ea88256c75005f451a/713afacbd4135e0a88256c77007e526f?OpenDocument

Also take a look in the event viewer (start > run > eventvwr > OK) for errors or warnings related to the fax system.  If you find one, double-click on it to open the event properties, and click on 2 pages below the up/down arrow icon to copy the events to the Clipboard.  Then paste it in your response.

I get the error code 80073712 - windows component store is damaged - when you try to install windows vista SP1 and also the Cumulative security update to explore 7 (KB978207). Fails every time.

I followed the advice and installed the system update tool for Windows Vista (does this twice), but still cannot download and install updates - get error 80073712.

How can I fix the corrupted windows components store?

    CMDC,
If the SFC was not able to repair files then the best thing to do is to reinstall Windows.  You can try running a disk error check, if it fixes all of the problems, and then rerun the SFC and then install and run the System Update tool.  If there is still a problem with the SFC nto be able to complete then you should do a reinstall.

  • The Microsoft/Windows Update errors and updates failed.

I just had to make YET ANOTHER Destructive full restore my win Vista PC, regular and continuous errors and problems caused by who knows what and the fact that the system restore never worked once in 10 years of friggin! My PC tries to run Win' Vista (SP2) and all the new updates that are applied after SP2. I also run Norton Internet Security (fully updated). I would like to re - install Office 2007 again once more, but I'm reluctant to until I get an answer to the following problem, because whenever I have re-installed Office 2007 I get Office update errors as well. I do not yet have enough away with this recovery to even think about re - install "other apps" again. My problem is that a heck of a lot more than several updates that were 'available' over time since I bought this pc (which didn't even have SP1 on it when I bought it new), do not have more than several times. Finally, it seems that these updates failed stop appearing as 'available '. Currently failed updates are: IMPORTANT: KB974468; KB2729449; KB2742595; RECOMMENDED: Windows Live Essentails 2001. OPTIONAL: Bing Office 1.3.1. also failed (the current version is 1.3.3...).

My concern about all these multiple failed updates is that if these updates ARE important, whereas they should, and at the very least, not failed to install the first time which must be installed with success the next time. There are at least 40 + other these updates on my pc (of all types) who failed the first time, but succeeded (according to Windows Update), the second time. After doing a search and try to install these updates above manually from the Microsoft Download Center, I got a response that these updates "are not" or "are blocked by another condition on my computer. What 'State' is probably I wonder? Makes me think anyone or whatever decide an update IS important for a particular system is wrong either (and the update is NOT important at all) and so it does not yet appear in the list of "update available", or it IS important and there is another unknown or error "NO that does NOT exist. preventing the update to be applied. I say no because maybe this unknown error also cites a number of error that is not found by the completely useless online "windows help and support!

If an update is NOT or is no LONGER available, then why hell is he always recommended! ??? In all cases, "Windows Live Essentials 2011" settles, and looking for 'help' by selecting "get help with this error" I am taken to the "windows help and support" line (which doesn't help at all). That's because this 'aid' shows only 26 'results' and NONE of them include error numbers (800706... and two instances of 66A) city. ANY help will be VERY much appreciated (epecially on the part of MVP, who have been a great help in the past) cordially Andy Bob :) :) :) :)

    Let's start from the beginning.

Lets first see what happened with your drive.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy and paste by clicking in the command prompt window and choose Paste).

    change c:\bootex.log

What is this file exist with something in it?

The following commands query the event logs.

To start verification by using the name of the source for any version of Windows (because it varies).

WMIC /append:"%userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html" PATH Win32_NTLogEvent where (sourcename = "Autocheck" or sourcename = 'Winlogon' or sourcename = "WinInit") get format:HForm

    To run chkdsk in Windows.

For warnings about disk problems detected during normal operations and automatic repairs by Windows at the time where the problems were discovered.

WMIC /append:"%userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html" PATH Win32_NTLogEvent where (sourcename = "NTFS" or Sourcename = 'Disc') to / format: HForm

Then to view the created file.

    Start "" "% userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html"

    More details about the error

To decode 0 x 80070002. X 0 means that it is a hexadecimal number, 8 , error, the first 7 means it a windows error and the rest of Eastern 2, the number, the Windows error.

To search for the error message we need to decimal format. Start the Calculator (Start - All Programs - Accessories - calculator) and choose the menu display - scientific, then the menu display - Hex. Enter 2 Menu display - decimal. It will say 2.

Start an command prompt (Start - All Programs - Accessories - command prompt) and type

    net helpmsg 2

    and it will say

The system cannot find the specified file.

Use Notepad to search for FATAL and and the specific error code (for example, 80070002) in C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log.

Windows errors (smallish numbers) and COM HRESULT values (in general, but with exceptions, start with an 8 as 0 x 80040154) are defined in WinError.h, except 8007nnnn where you are looking for the error Window number it contains.

