Mid-2015 iMac restart in Windows Installer 10

Hi people,

I have an iMac 27 "retina brand new, mid-2015.

I am trying to install Windows 10 (or, really, any version of Windows) to this topic via Bootcamp in a dual-boot scenario, so that I can do some games through Steam.

I downloaded the iso last 10 Microsoft Windows.

Bootcamp Assistant partitioning the disk, but when it restarts, it does not in the installer of Windows 10. Instead, there is a delayed start-up period, and then it shock me back in Mac OS X. Holding keys option does not have a bootable Windows 10 option. However, the disk has been partitioned - the Windows partition appears on the Mac OS X desktop and in disk utility.

I know that Microsoft has recently updated the Windows 10 isos, and I suspect what is happening here is that Deputy Bootcamp has not yet taken.

I also suspect that this problem is pretty widespread.

Can someone let me know what I need to do? I also have a Windows 7 disc, but the Bootcamp Assistant says I need Windows 8 minimum... and Microsoft sells more copies of Windows 8.

Kind regards

Renai

  • iMac 2015 Unable to Boot Camp and Windows Installer

I've been back and forth with a Service guy to customers by phone, but thought I'd throw so the question in the case to see if there were others who have experienced similar problems and might be able to help.

I have an iMac, retina 5K, 27 - in, end of 2014. It allows to launch the Boot Camp with Windows 8.1, which I put in place about 1 year ago. It worked very well. But then, I decided to try to upgrade to Windows 10 about 3 weeks, which is not well. Decided to erase the partition via the wizard Boot Camp and re - install from scratch.

Now, I can not install Windows at all. I've tried everything. Using another ISO downloaded from the Windows website. Check disks using first aid. Last night I even totally erased the readers (via the terminal in recovery mode, with the help of the man of CS) and made a "Reinstall internet" of the operating system and then tried in boot camp. Without success.

I tried to call Microsoft too, but their position on the whole thing is "this is on a Mac, this is the problem to Apple. Bye. »

Appearances, Assistant Boot Camp is successfully created a partition. The system resets the Windows installation each time and I spend the flow rate of the installation until I get to the section "where you want to install Windows? I select my Bootcamp partition, format and then click Next. That's when I get the error message "we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup logs files. »

If I quit the installer and restart on the side OSX, I see that the new partitions is to Windows NTFS, so it seems ok. I am completely puzzled and frustrated as * at this stage.

    Any thoughts? Ideas? Help? Please?

  • iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2015) randomly restarts without errors

My iMac has been randomly restart itself (about once per day) when it is idle.  Everyone knows the same problem?  I found a YouTube video and that's exactly what happened to my iMac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka7lUIeiH5E

I attended once - the computer was in (not sleeping) with the screen off, nothing CPU/GPU intensive market.  I suddenly heard a chime and saw that the computer restarted itself.  I logged.  There is no window pop up.  I launched the Console and did not see anything unusual before the reboot.

    More information:

    1. The computer is idle when restart occurs.  Nothing on the computer indicates overheating.  Display is off (for inactivity) and fan is quiet.
    2. There is no trace of the software stop, panic the kernel or crash.  System log shows the normal activities, and then a sudden entry BOOT_TIME, as if someone pulls the power cord.
    3. It is not a failure, because the computer must be turned off if this is really a power failure.  "Start automatically after a power failure" is not checked.
    4. It started happening after I came back from a trip and upgraded my iMac to the latest Mac OS X five days ago.  This computer was purchased in October and I had never seen anything like this until a few days ago.

Comments on the YouTube video suggests a total prosthesis, but I hesitate to do so if it turns out to be a software/firmware problem that can be fixed. -The computer is heavy and the closest Apple Store is not very close, not to mention the efforts of backup/restore.

    Thank you

Seems to be a problem with 10.11.4. No doubt you did not have this problem before installing 10.11.4

Further discussion on this issue here: 5 k iMac restarts on its own after you install 10.11.4 unexpected restart

I think it is highly unlikely that it is material, as all signs point to a software problem (no problems before the update to 10.11.4 and everyone does the same behavior (unexpected random reboots) and the error code ('previous stop cause - 128' - which nobody seems to know what that means exactly) after updating to 10.11.4.) In any event, hardware problems usually come right out go the box or after tinker you with the machine somehow like the installation of ram, add devices, etc. and later, you start to experience unexpected behavior. None of this seems to happen with this issue.

  • How to install windows 7 on a mid-2015 rMBP?

Hello! I have a problem, try to install Windows 7 Pro x 64 via Boot Camp on a mid-2015 rMBP. The laptop came with El Capitan preinstalled that BCA 6.0.1 who does not choose any OS prior to version 8 of Windows. And I really need a Windows 7 for reasons of the software company. Is it possible to persuade the laptop to accept Windows 7 without invoking Voodoo weird software? Certainly, I scoured the forums before posting here, but has not found a solution to my problem.

    Thanks in advance,

If you really need W7 on this particular model, it requires a little bit of Voodoo if Bootcamp is a must. The simplest solution is to use virtualization, and create a virtual of W7 machine.

    Hello

I tried to update my laptop Win8 to Win10, but before that Win 8 must be upgraded to Win8.1 then Win10. Unfortunately, I encountered the problem after you install the free upgrade to WIn10.

I decided to use the system recovery and the source is from my USB.  (I created the USB key recovery).  The restoration was completed and started making configuration suddenly my laptop just because of the excessive heat caused my laptop stop does not complete the installation of windows 8 and finished to get the dialog box of "Windows Installer".

I inserted the USB key, but it seems that its not reading. I tried F2 - mode of the system, but it only shows the Bios and other tests not the usual display of F2.  I haven't tried F11 and same thing no chance.

My question is, how do I make my laptop back to the operating mode as the way to reinstall the entire operating system and HP Recovery Manager or HP configurations.

Do I need to buy a CD of HP recovery my laptop?
