missing audio waveforms

I finished editing audio in my project and wanted to add some videos of slow motion of another project, so I imported this sequence and use cmd + r to play with the speed of the video. I would like however to refine the audio (an interview consisting of a few speeches, no music) and they showed me how to adjust the audio waveforms by using keyframes (called audio attenuation I think). But when they showed me this technique they dragged all the audio track low down and wave appeared in the track. This does not happen in mine, and I want to know if I've accidentally changed a few settings, or I did to disable something?

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 03.26.37.png

I searched online and descriptions in old threads (CS6 and before) who say there is a speaker icon in the audio track with a triangle coming down the waveforms. But I don't see any of this in my calendar.

This menu item is checked?

  • Audio waveform disappears from the Source Panel?

I'm editing files wav for a project in the current version of first CC.  The first time I open the file of the audio waveform appears as usual in the Panel Source, but when I return to him (after the opening of a different audio file), all I see is a blank screen (blue), where the waveform must be. The clip will play normally, I can hear it and I put in and out of the points, etc, but the waveform is missing.  If I switch to the display of "Audio", it will re - appear, then process again (but when I return to the edit view, he is still missing).  If I run the program again, it comes in first, and then the problem starts again...  I'm on an iMac of the retina with an SSD, all files are currently on this same machine.

Thanks a lot for any advice you can provide.

Yes, it is a known problem that we address in a future update. In the meantime, you can get the waveforms to return for a music video responsible notably for the scaling of the zoom just below bar of the time scale. Annoying, Yes, but again once we will have this work in an update.

  • How to switch to the display of the audio waveform in the source Panel

    I use 8.1.0 (81) first Pro CC 20141 on a PC.

I am a tutorial on Lynda.com and the version used in the video is not quite as up-to-date as mine.

They recommend clicking on the list of options in the tab of the Panel from the Source to switch to more specifically audio waveform display Insert and to the point-based dialogue in the audio.

Problem is, the list of options on the Panel of my Source does not include something audio waveform.

Am I missing something? They did it move? Or maybe I have the wrong tool selected (is that a context menu which changes according to what the tool is selected?)?

    Two other options:

-Right-click in the Source monitor, select view > Audio Waveform

-In the Source monitor, click the settings... key icon (on the bottom right) and choose the Audio waveform.

I had to install a new hard drive because of a bad virus. I reinstalled windows xp service pack 3 but now seem to be missing audio drivers. I can't play any cd or dvd or any video of music stored on my pc etc. DELL INSPIRON 9400.

Help any one please, I'm not a magician to pc.

If you have reinstalled, you may have a few other drivers too (such as video).

In Dell's Support page, you can drill down, you're article Inspiron 4000 and find the drivers here:

I'm not sure which one you need for your system, so if you still cannot understand this, do this and maybe we can see what kind of audio device your system has:

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

For information about the audio drivers, expand components, click Sound Device, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

  • Generate Audio waveforms

    Hello

I've searched the forums and couldn't find an answer.

I have a nested sequence, and I would like to be able to see the audio waveform for help with editing. It does not appear even after that I used the "Generate Audio Waveform" function on the Clip tab in the menu bar. This function seems to do nothing at all in fact.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you!

  • First Pro CC showing no audio waveform

Hey people. Student filmmaker here working on my senior film. I use Premiere Pro intensively for 3 years and initially I could expand my audio track to show the audio waveform. Now, no dice. For about a year that I've struggled with this question. Once, I found a solution, but it certainly doesn't now.

I use the latest version of Premiere Pro and working mainly on my Sony A7s XACS images, but I've also used a Canon 60 d H.264 images.

Appreciate the help in advance. It would be nice to put this issue to bed.

    See you soon,.

    Just check here:

You have the automatic generation of audio waveform checked in the preferences?

You show a waveform under the key verified in the timeline?

  • Audio waveform does not display setting Audio Layer

I am using the plugin to waveform audio AE for the first time, and the setting of Audio Layer does not appear.

    audio-waveform.gif

Audio plays well in AE.  No idea why that is not displayed and how?  Thank you.

I understood what is the cause of the problem but have no idea why.  I have a text layer with a bunch of pseudo code created to Hacker Typer if I delete this layer then layer Audio property is displayed in the plugin.  Also, if I wipe the text on that layer and replace it with something like 'test' setting appears.  It's weird because the audio waveform plugin is on a completely separate layer and I do not know why the source text of a different layer would cause that to happen.  Well, at least I know what is the cause and a workaround can understand.

  • Audio waveforms extended but not visible.

I'm in first CC 2015 on a macbook pro 2014. For some reason, my audio waveforms will appear in the source monitor, but will not be displayed in the timeline panel. What makes the audio synchronization very difficult for me, and I was wondering if anyone could offer advice. I tried to empty the memory cache media, copy the project and audio redisplay after each change. Always nothing.

    Here's a screenshot of my question: http://imgur.com/tCdGbeT

Near the upper left of your timeline is a "key" icon Click on it and make sure that "Show Audio Waveform" is committed.

  • With newly added audio waveforms not displayed.

    Hey there.

