Mini Compaq CQ10 - 514 is looping without end, recovery, and verification of the BIOS

When the laptop was turned on it is initialized in a screen announcing that an update of the BIOS of HP had taken place.

However he said then there was a problem. "THE system BIOS is damaged and needs to be recovered but must be connected to an external power supply." Connected alternating current, then it goes to "system BIOS is recovering" and continues to load. Then he performs a check and indicates "recovery is over and press to complete.

After 25 seconds. update of the BIOS screen is displayed again indicating that the BIOS is being recovered. This update cycle, check and restart continues to always (all day). Pressing ESC didn't break it. Pressing the button while pressing the Windows key + B is not recognized.

remove the battery and common alternative for an extended period does not help that the cycle continues to restart. What is the market to follow recommended action?

Thought I would update this for the sake of others with similar issues.

Support HP told me to restore the default BIOS by pressing F10 when the delivered system running. Unfortunately, the system does not recognize the key and immediately went in the loop described previously.

At the end of the day, I returned the PC to the store where you bought it. Technical support told me there was nothing they could do and it would go back to HP so that it sets. So, basically, it was bricked.

However the tech guy has decided to experiment and found that remove the small coin of size internal CMOS battery it caused the Mini back to deafult factory BIOS and the device is back to normal.

Lessons learned: do not automatically update the BIOS. When all else fails try to remove the internal CMOS battery.

  • Loop without end of connection/re-auth in Wordpress - with Firefox only

    Hi all

I have a problem in some installations of WP for a long time.

In Firefox only, I am stuck in a loop of waiting/session connection timeout.

I go to the admin... It shows me the login screen, I have the connection with a known and username working and pass, and then he comes back to the login screen again. It is continuous and I can connect often not at all.

From time to time when I can connect as soon as I go to save a message, I get tossed back to the login screen.

More if I have more than one tab open on these sites, I'll get the WP session expiration dialog box. I connect again through this dialog box, but within seconds, the expired session dialog box will pop up.

I cleared the browser cache, deleted cookies, disable plugins cache etc etc... but can not find a solution to this problem.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thank you all.

We found the problem... and it wasn't Firefox (directly).

Our host added varnish - software accelerator/cache http - to sites concerned with our problem.

Remove the varnish removed the problem.

  • reboot/restart loop without end after installation

Firefox suggested the update of the United Nations, I said okay and got the Firefox Setup 8.0 file in my downloads (details: data of version 4.42.0.0 of Firefox Mozilla file 2011-11-14 to 21:26 size 14.0 MB).

We have 100 + accesspoints which are unaffected by the upgrade, but 2 accesspoints give me the same problem.

Any ideas as what to try?

-I would recommend that you use a browser to connect to your access point. The first page after logon has a good summary of the State of all interfaces.

-For the mistake of WCS: are you using the same strings of SNMP and versions on WCS and on the AP? They must match (but I have never tried to add a point to independent access to the WCS).

  • I have a tree without end of links that I can't get rid of

A few days ago I tried to use robocopy to do a backup of my "User" folder on another laptop computer in network. Unfortunately, I forgot to use the /XJD. switch Now I have a 500 GB drive that is saturated due to an endless loop of records "Application Data" nested in the other with a casual Adobe folder thrown in. I tried to manually delete the directory tree but get him "...". path is too long.. "error in Windows. I get similar questions in a command prompt cmd by using RD (remove directory).

I tried to use the script at the address, use robocopy again to remove the folder through /mir below switch structure. Yet once, it failed after 12 min due to the track being too long. Whenever I run the batch file, the run time keeps getting shorter and I am always left with a folder tree without end of the 'Application Data' folder. I managed to release 100 GB in this way, but I still could not get rid of the folder.
I would like to avoid formatting the drive as he always gave him on it that I want and no place to put it right now. If I have to format the drive, just wait until I can pick up a spare part in the future to move the data off the coast.
Does anyone have a suggestion how to remove this link of circular reference directory?

  • High utilization of the processor and Windows without end research update

I worked with computers for my whole life.  I'm 7 courses away from completing my bachelor's degree in ITM to include coming soon obtaining of Certifications.  This problem, on one of the computers in my own office, cause me endless frustrations as well as the fact that me, unable to find and implement a solution helps me feel completely incompetent.  Me reaching out to everyone here is a terrible blow for I feel on my own knowledge base because it seems as if the fix can be easy, and I feel as if I am missing something obvious.  That being said here is the issue I am running in:

On my Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, I have no intention of upgrading for various reasons, I notice that my CPU usage and the physical memory usage vary from 60% to almost 100% when I run no applications, which is a more recent symptom and severely hampers my system.  After having reduced the problem of the use to only one of the "svchost.exe" process and the "wuauserv" Service within this process labeled as Windows Update, I confirmed that it was this Service initially at least the question of the use of the CPU by arresting him, I went ahead and ran a manual update of Windows only to find out he's looking for new updates constantly.  The ever green status bar stops moving, or it never gets past that point.  First of all, I advanced and erased the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, after you stop the Services, than to have the same problem.  I have never received any type of error on the part of Windows Update code he has yet to reach a point of not not looking for updates.  I also have the chance to try to remove some updates recently installed in an effort to clear all possible corrupt files so that they can be reinstalled to no effect.  The same problem persists.  I am confident, it is a problem of Windows Update and also confident, it's a registry problem, but I struggle to trust one of the edition of solutions that I met in my quest for answers to the registry.  Also, I noticed that after having messed around with patches previously indicated, that my Documents Word from Microsoft do not open when I double-click on it, however, I am still able to open Word and open an existing document to the program itself.  This is a very new symptom, and I'm not sure if it's related.  It is my hope that a new installation of Windows won't be necessary.

