  Hello. I had a friend put the operating system windows 7 Home premium 64 bit on my computer hp laptop dv7-1260us. He had originally windows vista. Now, Miss me 3 basic systen drivers.  under 'other devices '.  All say bus PCI 8 under properties.  I don't know if I had a 64 or 32 bit operating system prior to this change.   I managed to install Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) on my HP Pavilion dv6985se Entertainment Notebook PC - my first QUESTION is whether HP should be supported on this platform?  Second question is if there is a job well HP Quick Launch buttons softpaq for this model?  I installed /uninstalled/ reinstalled 2 different (Vista) softpaqs and the volume control slider works, but there is no noise emitted click or on indication screen button works.  Any idea which softpak will work properly?

• Need original drivers for Pavilion a300n

  I need original drivers for Pavilion a300n (hw bom: o(or 0) Nb121110, BOM SW: NA30, ABA-System # DM 169 a, Serial # {Private Information Removed}). Running Winndows XP SP2. (Now SP3 won't load right.) I recorded this computer and do the backup CD, but all is lost over time. I found the original key of Windows so I could reinstall from an another Win XP Pro (SP2) STV CD not all the drivers I need were provided, in particular noise and the ethernet drivers. They are part of the motherboard and I can't IDENTIFY them. I used Speccy to try to get the details of the hardware, but he has not found an audio adapter or Ethernet adapter. guess it's because the drivers are not installed (hope this isn't a motherboard problem).

  The truth is, you have found the 'end of life' to your computer.  It's like a model 'A' Ford compared to a Fararri.  If you have not used a newer computer, you can't even tell the difference.

  My step daughter has finally threw his arms up in the air and agreed that win 8 is more pain on a desktop that is worthwhile and is not for her.

  We have installed Windows 7 64 bit and are now just trying to find the compatible drivers for SM Bus controller and usb 3.0.

  I'm assuming that the drivers for usb 3.0 as the keyboard and mouse are ok, just the 2 front usb 3.0 do not work (although that seemed to have given up after a week).

  We executed the 'original' pilots when he was running Win 8 x 64, but they don't seem to have. Maybe a compatibility problem, can be me as it was very early this morning when I gave up for a while.

  Any help/pointers gratefully received

  So I tried to make XP SP 3 to work on my new desktop HP Pavilion 500-202eo. I have partioned the disk in two and was able to install and modify Windows 7 on the other partition, largely with the support of the HP drivers for my model successfully. However I have not found any support for XP drivers for this model, or any other similar models in the 500 series with APU AMD A6 material - 6400 k Radeon HD graphics card. Installing XP went well, but I'm not having any sound, internet or USB 3 support options. In Device Manager, the following components are marked in yellow with the error code 28:

  Installation of W7 is probably doable on your model, but you can use W7 x 64 drivers of Web sites and the HP buiness specifications of the manufacturer.

  First, make the media before installing W7, in case this does not work to your satisfaction or you decide that you want to reinstall W8 a recovery day.  Once you install W7, the Recovery Manager most likely will not work.

  Now, as to why you couldn't find the drivers on your laptop support page...

  All the drivers, specifications and manuals are missing from pages support again.

  They have disappeared since Friday night.

  This happened earlier in the week also.

  Another Member of the forum has reported the problem to administrators forum, which will be in touch tour HP, but since I am not employed by, nor do I represent HP, I don't know how long it will take to restore the missing data to the support pages.

  If all goes well, now that it's Monday, HP is going to move to fixing the real problem soon.
