Missing images in Web help

Hello world
I've recently encountered a problem with a RoboHELP project where the graphics appear not in the output of the web help despite having been properly linked in the topics. This has happened spontaneously without any action on my part.

The subsequent investigation revealed that missing of the web help output image files indicated is no longer in the view project HR under the Images. They were always present on the c: if displayed using the windows Explorer.

Once one of the missing image files is linked using HR, other missing image files appear in the project view.

This problem seems to occur after:

1 periphery problems
2. when the result has been the web help

More curious, however, is that the HR project and the compiled output were all stored on my local hard drive that is NOT on a network drive.

I used a folder in my documents to store the HR project and the compiled output. The compiled output was also performed on the local hard drive, not the network. We run IE7, but I observed similar problems under IE6.

Which leave people:
1 could avoid this in the future?
2. has anyone out there had similar problems?

So far, I've simplified the structure of the project with no record of dvide project but not subfolders. I'm also trying to flee Jean-Claude C:\directory etc under 'MY Documents'

Please can someone help?

Update on the situation...
By happy coincidence, my HR crashed this afternoon while I had help 'project x' open!

This meant that I could test a few things. When project x was compiled help web, surprise, surprise, missing graphics again.

I then closed HR and made sure the CPD file for project x. I deleted the DPC draft x directory file. Following this I opened the project x HR again. I then compiled and all the graphics were back.

In other words the cause of the problem proved quite peremptorily file CPD being corrupted by an event while this praticular project has been opened. As a further test, I opened and compiled a few other web projects that were not open at the time of the accident and they were fine with no missing graphics.

In any case thanks a lot again for the advice.

For anyone else reading this, I feel that using projects merged on a large aid system might be a good way to limit the damage to a great support system. In this way we work only on one segment at a time and if an event occurs the damage is limited to what was open at that time.

  • Moved Lightroom 5 catalog Previews.lrdata file on hard drive external now missing Images! Help!

    Hi all

Help, please.  To try to free up space on my MBP with 128 GB SSD, I moved the file 'Lightroom' of my 'Images' folder to my DHM.  When I open LR could not find all the pictures, so I moved the file to my MBP and back in the folder "Images".  Only problem is now there is a charge of missing images last year.  I have all my CR2 files on my DHM so, luckily, I still have the physical copies of the originals, but all my changes disappeared.  I spent dozens and dozens of hours editing family shots and other photographs and I'm very nervous that I may have just lost all?

    Please please help...

    Thank you...

I can't answer the question about missing images. However, after you move the Lightroom for the EHD folder you open that folder and double-click the catalog file in its new location. After that, if you have preferences in Lightroom configurΘ for the most recent dΘmarrer Lightroom Catalog use the catalog located on the EHD.

Anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

    Hello

This problem occurs in other applications or only if you are using IE?
In my opinion, you should check the brightness of the display.
This you can change with the FN + F6 and FN + F7 key combination

    Hi kimberlynf,

If images are missing after import in Lightroom and showing gray-out, you can follow the link below for re - locate the missing images in Lightroom.

In addition, if you looking to re - import all the images again and they are showing gray-out on the window import, then you should uncheck the "do not import suspected duplicates" option in the file management menu.

Let us know if that helps.

  • How can I find out which catalog a missing image belongs to?

How can I find out which catalog a missing image belongs to?

Beat a dead horse... Whenever I need "missing images", in LR4.2, I can't access it, even if I'm looking to the right of the location that they presntly occupy thye picture was ALREADY in a CATALOG OTHER.

HOW frustrating it is... going on 8 months now. But I need pictures and I guess I could just go back and 10,000 images that are missing in my collections to reprocess but I tried a lot of solutions offered in the months that are just not practical.

So now, I want to approach this thing from the other direction...

If Let's say a single image is already associated with another catalog which houses this collection, (and the collection is important because there changes), I want to go instead of this catalogue.

    How can I do this?

    Any ideas?

Now, I see the video. AFAICT the message, it's not telling you that the image concerned is also imported into another catalog. You say that you already have an image version different within this current catalog, which already makes reference to the same physical file, you're trying to re - adjust the offline image to.

This duplicate version is (I'm 90% sure) the result of a re - import at some point after you have transferred the data in the new computer. The proof will be if the two folder/drive locations appear in the records of LR.

Say there is an [X] image that becomes an orphan, because the location of its source [A] file is no longer available.

As has been explained, the right solution is to update the location information - it is easier to do in the record IMO, or a whole folder, instead of an image - tree so that the image [X] beyond knows to use the location [B] instead of [A] location. Incidentally, this means [A] record disappears from the list of files to LR and folder [B] appears here.

However the situation is badly knotted up so instead to the foregoing, the [B] file is imported as fresh images, creating a new and separate image [are] pointing to the same file moved this image [X] used to use in the old location (for example).

[X] is still in all of your Collections already made and has all its changes etc., but (with no now accessible at A location source file) cannot be used.  [There] was all or part x edits, will not be in one of your Collections, but works otherwise - because she doesn't have a working reference to the image file to location B.

If you now try to redirect Web image [X] notebook file B, Lightroom rightly complains: ' you already have image [is] referring to this file!

So if you delete these (I guess, superfluous) additional imports of LR - the backup catalog first and do NOT choose Remove them the disc! -LR will no longer have any reason to block you re - treating your images established and thus put online.

I wonder if referring to pictures only through Collections (as in the video), one would tend to miss what's going on with these physical folder locations? It may be useful (even if you do not pay much attention to the location of the files, otherwise as LR allows rightly) - to select "Go to folder in the library" against a given image, for repairs in such cases.

    Best regards, PR

  • Images and web templates

What is the difference between the size of the image and the size of the canvas? What is the best size of the image for the background when you create a web page template?  When I look at the tutorials, they are always larger than the width height and I want each of my pages to fit on a screen - which seems to be about 1350 x 750.  In addition, what should be the parameters when "save for the Web page?  When I saved my image, brought in Fireworks for splicing and then upload the page to the host and then tried to go to my website - it takes forever to load.

    Hi, Chellehman40.

When you set the 'Image size', you also want to adjust everything that is contained in your document. For example, if you increase the size of 300 x 300 to 600 x 600 Image, everything will be doubled and may cause pixelation.

On the other hand, "Canvas size" means "container" which sit in the elements of your document. Increase the canvas size will increase the amount of space, you need to work, but will not increase the size of the elements in this document.

Regarding your question on image for web design sizes, there is no right answer. Some users we will work on 1280px width screen, while others may have a screen on 3000px resolution. It is best to keep your background image under 1500px. One, to reduce the size of the file, and two, to make sure that all your users will be able to see the full history.

If you plan use a design image for the background of your Web site, it's usually a good idea to "fade" the design/image of a solid color. This will avoid any unpleasant lines severe and/or repeated images.

Last tip. When you are in your 'Save for Web' window (file > save for Web), take a look in the lower left corner. You will see the size of the file, based on optimization settings that you have defined in the upper right. A nice size for a Web site is less than 200 KB. If it's higher, try decreasing the value of quality.

    I hope this helps!

Edit: Sudarshan beat me to it.

"  I can resize the image when I made batch of Raw to TIFF of 300 ppp.  Is how important it?  Most of the photo I don't print not and if I print I usually specify printing size and the laboratory produced the images.  Any help would be appreciated.

    The 13th floor

No, it will not matter, only the pixel dimensions of importance for the on-screen display

or on the web. It is important, when you print, but most printers do everything

the calculations for you when you enter a print size.

JPEGs and raw images are the same size in pixels, so if you open

a raw image into elements and go to Image > Resize Image size and value

the resolution to 300 without resampling box checked, you will see that they

are the same, so no need to change anything.

  • The case of the missing Image

    Go to this link: http://fyiboerne.info/wcid.html

This is a very simple HTML page that shows two things: a "< BACK" link, which is visible and working properly, and a jpg image (file name: wcid #2.jpg) that is not visible.

