Missing child Parent in a merge WebHelp TOC TOC (RoboHTML Version 9.0.2.271)

Years, I have used Mr Grainge excellent document for fusion Help RoboHTML 8 to produce a WebHelp TOC. Recently I discovered that a child was left out of the merged TOC. Following the instructions (merging the child in the parent TOC, by generating the parent and generating the child) the child does not appear in the parent TOC. I get all the other children, but not the new.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried to rebuild all to a new location?

Does anyone know why Robohelp did this? There is only one instance of the file icon merged into the table of contents for each Department. And the only thing I did was to get out of the big picture and put it in a CHM file, accessed from a help button in the toolbar to WebHelp. (I use WebHelp as a document library management system, and not as a help file.)

Thank you very much in advance for your understanding and support!

    Boy is my face red!

The solution: take a look inside all files to 'merge' duplicates that are nested inside of each other.

I don't know how it happened (my PC is wobbly lately), but removes all folders nested my PC Robohelp directories (jn my root in C :) and regenerating fixed all problems.)

  • Problem with merged webhelp (Robohelp 10) linking to the child projects

    Hello

I recently upgraded to Robohelp 9 to 10.

I used as indicated on the site Web of Peter Grange merged Webhelp. To establish a link between the projects of the child the hyperlink would be entered as:

    .. /Folder/filename.htm

Since the upgrade to 10 new hyperlinks cannot be entered in this format that the OK button when inserting a hyperlink does not let you save.

Existing links still work using the format above.

Is this a change in 10 or I do something wrong?

    Thank you

A clean complete re install of RH10 did fix this problem of not being able to return the railways on the projects of the child.

  • Browse sequences at merged WebHelp

    Hi all

I'm working on a merged WebHelp project and I noticed that in the output of the navigation for each child project sequence is treated individually. Otherwise said, there is a full stop at the end of the sequence of navigation for each child project and I have to select the first topic in the next draft of the child within the table of contents for this sequence to browse. Is there a way to integrate them so that sequences of travel are managed consecutively?

Either incidentally, did someone else noticed a delay in loading the table of contents in Firefox when one of the results of the project of the child is missing? This help file contains information for the 3 software separate, but related, users can have between 1 and 3 products (and, as a result, between 1 and 3 of the child of the help files) on their machine. If anyone has any ideas on how to launch Firefox by displaying the table of contents in a more timely fashion, I'd like to hear them!

    Thank you
    Melinda

I noticed that even if the evolution of the refresh rate solve the problem of load, the table of contents are not autosynchronising immediately. It starts to sync after the user has clicked on certain topics, but it is not really satisfactory. I found an alternative method.

    Delete the redirect.

Paste the following above the tag, text by changing the path to the same thing you had in the redirection.

Change the body as tag below. Change the time-out if necessary, it is set in milliseconds.

This gives the same redirection but OCD will sync OK. It also works well OK in Internet Explorer.

  • Merging WebHelp & amp; Context sensitivity

Hello. I am extracting a topic I posted in the wrong place. Here's the Exchange that I had with Peter Grainge. In the next post, I'll post my question extra (s):

For WebHelp, we use the method startpage'htm #path/targettopic.htm and it works well. See my site for more information. Visit www.grainge.org for a range of RoboHelp and creation of related topics

Thank you. Now that I understand the difference between HTML Help and Webhelp, I see that this sensitivity to context covers only topic merged with * HTML Help * projects (that use the CHM file). What happened is that I searched on this issue in several forums and did not notice that the heading covers "RoboHelp for HTML Help" (the output type) not 'RoboHelp for HTML"(the type of user interface)!

I see now that my project must use the Webhelp format and I'm glad to hear that the context for Webhelp projects merged sensitivity has been developed successfully and documented already as compatible with RH7!

Due to a combination of VPN access problems, the fact that I only have only another writer working on my project and my deep suspicion of applications like RoboSource Control (which was confirmed by a few trials), I decided to use projects merged instead of the control of source code as a collaboration tool.

I'm sure you will hear more from me. You Rock (rap, or otherwise align).

OK, answering my own question. (I hope that this will make up for some of the issues stupid newbie I asked so far and received a response very patiently by the gurus - for the most part, Peter G.)

I just test the sensitivity of context to a merged webhelp project created in RH7 and use IE 7 and it works! Yahoo!!

    * I used the Javascript of a webpage to test call.
    * I only tested the RHShowHelp() function using the HH_HELP_CONTEXT parameter
    * I put the default theme (which is the first topic in the first merged project - one that is redirected to the parent project).
    * I bring a specific topic with no nav pane based on the ID of the card.