As a general rule, Windows errors are less than 65 535 (0xFFFF). Errors from 0 x 80000001 are HResults Component Object Model (COM). Errors from 0 xC0000001 NTStatus results.

NTStatus errors (usually, but not always to start with a C as 0xC0000022) are defined in NTStatus.h.

the .h files are the best source because it includes the symbolic name of the error that can give clues such as the source of the error
. FormatMessage does not have the symbolic name as the description.

You get these files by downloading the kit of Development Platform (that's gigabytes)

If you just want the two files I have them on my skydrive so I can reference anywhere I want.

  • Clean Windows component cannot be run on this installation.

That's all. The only error message I get. I type "compcln.exe", and it says: "Cannot run Windows component Clean on this facility."

I have Windows Vista SP2, I don't think there's much more information... I googled the error message, but not a single result was pointing. Am I the only one?

Why it is not working, what is wrong with it, and why the devs didn't put in an error code?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi DniFan,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers site!

The component of Windows Cleanup tool (COMPCLN.exe) allows you to delete the files that are archived after Windows Vista SP2. It also removes the files that were archived after Windows Vista SP1 has been applied, if they are on the system.

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista SP2 after you run this tool on the computer.

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: first of all, check and confirm if the installation of the service pack 2 (SP2):

Click Start, type System in the start search box, and then click system information in the list programs.

The title of the edition of the operating system, look for service pack applied on the computer.

Step 2: run the COMPCLN.exe via windows Explorer:

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32, look at the file COMPCLN. EXE (capitals are for clarity only), right click, select run as administrator and then answer Y to the command prompt.

    Hope this information is helpful

my hard drive is damaged and I need a link to download microsoft windows 7 x 15-53889

I have computer hp Pavilion dv6 2140ee laptop with a pre instaled windows 7 x 15-53889 but my hard disk is damaged and I can't do a restore I n ° series for the laptop and the windows product key

all I need is a link to download the windows

I was able to access my hard drive and I can see the recovery partition, but I don't know how to copy

    can you help me?

The only method I can think of requires imaging tools such as Acronis True Image (costs money). It allows to copy the recovery on the new disk partition. Maybe you can then use the appropriate keyboard key (such as published on the HP site) to start a process of restoration of the factory.

  • During ANY installation of a program (e.g. Skype), I get the "year error occurred while attempting to create the directory C:\Program\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu.

    original title: facilities program

During ANY installation of a program (e.g. Skype), I get the "year error occurred while attempting to create the directory C:\Program\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. What happened with cd installs, but also downloads on the internet.  I already "took possession" of the computer, which is still delayed freaking, but am still unable to fight through all the questions of security, I guess that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm about to DOWNGRADE to something more user-friendly.  Thank you

BTW, this is WINDOWS 7 Home Premium

I had this problem for a long time on Windows 7. Finally, by pure chance I came across this solution that solved the problem. -Take the shortcut of the property

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/1911-take-ownership-shortcut.html

You will need to run the "fusion" in the context menu of a reg file, published as part of the solution to change some registry settings. On any folder, you'll get a context menu 'Take Ownership' which restores the property correctly. This solves a lot of problems installing.

Many people have trouble with this and therefore decided to post here.

Gem of a solution. Thanks to GRIM and Brink on Windows 7 Forum!

  • Adobe Photoshop authorization/Installation - Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi,.

I work for an MSP & one of our clients is looking to purchase of Adobe Photoshop.

Technical issue: Photoshop can be run in a virtual environment (VMware) Microsoft Windows Server R2 Standard 2012 & publish out as an application remotely to a Terminal Server?

If so how licensing would work?

I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards

    Ashley.

It is extremely unlikely that it works well. Photoshop is a very resource hungry application that makes intensive use, if the video card's GPU. You can virtualize the GPU? Many Photoshop users are they high systems need high-end optimized with a mixture of several SSD and external drive. You will probably need to make a case for a standalone PC rather than follow your business model.

Technically the volume license may operate a license perspective, but not subscription to retail.

  • set up a batch of Microsoft Windows environment

I would like to set up an environment of Microsoft Windows on a Microsoft batch processing
Windows application server to process commands specific to Microsoft Windows, such as Crystal Reports. I have it configured. But how to distribute the batch jobs to run in this server when my PIA is on the Linux server?

Published by: hzg on 29 July 2012 18:36

    Hello

The distribution of reports by the process Scheduler are transferred in the PIA using the distribution node.
Configure you this to transfer using FTP, or HTTP (S) so it does not matter if your assembly PIA/Batch server installed on Windows/Linux.

Once you set up your server on windows (RTC) batch, you can choose this batchserver when running for example crystal reports.
This will run the process in your batch of windows server and distribution node will transfer out of the PIA process.
