Microsoft wireless desktop 2000 USB transceiver works do not.

I have Microsoft Wireless Desktop 2000 for a while now, about 2 months.

Its under warranty. Now, all of a sudden, the radio stopped working.

I know because if I apply a slight pressure on the transceiver downwards, he begins to respond and when I take off the pressure, it stops responding.

P.S. I also tried all the troubleshooting methods.

I tried service and technical support centres. They say that Microsoft does not provide two-way radios separately and I buy the complete kit again.

Now I can't do it because he is a few months old and I've spent a small fortune buying the kit.

I hope someone at Microsoft to help me.

Thank you!

  • Microsoft Wireless Desktop 2000

I just bought a wireless office 2000 microsoft with strikes wireless encryption. The implementation went a lot, but when I try to connect to my Bank it won't let me. Whenever I enter the numbers or letters with the keyboard, it keeps putting in a bunch of extra points and 8 s and will record not in. How can I make this product works with my Bank and other sites, connect?  What is the encryption to change things?

I see that you are facing problems while typing in the details of connecting to Web sites.

    1. What version of web browser do you use?
    2. The problem happens only when you are connected to Web sites?

  • Microsoft Desktop 2000 USB receiver will not be detected in Windows 8?

    Split of: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-hardware/microsoft-desktop-2000-usb-receiver-wont-be/1b6e623d-e466-4c81-9d0c-da29eb58604c

I have a new Microsoft Wireless 2000 keyboard and plugged the USB into my computer Windows 8 and nothing happens.  No noise, no detection, nothing.  The recommendation is to check the batteries in the keyboard and get drivers, but that shouldn't matter for the dongle.  He should at least ding and try to discover what he as it does for everything else that I plug.   I downloaded the drivers and the batteries are all new.  Everything else works in the USB ports, so I think that the new dongle is just bad.

I also had a mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile 4000 and the dongle does not even fit into my USB port.  I can connect any other USB device very well, but I couldn't get this dongle in once and since then I can't do without possibly breaking something back in.  I have tried other devices and it's 50-50 whether it fits or not.   It works actually when I get it, in contrast to the keyboard, but once it's in it can not be removed apparently.

I'm not sure that I hope more than Microsoft hardware.  I may have to stick to software only.  I never had so much trouble with other brands of trust.

  • I would like to know if Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 also works with rechargeable batteries

    Hello

I just bought a Wireless Desktop 3000 (keyboard + mouse).

I would like to know if it also works with rechargeable batteries for normal alkaline batteries (batteries recommended) are 1.5 V batteries (NiMH) are only 1, 2V.  The keyboard uses 2 batteries and the batteries in the mouse 2 also.

    Thank you

    Hello Lorant,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Community forum.

It is generally recommended to use the batteries that are similar to the integrated batteries. However, you can try to use rechargeable batteries, but make sure that the electrical parameters are not much different.

Warning : Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Use by replacing only with the right size and type of batteries (alkaline, carbon zinc, or zinc chloride).

For more information, you can consult the following product guide for Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000: product guide

What is the difference between the 2000AES of Microsoft, and most expensive, 2000 Microsoft Wireless Desktop keyboard and mouse?

Made me. Comparing the two references, it seems that they are both the same, except that one is titled 'for business' and the other is not. The cheapest is "for companies' then perhaps originally they were to be sold in lots of dealers XX amount. If you plan to do one, get the cheaper. like you, I see no difference:

  • Wireless Desktop 2000 - encryption

I would buy a wireless keyboard if my keystrokes are sent to the tap-proof PC.

I was very happy to see the Wireless Desktop 2000 which is announced with: "Unlike standard keyboards, it has of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES),...". »

However, it is not very informative. AES is a block cipherfor the keystrokes, you need a stream cipher. There are several ways to encode keys steam using a block cipher. Before buying this keyboard I would like to know more details, for example,

    1. What block cipher mode is used,
    2. key (fixed key for all keyboards, fixed the key for each model, key can be changed by the customer, etc.)

Documents on the support Web site, Product Guide and the technical data sheet (only two pages :(!) do not contain any information about the encryption.
I would be happy if you could show me where I can get more information about the encryption used in the Wireless Desktop 2000 or if you could answer my questions.

    Hello

That there is very little information published on the keyboard in question. I suggest you to contact support by phone or chat to find out more information:

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you need to buy only the keyboard out of the drop-down list in the "Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000". According to the Microsoft hardware support portal, this product comes in a combined package, that is, it must buy wireless keyboard and mouse. Please see the following link for more information:
