mini factory settings help from HP.

I have a HP MINI 110-1030NR I'm trying yo reset to factory settings. However I don't know if the previous owner installed a different operating system from the original. What can I do?

No matter what the previous owner may have installed, it will be all erased and replaced by factory settings.

You should go to the homepage of the computer, look for the model number and review the steps to run a restore factory or recovery.

After having restored the original factory programs, return to the homesite and see if there were new versions of software, patches, fixes, updates, and Driver for the computer.

Is it possible to reset to factory settings complete with recovery or partition without a name?

    > Is it possible to reset to factory settings complete with recovery or partition without a name?

In General, you have two options:
Either you try to retrieve the laptop using recovery disk as described here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
or you will recover the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk which you likely has not been created in the past using Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. Right.

Well, if the recovery of HARD drive does not work (whatever the reason), then you must use the recovery disc. If recover disk has not been created in the past, you can order the CD here:

  • Need help with laptop back to factory settings

can someone help me on how to put my laptop back to factory settings

    Hello

It would help if you told us your laptop brand and operating system.

This is general information on how to do it:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall using the recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the hard drive Partition reinstall back to how you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    See you soon.

  • You try to reset the Acer Aspire One mini computer laptop to the factory settings (xp)

I have a mini-netbook Acer Aspire One with Windows XP. There is no CD drive.

I enabled d2d in bios menu, and then click Restart I use the alt + f10 as instructed, Nothing helps - it creates is a horrible beep or mark a break on a mainly black frozen screen and a few small images scrambled to the top.

I bought only the laptop computer 2nd hand and I fear there may be spyware on it - it does not open programs such as Acer eRecovery Management or AVG 8.5. And due to the fact he does not allow me to use google chrome/firefox, but a somewhat obscure version of Internet Explorer.

With these factors, a reset to factory settings is my best result and what id prefer.

  • Help! Reset AlienwareM14xR2 to factory settings!

    I need help here.

I want to reset my Alienware M14xR2 to factory settings, which can be easily made using AlienRespawn If AND ONLY if I have my original hard drive, but I've already changed my hard drive because it has detected a hard drive failure and needs to be replaced which was changed for free because my laptop was still under warranty.

Initially, my laptop runs Windows 8 Operating System, and I upgraded to 8.1 through Store Windows, which I've learned lately that Windows 8.1 is not yet stable and makes the PC PC/Refresh Reset does not work in the ' CHANGE PC SETTINGS > UPDATE AND RECOVERY > RECOVERY. "

I tried the new installation of Windows 8, but it says "no device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click Ok' and after clicking 'OK', he says 'driver Media your computer needs is missing. It could be a driver DVD, USB or HDD. If you have a CD, DVD or USB flash drive with the driver on this subject, please insert it now. »

This part is where I do not understand because I only have the CD/DVD is in Alienware M14xR2 Resource DVD and the Alienware drivers and utilities which is when I tried to insert it, it is said that this isn't the CD/DVD they are looking. WHAT NOW? I NEED to reset my laptop to its factory settings Please HELP!

Thank you for your reply Sir natakuc4 but I was able to reset my PC already and I expect to re-install my drivers but I was not asked to maybe because it is part of the Microsoft PC reset feature.

NOTE: ignore quotes("") double, it is included to focus on what you want to see/type/click on your screen

Here is the solution how to work ' Reset/Refresh PC' on Windows 8.1 which is updated for Windows 8.0 operating system.

first is to create a recovery partition (which is I do not know why it is required by Microsoft well in fact, if your goal is to remove everything and start from scratch and need no recovery partition.)

There is an easy way to create the recovery Partition in Windows 8/8.1 press 'START' and then tap the search field "Recovery" and press "Enter".
    It will open this window

then click on 'Create A recovery disk '.

for those who upgrade Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1 that box will be dimmed or turned OFF which is my problem in all first, because you cannot create a recovery partition which is needed to make the "refresh/Reset PC running.

so here's the SOLUTION alternative and BETTER! to create a recovery on Windows8.1 partition
    1. Press the "Windows".
    2. Type "cmd" in the box "search".
    3. Right click and "Run As Administrator" (simply press 'Yes' on the window that opens)

    You should now see this

    There, CAREFULLY follow THE STEPS!

    type the following command

    1. mkdir (space) C:\REFRESHIMAGE press 'ENTER', this will create the folder to the recovery on your C: drive or Local disk partition c for the layman term
    2. recimg (space) - CREATEIMAGE (space) C:\REFRESHIMAGE press "Enter", it will create the image in the folder named "REFRESHIMAGE".

Note: (space) indicates that there is a space between the command

    3. you should now have this view

Wait until it has finished and a file in the 'C:\REFRESHIMAGE' will be created with a name of "CustomRefresh.wim".

    Rename it to "INSTALL.wim".

then create a folder on C:

Name the folder as Win8.1 - recovery

copies the file renamed to "INSTALL.wim" in C:\Win8.1-Recovery

After that, you will be very well make it into the 'PC Reset/Refresh' or by creating a recovery drive without going through the box grayed out in the process.

  • Help! How to restore factory settings?

I recently got a Toshiba 32 w / windows 7 from a friend. Needless to say, he has a lot of info from the previous owner (it works really slow and jerky). Also the old name of owners, passwords and other information arise from time to time. How to make a restore of the entire computer to factory settings? I would basically to zero and all do it again myself. Thanks for your help. Ronie

Restoration is not a function of Windows, but installed utility from the manufacturer of your computer or a hidden partition restore restore disks that were made when the computer was new.

I would like to Google your model of computer for instructions.

The only safe option is to perform a factory restore. If you do not, then you are likely to be confronted with a machine that is seriously infected or was hacked. Have a look here for instructions:

  • removed from my drive hard to the factory settings but saved the FF record I can / how can I import bookmarks?

due to a virus or something that I had to wipe my computer to its factory settings, but before I did, I made a copy of the FF in my programs. is it possible to import my favorites folder? and how would I do it?

If you have saved the Firefox installation directory (default location C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) you lost your bookmarks.

Bookmarks and other data from the user are stored in the profile folder, on Windows XP, it is normally located inside this folder - C:\Documents and Settings\ < Windows user/login name > \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

If you saved the profile folder, you can use the process in the article of the recovery of data from an old profile to copy the files to your current profile folder.
