Migrate from Windows Vista to a larger disk on my computer

I have Windows Vista installed on my C: drive and you want to upgrade to Windows 7.  However, I have lack of free space on the partition of tis to allow an upgrade.  I have other drives on my computer that have enough free space on them.  Can I migrate a larger partition Vista disk and that would then allow me to upgrade to Windows 7 without having to reinstall all my software etc.. ?

Hello Hudson,

I "think" you can simply do a "Custom" installation and have Windows 7 install on the second hard drive. This will leave of course Windows Vista still available... Dual Boot. You can then format the partition Vista is on after the migration of your data. For accreditation purposes, you are supposed to only have a version to install... hense the "Upgrade".

Here is an article that covers this senario http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/clean_install_upgrade_media.asp
