  Hi all

  I got my Curve 8900 for awhile now and love it. Today, if an icon appeared upstairs next to the battery and profiles on the home screen, and it's the number 1 and then a circle with and arrow inside. I guess it's sort of a new download available for something, but I can't find where it is!

  The notice says you have an application that you previously downloaded or purchased in App World > My World, which is ready for an upgrade on your device. Look there for the upgrade.

  To clear the notification on the screen, find the alert message in your main folder, read or delete it.

• How to prevent ' location: ' info appears in Document PDF properties

  Use Distiller to create PDFs from Illustrator EPS files. I managed to prevent the "author:" and "request:" info to be seen in the properties of the PDF Document by changing the Job Options in distilling. Now, I want to warn "location:" view my hard drive directory (C:\Documents and Documents\...\ owner...------blah blah blah). Suggestions?

  The location information is not part of the PDF document. Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader displays the location of the open PDF document.

• IPhoto crashes when I select "info".

  I'm working on OSX 10.8.5 and IPhoto 11 9.4.1

  When I select a photo and choose 'get info', the info appears on the screen, but after a few seconds the IPhoto crashes. This happens every time.

  But I want the info on the screen. Any idea?

  IPhoto no longer crashes, site does not work, but it doesn't bother me too much.

• When I search for businesses, the address appears but is not the phone number. The number is displayed when I use Internet Explorer, so I don't know there is something to block these numbers popping up.

  I'm looking for manufacturing companies. When the info appears, everything is there except the phone number. This does not happen on Internet Explorer, so I know that the problem is inherent to Firefox. Something is blocking the pop up of these phone numbers.

• WAV MP3 VS INFO

  new library of itunes, from scratch.  Imported on the old computer to the old library mp3 songs appear very well with all the info.  Songs imported on the last computer wav files with "replace old files" selected imported fine on the old computer, but when I look at the file in the file that it has no info attached to it.  songs are titled the same, and in the right artist, album folder tree as planned, but do not show up with the cover of the album (easy fix).  but artist and album info appear as empty when they are imported into the library

  In WAV format files do not store track information internally as pretty much any other popular file format.  Search on the website Dougscripts for a script that will assign the track information parsed from the file names if that helps.

  Is there a reason for not to transfer the library from your old computer, including the database library file that contains all the data track?

• I need help to burn a CD - RW with AutoPlay which will not appear.

  I have files on CD - RW I want by burning update new information on the file with the same title, but updated with Word Pad. When I insert the CD a dialog box appears that says "open folder to view files using Windows Explorer." Below, this message is "show more options Auto Play in Control Panel." If I click on the last message I see several options being "Burn files to a disc using Windows Explorer." If I highlight the last message I can't seem to open it. Therefore, I'm stuck with my file Word Pad open that I make changes to, but do not know what works after that to replace the old with the new information. I usually save the changes and try to place them on the file that I already have on the desktop. Once in a while I had the new info to replace the old, but very rarely and by dragging something from the new file. I don't know what I dragged to a successful update. My computer is an ACER Aspire purchased and registered April 30, 2012 and is a model home premium to Windows 7. Harry

• Boring meta-data from vcard/hcard/og appear in the HTML preview

  I added some of my professional contact information in the meta tag in the header area, using Page Properties > Meta Data > HTML for the head. Try to cover all the bases, I created hcard and versions OG, but now the hcard Info appears in all custom html code snippets.

  It does not seem to affect what anyone in the final edition of the site, but it is of course embarrassing to see everywhere. It is also mess with the design. What I'm doing wrong, or am I missing something?

• Satellite L655D-011-HDD/SSD Alert, HARD drive failure?

  I have an old L655D-011 of 6 months and yesterday it started to appear with the message to back up my files because there is a problem with my HARD drive. Well, after having a technical support in the past, I don't give that easily and simply run my laptop to the nearest authorized service center. Instead, I help out.

  I did the BIOS update finally. No change in question.
  Finally had time to create a recovery media. No problem with that at all.
  I reformatted. No change in question.
  Checked the health monitor. It shows that my HARD drive is "good". Yet, when I double-click the icon, I get a pop - up with the following message:

  "Toshiba HDD/SSD Alert."

  So, after that I decided to run a CHKDSK /f /r. Result: 'windows replaced bad clusters in file name \hiberfil.sys 44990.'

  I should be good to go, right? N ° same problem with the precaution of backing up my files.

  But this isn't good, is it? If my HARD drive is about to fail why monitor health show that everything is "good"? There is no problem with gel, pxe.boot errors, rattling disc, unusual vibrations or read/write failures.

  How many people must confirm that they have the same problem? I guess this happens from time to time, but you cannot say that this problem is known.
  You will always find people who noticed the same issue and not on Toshiba forum only, but on all the forums where people discuss cell phones in general.

  You know, during the first backup all your important data, watch carefully what happens the next few days. If the info appears again and again, contact the nearest service Toshiba and let them Exchange the HARD drive.

• network controller wireless not found in win7 hp 15-g020ca

  The wireless controller does not work and has a yellow! in the Device Manager. Win7 has no idea what it is. No driver info appears and nothing is found when driver update is run.

  It is definitely a software problem I can get this works well if I boot from a CD live linux.

  What is your version of XP and the Service Pack?  If you are not sure, do the following:

  Click Start, run and enter in the box:

  It's the FFDShow (a third-party codec) which has an OSD "on the screen.
  Display"setting. To turn off power, either check the FF... next icon
  the windows clock (right-click to select menus)

  Or in WMP, go to the drop down small playing below, click other
  Options of-> DVD-> advanced, and then clear the OSD off

• Cannot print directly from my email box

  I use Yahoo mail and until I got a new laptop with Vista, I can print is no longer e-mails directly. I have to copy and paste the body of the email to a Word document. It's really annoying and tedious to say the least! What happens is the following; When I click on the printer icon, the body of emails appears in a smaller window. I then click to print and my printer info appears, I click it to print. Then another window appears telling me that an unspecified error has occurred. Once this has happened, I'm unable to close all open windows.

  You use Internet Explorer to print your e-mail address or use a different browser?

  If you are using Internet explorer. try to run Internet Explorer in administrator mode and check if you are able to print.

  To run Internet Explorer as an administrator, do the following:

  1. click on start.
  2. click on all programs.
  3. right click on Internet explore and click Run as administrator.

  Also try to disable the protected mode and check if you are able to print from the Internet Explore.

  To disable the function Protected mode follow the steps below:

  1. open Internet Explorer 7.
  2. in Internet Explorer 7 command bar, click on tools, then Internet Options.
  3. in the Internet Options window, click the Security tab.
  4. below for the security level for this zone area, and directly above to customize the level and default level buttons, clear the Enable Protected Mode check box.
  Note: Disable protected Mode requires a restart of Internet Explorer 7, as you could see next to the check box in this step.
  5. click OK in the Internet Options window.
  6. If you are prompted with a warning! the dialog box informing that the current security settings put your computer at risk, click the OK button.
  7. close Internet Explorer 7 and then open it again to the top.
  8. repeat to visit web sites that caused your problems see if resetting the security settings Internet Explorer 7 on your computer helped.

• Sorting of songs by year in media player

  Sort songs by year.

  I use to be able to click on the songs and then I could list all the songs and arange annually. now I get the album with the type icon year & muisc all in a colume. How to return to how it was? I have to be able to click on the songs and then years. When I added a mixed cd as a greatest hits, I use it to corect for all years just songs, now I con not do this info appears when I click on the songs. I have the two wmp 11 & 12 on different computers. Help, please. I really hate do not have total control over my music, I have a lot and now I can't see it as easy as was done before my vista crashed, but now it seems the same way on windows 7.
