  EDIT: What year is your iMac? See if your iMac is supported by the target Display Mode using the link below. If your iMac, you can use a port Mini screen Mini display port cabe using your iMac on your MacBook Pro screen. I hope this helps!

  P.S. The target Display Mode feature does work through Thunderbolt or Mini display port, you can do this via Firewire, as is any other protocol used to transfer files, not for input/output display.

  Yes, Yes, I know.  But it seems that the new X 220 will be robust enough and even if it is the bridge of the integrated graphics, sand looks promising.

  The displayport interface is supposed to offer the support of multiple monitors by itself with an adapter. Look at the displayport technology and see if it will work for you. I had trouble finding monitors with displayport well. I think that a group of suppliers have agreed to remove the VGA port in the future. You should probably look into that as well.

  Choice of hardware warranty thoughts:

  One thing to remember, the Lenovo warranty applies only to Lenovo hardware purchase or authorized retailer. Parts such as memory, hard drives, wifi cards, etc... (guaranteed batteries are a special case). Certainly, some companies hard drive offers its own guaranteed, and it may be the case even for memory as well. Just be careful to not voiding your warranty of Lenovo computer if you decide to tinker with after purchase.

With a few new games, the x 201 is a little bit short meeting that minimum listing some on high end games. I don't see a problem with graphically work art packages. Video editing and programming of business applications should not be a problem either. Presentations on the VGA port with some projectors may have some problems. Give yourself pletty of the time of the installation if you have not used the front projector. The spotlight will not be a problem with the x 220.

  Thoughts of discrete graphics:

  I think that high-end desktop graphics are crazy and ridiculous now. Consumption requirements is like having two separate computers. Do not forget, that most of the highend stuff takes two LONG slits of a desktop machine. There are liquid cooled by a slot options, but mainly things like using too much power. That apply to your laptop, and you'd probably need to carry a car battery to do the job. The 220 x is not a portable game uber kind of stuff requires a lot more circuits and cooling systems. The 220 x is in the ultraportable category.

  Thoughts of operating system:

  I think that Windows 8 may be available next year some time. It is supposed to support chips ARM based in addition to what we have now. Looks like a hairball 32-bit, 64-bit and now ARM.

  Thoughts of external Port:

  Port Thunderbolt Intel looks like a winner for external speed in the future. Port Thunderbolt Intel is assumed initially twice as fast in the Port of USB 3.0 and increase from there in the future. Maybe a 221 x would get the Port Thunderbolt Intel in the future, but I don't know about it.

  Other ideas of calculation:

  Waiting always seems to give a better option for the calculation, but then again your not to make any progress in the meantime. I just helped my mother buy a Thinkpad Edge of a store selling retail knowing that the second generation I have carrots go roll. She had to get up to speed on Thinkpad T43 was just too slow and the CPU fan was wrong. The computer on which she had lived a hard life for several years. I don't have a Windows 7 pagefile on my machine, and I do not miss. I don't think that the new battery slice that snaps at the bottom of the laptop will spread for the 220 x. Most probably the normal battery or one extended would be preferable. A docking station is pretty painless and works well for me. Still, I haven't that K 1 Blu - Ray recorder so.

  After the upgrade to Sierra, I can't sync my hotmail account in Mail.

  Before even the upgrade, I always had to change my account after each restart settings, as required for authentication SMTP and IMAP user name has been deleted. The same thing happens after the upgrade, but now when I enter the user name and press save I have error message say: A IMAP account already exists.  Only one IMAP account is allowed to be saved.

  I just bought a new monitor 27 "U2713HM which supports a resolution of 2560 x 1440.

  Computer video card notebook (GTX 460 m) supports a resolution higher than through a digital connection, so I used a HDMI cable to connect.

  Via Control Panel Nvidia, I could create a custom resolution, but the image is not clear / is blurred.
  It is readable, but it's just not everything.

  Tried with HDMI 1.4, without success.
  I volunteered to connect through Dual Link DVI cable, but the phone doesn't have a DVI connector, and I doubt the adapter will help.

  Anyone has a suggestion how to fix this problem?

  I would like to share my experience using an external monitor with a HDMI cable.
  My monitor supports both HDMI and DVI port.
  First of all, I plugged my laptop on the external monitor using a HDMI cable to HDMI.
  But the fonts and the picture was not clear. I used the resolution 1920 x 1080

  Then I went to the DVI port. I plugged the laptop s HDMI port to monitor s port DVI (HDMI/DVI cable) and that solved my problem.