As mentioned, I followed the instructions of Greg Minter of 2006 published on the website of PG. However, here are a few details/changes to these steps (please, forgive me if everyone already knew such things):

You have not manually copy and paste the ID of the map ID card (* .h) files of the projects in the map ID of the parent-child project file. Just generate the projects of parent and child as usual and the references are automated.

[Concommitantly] should not manually set the ID of the map (* .h) file in the output folder (mergedprojects\projectnnn), as he describes it.

    Woo-Hoo.

  • Call CSH in: merging webhelp

It is more a rephrase that a new post: I have created a project of merging webhelp (using Peter Grainge excellent guidelines) and have two questions:

    (1) can someone point me to the place in HR help that explains how to call webhelp using the ID of the map of an application?

    (2) my merged webhelp project has a parent and several children. Each of these has always had its own file .h, right? How that affects the search for ID card? (If I rebuild a project of the child, its .h file will be updated... do I need to copy that up to, merge together, or what?)

    Thank you

    -Greg

    Success!

After many starts & stops & head scratching, I finally understood how a merged webhelp project that can:

    (A) uses the ID card for research rather than having to specify a path
    (B) be gradually updated (for example, add you a plug-in and want to just distribute the new doc, but always supporting CSH)

Peter Grainge has had enough to publish small article I wrote on his website:

Not only that, but if there is an error in one of the projects (including one of my subprojects has) audit of Robohelp 6 errors stop the compilation and the 'mistakes' (closes).

This means that a file that will compile and generate in RoboHelp 5 cannot do HR 6 If errors occur.

There seems to be no way to link to my URL in the table of contents of the file that contains the error, except for physically type the link.

We are looking at other tools that will allow which connects with the merged files.

If anyone else has problems of compilation of a file in RH6 who worked in RH5, external, related links could be the problem.

    Hi gurus,

We have a requirement where we need to request id of parent filled at the request of the child and the ability to set the parent, status of the request based on the completion status request child.

I use FND_REQUEST. SUBMIT_REQUEST with sub_request as TRUE to submit an application for the child of the mother's request.

I followed the code in ' Sample Code for a simultaneous program that submits a request of the child (Doc ID 1616185.1) '

After using the code, request parent child is is perfectly filled. But am not able to set the status of the parent program based on the completion status of the children's program.

I tried to use wait_for_request, while loop and same goto to achieve. nothing works and if I use the program of these children goes inactive, Manager of no..

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

    gt1942

    Hi all

I raised a Bug with the development team and they have confirmed that we can not get the request completion status child when using fnd_request.submit_request with sub_request as TRUE.

Thus, it is not possible to set the completion status of the request based on the State of completion request child parent.

    Hope this helps others...

  • conditions or merged webhelp?

What is the preferred mode of attack for modular help: terms of use or create merged webhelp?

The product has a base module that everyone has access to and 2-3 optional modules. This is a very small project, Core has only 35 subjects (so far, but probably not too grow up), and the other modules only require probably about 15 topics of each. Oh, and there is a separate stand-alone application to be included in the main webhelp but also released as a chm in the case, it makes a difference.

Is it more effective to simply create and apply conditions to the level of the topic and in the table of contents, or go through the process of creating merged webhelp?  For the size of this conditions to the project is probably the way forward, but what about for major projects? Are there other aspects?

For a project of this size, it's not implemented merged help. Go with CBT.

  • Problem with merged webhelp

    Dear Sir.

My problem is with the merged Webhelp project. links to external topics are not active in the main project, although these links work fine in the HTML help output.

    Thank you.

Have you tried immediately to the notice to this link?

  • Benefits of merged WebHelp?

I'm working on a major project that ulitimately will be documentation of the whole society for all departments in WebHelp. So far, I have a Ministry completed in about 900 pages. There are an other departments 10 or so to go.

    Wouldn't be better to use:

    A. a huge file of WebHelp (project)
    B. Webhelp has merged with a project for each Department?

The WebHelp could reach up to 10,000 pages. I think merged WebHelp would be easier to manage.

    All opinions welcome!

    Thank you.

10 000 links is fine. You must make your coffee so what better than every time you open the project some time. When it comes to generating assistance you can pinch to your sandwiches.

Yes the project will work but not you.

I split a project precisely because it is around this size and everything was too long.

  • Merged Webhelp shows * nothing *.

I went through the instructions for Webhelp merged, and my generated file (based on the almost empty with 1 topic and without Word parent, says Peter) shows... nothing. I added each project as described in the instructions. I generate the merged project and the skin comes with the full toolbar, two signs (toc and topic) and all is completely empty.

I'm obviously missing something... There's instructions to build the 'structure', but it does not say where (in the directory on my computer? In the Robohelp project file main?). I've done this before in X 3 (several years ago) and it worked the first time. I am sure that the problem is between keyboard and Chair :-)

    Very very confused... help!

    Diana

    Diana,

Looks like you're there at halfway.

When you generated the master project TOC, you inserted a marker for each of the subprojects, right?

When you generated the main project, he created an output with a "mergedProjects" folder is a subfolder containing a separate Directory for each subproject. These directories are almost empty, but make sure that you do not have edit or delete anything manually and do not change the name of the folder mergedProjects.

After you generate the master output, open a subproject in HR. Create a single-source layout that generates WebHelp as usual to the! SSL! record and publish in the appropriate directory in the main "mergedProjects" project output folder

    Do this with each subproject.

Now the master WebHelp page will show the table of contents and the Index handset, if you index for the subprojects, and a search entry field that will look for matches in all subprojects, you provided generated research databases for them.

A key point: the main project must have at least an Index of its own entry, or it won't work pick up indexes of subproject.

If you have used several skins, the you associated to the master project will replace the other.

    I correctly interpreted the situation?

  • Calculation of average in the child-parent relationship

    Hello

    Oracle database version: 11.2.0.1.0

Currently I'm having a problem of query to calculate the average value. Using the usual average query does not get the result I'm looking for. Because I'm not good with English, I will try to explain for example instead.

    Data table
    COD_A     COD_B     SALES     QTY     PRICE
    0000302     00003               6.09
    0000302     00003               11.7
    0000304     00003               14.08
    0000306     00003               8.87
    0000306     00003     3105     510     4.63
    0000306     00003               4.65
    0000308     00003     18091     1456     12.43
If I try to calculate the average price of COD_A, I have the correct answer, as expected.
    SELECT COD_A, SUM(SALES), SUM(QTY), AVG(PRICE) FROM VDATATABLE GROUP BY COD_A ORDER BY 1;
    Average price per COD_A
    COD_A     SUM(SALES)     SUM(QTY)     AVG(PRICE)
    0000302                                8.895
    0000304                           14.08
    0000306     3105         510                6.05
    0000308     18091        1456              12.43
    --------------

If I try to calculate the average price of COD_B, I don't have my expected result.
    SELECT COD_B, SUM(SALES), SUM(QTY), AVG(PRICE) FROM VDATATABLE GROUP BY COD_B ORDER BY 1;
    Average price per COD_B (1)
    COD_B     SUM(SALES)     SUM(QTY)     AVG(PRICE)
    00003     21196             1966              8.92142857142857
The result I'm looking for is
    WITH W1 AS
(SELECT COD_B, SUM(SALES) SALES, SUM(QTY) QTY, AVG(PRICE) PRICE FROM VDATATABLE GROUP BY COD_A,COD_B)
    SELECT COD_B, SUM(SALES), SUM(QTY), AVG(PRICE) FROM W1 GROUP BY COD_B;
    Average price of COD_B (2)
    COD_B     SUM(SALES)     SUM(QTY)     AVG(PRICE)
    00003     21196              1966         10.36375
    ---------

So, the way I want to calculate the average price is the average of the lower child attribute and continue the average to its parent attribute. Currently I can get the result by using the clause, but the hierarchy available not only stops at COD_B, there is more (e.g. COD_C, COD_D, so on), so the foregoing WITH the query "seems" to be inflexible. If I want to ask the COD_C aggregation, I might have to put another COMPONENT in the query.

So I was wondering is there any other better method to get the result I want? Something more dynamic as a recursive function or integrated maybe?

    Thank you

    Hello

Whenever you have questions, please post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for your sample data.
Always tell what version of Oracle you are using. Don't say something vague, like "11g" in a label where it is easy to miss. Tell exactly what version you have in the body of the message. For example "I'm using Oracle 11.1.0.7.0.

If you have N levels in the hierarchy, then using subqueries N-1, as you already do, might be the best way.

If you use Oracle 11.2, you may be able to obtain these results by using a WITH recursive clause.

Here's another approach to obtain the results desired with a hierarchy of level 2:

    WITH got_cnt AS
    (
SELECT cod_a, cod_b, sales, qty, price
, COUNT (*) OVER (PARTITION BY cod_a, cod_b) AS cnt
         FROM data
    )
    SELECT cod_b
    , SUM (sales) AS sum_sales
    , SUM (qty) AS sum_qty
    , SUM (price / cnt)
           / COUNT (DISTINCT cod_a) AS avg_price
    FROM got_cnt
    GROUP BY cod_b
    ;

I think you can do this job for any number of levels without adding another subquery for all levels. You may need to add expressions to COUNT more for all levels, and the query only works for a fixed number of levels.
