  so far I've migrated user and then of RPD and Catalog Security.

  2. impossible to RPD open online with weblogic user id mode.

  3 and get the following error when opening dashboard and reports.

  AMT: could not resolve the connect identifier specified in the call to the OIC OCIServerAttach. [nQSError: 17014] Cannot connect to the Oracle database. (HY000)

  So I have a question while I am troubleshooting these errors.

  so we must migrate us the database schema / clone of database from one server to another server?

  I was "assessment" OBIEE perfect on a test server small for awhile where I did considerable work on the two reports of the writing. development of dashboards, user security configuration and architecture of data needed in the physical layers / business model and presentations in administration of BI.

  Lowest level: copy of the catalogue of the RPD and web on the other server, set the NQSConfig.ini and instanceconfig.xml and off you go.

  That's assuming you don't have change web messages, add custom images or files, change the styles or skins, you're still pointing to the same data sources etc. etc.

• Migration Assistant tips - model 2009 to 2016 New

  I would like to use the Migration Wizard to move date of old new iMac, but was one could move "crud".  Any advice?

  Old machine is 2009 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running 10.8.5.  It may be shocking slow (more than a minute to answer a click sometimes).  Concern that the hard drive may be out.  I used Migration Assistant to least an older eMac it before and quite possible an original iMac before that.  So there are many old things lurking there in.

  I've already implemented the new machine slot a new name (some say bad idea).  However, new machine has been used for web and e-mail Web since he was pulled up.  So maybe I can go and rename?

  I don't have a ton of time to move much more than the docs if I don't use MY that I don't have time to learn all the intricacies of what lies where.

  I have an ESX in Location1 hosting models. I have another group of ESX in Loacation2. I want to deploy an an ESX virtual computer in guest place.2 from a model of Location1.

  We have a firewall located between 1 location and location two. ESX on the two Sites is managed by a server on Location1 vCentre.

  The firewall has already 902,903,443,27010 and 27000 open between vCentre server and the LAN of guests place.2. However we can not yet deploy vms in lcoation2 of the models of location1.

  I read something that was rather vague on the opening of the port 902 between ESX on different areas of FW. Can anyone confirm if it's it's it stop working. I have to open 902 Port TCP and UDP between two LANs in both sense? Also is there anything else that needs opening between them. We do not HA, DRS and vMotion to present as all virtual machines are the local storage.

  No, none that I know. Maybe someone else has.

  I forgot to say: I would really not the road to copy + paste the SQL files and just using them as direct database calls unless all you want is a replica 1:1 in a list. Which is not actually operate it you were doing in the RPD except to reuse the connection pool and you could do it manually.

  Also: you would simply be duplicate SQL with transformations and aggregations that are more extensive in the RPD and completely ignorant/cut out any "technical advanatage" as simple forumals re-use, aggregations, derived columns/action/whatever.

  I fear that Oracle failed to conversion of the discoverer in OBIEE workbooks. It is still on the radar, but they have nothing.

  For some of my clients, it's a huge setback. I have a client who has more than 32,000 discoverer workbooks and adding more at a rate of about 5 000 per year. Obviously, a customer of this size is a potential customer for OBIEE. The only thing they can do now is to rewrite all the reports.

  To this would be a huge task and I did some math for them. Let's say you can rewrite a report every 15 minutes, to test and parallel runs. So you can convert 4 in an hour or a full day 32. 32 32 000 Diviiding means that they would need to allocate 1,000 days-men for the task. Knowing that, on average, a person works about 220 days a year and you are looking at about 5 years of human, not including potentially 1000's of new discoverer workbooks that were created at this time. Needless to say that my client is not happy with Oracle and refuse to engage in this way stick with the discoverer.

  I know for a fact, this company is not alone and I personally urge Oracle to allocate resources to correctly convert the discoverer workbooks. I know part of the problem is that there are things that discoverer takes his cruising speed OBIEE cannot do or has great difficulty with. I don't see how you can convert up to OBIEE customers can do everything that Finder can do.

  Thoughts anyone?

• How to migrate a model of data from 4.0.1 to 4.0.3?

  I just started to use to shape this week.  I have a data model that is registered in the default workspace under the 4.0.1 area.  I installed the 4.0.3 version in a separate area.  How can I migrate the data model to the 4.0.3 4.0.1?  Just copy the top-level .dmd file and the directory of the default in the 4.0.3 4.0.1 deafult workspaces?

You can copy the file design.dmd and design directory to another location and started working with DM 4.0.3 here or you can work at the place where he is now. • OBIEE 11.1.1.7 have reported "no data found" on data table columns

  Creates a data source jdbc using the 'Manage the Sources of private data' button, then a model of data using this data source and some sql codes.  Sample recorded data.  Trying to create reports OBIEE, but when I drag the columns on the data model, they appear in the table of data as any data found: / COLUMN_PATH

  When I try to run reports, they end up error, does not display any data.

  If I use BI Publisher reports on this data model, those that work very well.

  I can't imagine even where you have found a way to create an analysis using a BI Publisher data model as a source.

  BI Publisher reports against BI Publisher data model works very well = this is the expected behavior.

  What/where/how do you do your analysis OBIEE?

  I've migrated reports Discoverer using the export/import option. After the opening of reports in the new instance, I get the following error for some reports:

  Try to re-importation and correspondence on names and see if that helps.

  Seen end-user metadata layer out of sync and maintained in place more than one is a recipe for disaster. The best way to develop the discoverer of metadata is to have an environment of three floors with development, test and Production.

  You never add new metadata to Production without Test, which in turn is migrated development migration. Adding new metadata in Production will cause the unique ID to update. The next time that you are migrating test, checking the box corresponding to the identifiers will cause problems. Of course if you also take the time to make sure that even the identifiers are unique so you won't have any problems.