Please let me know diagnostic programs I might need to run to narrow down the issue.  Thanks in advance for all the help I can get on this.

    Hi Llysanth:

If your initial "check for updates..." Windows Update crashes during long periods without raising an error, this is a widespread problem currently affecting many SP2 of Vista and Win 7 SP1 users.  On my Vista 32 bit system, I see a constant consumption of ~ 50% of my CPU by Windows Update (wuauserv) service which runs under the svchost.exe process (i.e., the saturation full of one of my two hearts) during thecheck for updates...'and Sysinternals Process Explorer shows that the Windows Update Agent (c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll) consumes all CPU - to see my images in Kayla77 thread processes in the Manager during updates tasks to day in the VistaForums.

Some users find 'verification of the updates... ' will be held eventually in the end if you let it run for several hours, but there is also a workaround solution posted on the page Web of Dalai to http://wu.krelay.de/en/ that accelerates the Windows Update for the affected users. Of workaround requires users to install the updated Windows kernel mode driver (Win32K.sys) listed on this webpage so one is missing from your system before running Windows Update.  I used Dalai for the latest Patch workaround three Tuesdays (the second Tuesday of each month) and has reduced my search for 'check for updates...' updates available for 6 or 7 hours up to approx. 25 min.

The step by step instructions Posted June 16, 2016 wire m #l's updates works do not, he has been looking for updates to the hours are based on workaround of Dalai and will guide you through the installation process of packages update stand-alone (.msu files) for your updates Win32K.sys missing.

As of today page is Web (August 31, 2016) the current list of updates Win32K.sys on Dalai: KB3078601 (rel. 18 August 2015); KB3109094 (rel. 7 December 2015); KB3145739 (rel. 12 April 2016); KB3164033 (rel. June 14, 2016); KB3168965 (rel. July 12, 2016); KB3177725 (rel. 9 August 2016). Just install updates are missing from your system, so if you have been fully patched at the end of July 2016 you need to manually install the latest KB3177725 (MS16-098: a security update for the Windows Kernel-Mode drivers: 9 August 2016) before you run Windows Update to install your remaining August 2016 Patch Tuesday updates.

Dalai has posted General information that explains why the Windows Update Agent is currently suspended during the "checking for updates..." Windows Update.

    EDIT:

My apologies to Volume Z.  I don't see your post on KB3177725 until I submitted my response.

  • Importing Photos without end in double - help!

Hi all, I'm desperately need help, so please can you help me...

Whenever I connect my iPhone or iPad to my Macbook Air, all software up to date on all devices, the Photos under OS X app offers to import the same (sometimes hundreds) photos that I've already imported a zillion times in my library. I find myself with so many duplicates in my photo library, it ends up a total mess!

I use iCloud photo library on all devices. Do I need to keep importing photos from my iOS device? I thought all photos taken with any camera will be automatically downloaded on iCloud photo library and close up on my Mac and my local library. Is this correct or should I keep the box "import photos" checked in the Photos app? Most people seem to think that must be kept.

If so, what should I do to stop these imports double without end ? It makes me crazy!

    Thank you

    David

No, you don't need to import - doing so will create duplicates

If you use ICPL then all libraries are kept in sync all the time and you do not manual is important to all

    Hello

a friend of mine apperantely has some problems with its Tecra 9100 and he asked me if I could help him. Maybe some of you guys know what this could be... I'll post his original comments to e-mail on the situation:

"When I start the computer it keeps restart indefinitely, it is not answered none of F8 and do not accept any CD I get into the BIOS and ask from CD, but without success.

"I went into the BIOS and something and now he told me
LAN adapter failed media test. Please check cable and reboot the system (cable only I plugged the Power one) I can't get out of this when it reboot. »

I'll try to get my hands on him by phone today so I can get a better description of the problem. But maybe some of you know what could be the problem.

    Thank you
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,.

The message that appears during the startup process, which would indicate that is the boot sequence is incorrect and the laptop tries to start from a lan device, or there is a problem with access to a HARD drive or bootable CD.

I first try to access the BIOS boot screen (press ESC as soon as appears the screen flash Toshiba) and check that the initial MESSAGE is successful, then access the BIOS (F2) Setup and carefully check all the settings to ensure they are compatible with the laptop.

Finally, I would like to check the boot sequence so that CD-ROM followed by HARD drive as the first two points. (You can of course put HDD first, I prefer just CD first me).