I'm in first Pro CC on a Mac with os x version 10.11.4 and I'm editing a show where I shoot sequences of multiple images from different cameras .mov files. I have a model to show with the opening credits and end and whatnot I did, and the waveforms of these pieces make their appearance perfectly, but the new images that I am pulling in has no form of wave, I need a lot to match shots.

By the other discussion forums on similar problems, I have restarted first, restarted my computer, checked that 'Show Audio Waveform' is checked, checked the "generation of the advanced automatic file" is checked in the preferences, and, Yes, my audio clips are developed for any waveform. They do not arise if I zoomed in a lot, they do not show in the source monitor. Someone said also me they had this coming and he gives a few minutes to load properly fixed, but there has been quite some time now, so I don't think it is either. But the audio DOES not work. No problem to hear it, just don't need to be able to see it, too!

I did this same post EXACT change several times with the same model and the same types of files and never had problems like this before, so I'm very frustrated that this is happening all at once. In the attached picture you can see that this last clip has no waveform, but made one on his left and also the tiny little footsteps of 3rd and 4th below them.

Any help is much appreciated - thank you!

If you look in the lower right of your screenshot you can see it says "generate file pic...". ». This creates the waveform, where this bar is your waveform displayed. A big piece of media takes longer to generate the waveform.

  • Audio waveforms not appearing not

We have ingested just a bunch of sequences ARRI Amira, and audio waveforms are not displayed in the timeline. This also happens with other types of images. This slows down the creation of a subelement to the point of making insignificant prelude because we have to watch the whole clip now. Why this keeps happening, even in version 4.3?

    Hi Greg,.

    Sorry for the problem.

I tried to isolate this problem. According to me, the problem lies mainly on the roughcuts with clips of long duration.

I'm not at this disappearance of waveform with some short clips. Do you feel the same way?

in any case, I refer to the problem with my team. We will certainly consider this.

Thanks for pointing it. Continue to write in case of problems.

    I hope it helps.

    Thank you

  • Keyboard shortcuts for the video Composite and Audio Waveform

I work in Premiere Pro CS6 on Mac OS 10.10.5. I am constantly switch between views video Composite and Audio Waveform in the Source monitor Panel. To do this, I have to use the mouse to click on the key icon, and then select one of the points just at the top of the context menu. My workflow would be so much faster if there was a keyboard shortcut.

The official page of default keyboard shortcuts indicates no shortcut for these menu items. Mac OS system preferences > keyboard > shortcuts [shortcuts App] allows me to create shortcuts for application specific menu items, but not for context menus.

Is there, however, a way that I can tell Premiere Pro CS6 to use a keyboard shortcut for the video Composite and Audio Waveform views?

You can create your own... If you scroll the list link you to that, there is the Source section of monitor... which has options short keyboard available for your two wishes:

Then, use Cmd / Alt + K to do your editing of the keyboard shorts... Scroll way down to find this section, then create a short. At the bottom, it will tell you if it comes into conflict with one another. Here I come to make Composite video, abbreviated as CC2015.2:

By clicking on the line to the right of the effect you want to order makes these empty lines appear the "x" you will see in this view... click again and you can start typing your proposed short. If your entry on this line is already in use, will appear this very practical warning:

So... do you some useful shorts!

Looks like without the audio element is a nested element.  You will need to restore the audio signal in order to see the wave forms.

  • Audio waveform is * not * show in nest

I'm working on a project of three cameras multicam in first CC 9.2.0.  I synced everything up in a sequence of source multi cameras and all six audio tracks show waveforms.  When I drag this sequence to the "new item" icon to make a nested sequence multicam, audio waveforms disappear.

Audio waveforms 'show' is selected in the timeline panel for the two sequences and, obviously, the waveforms have been generated.  That is what it is?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

  • New to first... How to still see the audio waveform when dragging a clip?

I just installed the trial of first Pro CC and trying to familiarize myself with the program. I can't find how to make the audio waveform visible while dragging a clip, so that I can synchronize with other audio waveform. Thank you.

    Hi Avène,

AFAIK, you can't see the waveform by dragging, but a faster and more accurate way would be not not to drag, but to familiarize themselves with the hotkeys to clips slip and slide

and use for this task: (you see the waveform by pushing, dragging and dragging)

    These are the default shortcuts:

    PC MAC

Drag the Clip left selection five images

    ALT + SHIFT +.

    Opt + shift +.

Drag the Clip left selection an image

    ALT +.

    Opt +.

Drag the Clip right selection five images

    ALT + SHIFT +.

    Opt + shift +.

Selection of right slide Clip an image

    ALT +.

    Opt +.

Slip Clip left selection five images

    CTRL + Alt + Shift + left

    Opt + Cmd + Shift + left

Slip Clip left selection of an image

    CTRL + Alt + left

    Opt + Cmd + left

Clip of slip right selection five images

    CTRL + Alt + shift + right

    Opt + Cmd + shift + right

Selection of Clip of slip on the right a picture

    CTRL + Alt + right

    Opt + Cmd + right

Move the Clip selection left five images

    ALT + SHIFT + left

    Command + shift + left

Move the Clip left selection an image

    ALT + left

    Cmd + left

Move the Clip right selection five images

    ALT + SHIFT + right

    Command + shift + right

Selection of boost right of an image Clip

    ALT + right

    Cmd + right

Once you understand these controls, you align clips much faster and easier!