I would like to know what is happening here.

The html page and the image of solitaire are in place on the remote server; However, when I test the page on my test server happens to be blank as it does from the browser online. I tried the popups, a download of a pdf version of .jpg... IT IS ALWAYS EMPTY. Also, I did the whole site and it replace... dumped the html file and completely rebuilt it... tried to open the pdf file and the jpg file in Photoshop and Acrobat, where image is always upward. In Photoshop, I crushed the layers.

The image appears in Dreamweaver, but fails to present themselves in an overview (using Firefox and Safari) and fails to present themselves on the Internet.

I've included the source code for this link in case anyone can see a problem. The first source code appears on the page links to the page in question. The second source code is the code of the page with the missing image.

    Thank you!

  • Missing images in WebHelp (RH6)

I built a WebHelp 130 topics guide. When I first starting to see, all right. I walked through several themes in order to travel, everything is OK. I used the search box and found a few topics. Selected OK. Then select the Index tab, and then the contents tab, and then the problems start. ALL the larger images do not appear. The white space is on the screen, but not photos, and they are a mixture of GIF, animated GIF and png. Most of the smaller images (for example, smaller than about 150 x 250 px) seem OK.
(That I'm viewing in IE7, running on Windows XP with all the latest updates; fast Pentium 4 + 1.5 GB RAM, hot 256 MB graphics card).
If I right click on a missing image, then select Properties, it shows the name of the file, but the reports of the size of the file '-1bytes '.
On one occasion, I noticed that the progress at the bottom of the screen of IE7 bar was stuck trying to load images and some graphical skin ewre missing too.
If I close the WebHelp and load it again, everything works OK. Until I repeat this sequence.
Anyone have any ideas? This problem happened on another computer, if it's not just this one.
    H-E-E-E-E-LP!

    Dear all,
I got a little exasperated with the problems of project aid, so I converted more than 200 PNG images to GIF format. Discovery! There were one or two "bad format" png detected in the conversion process, so I suspect really bad png. I've changed all the referees in the project from .png .gif and rebuilt. Everything works perfectly. Cannot get it to go bad.

I used thousands of PNG images over the years and never had problems with missing images. I can only conclude it was a few image files damaged which caused the trouble.

But, to test some other problems (like crashing when I change of topics), I'll stick to the GIF format for the rest of this work in any case and see how it goes.
Thank you for all your help

  • Missing images IMAQ, parallel

Hello, I use Gigabit Ehternet camera and after grabbing an image I get models and cut (always two models cut). So I have to small fragments of image caught (left square, Ellipse of left, right square, Ellipse on the right). For the moment I deal only with the Ellipses. Left and right Ellipse are placed as a WhichType.vi entry and subsequently GrainDecision.vi. If I only use one instance of WhichType everything is ok, and I have all of the missing images in ResultGrainLeft or to the right. But if I put two vi's, like on description.jpg, sometimes there are missing images in the indicators of IMAQImage or something's wrong with them (both the same images or something like added random images), but there are no errors and score changes. Any ideas what may be wrong in GrainDecision.vi?

    Karol

    Karol,

The problem is in the GrainDecision.vi and the constants that you pass to IMAQ create. The images are unique by a name, and if an image with the name of entry has already been created, it is the image that will be returned. Two calls to IMAQ create with the same input will create only a single image, regardless of the context in which it was admitted. Each instance of GrainDecision.vi will use the same thresholdGrain, SubDstGrain, images etc. I also recommend not to use images useless temporary destination. In general, you can leave the destination unwired image and the source image will be altered. You can probably eliminate 3-5 of these calls IMAQ create in GrainDecision.vi and your memory footprint and get a small speed improvement

    Hello

    1. don't you also get an error with the message code?
2 have you installed third-party readers part?
    3. What is the format of the files you are trying to play?

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

I would have you readers of third party temporarily Uninstall and check if persists it to the question.

    Step 2:

Most likely you need codecs to play these files with Windows Media Player. I suggest looking up codec in the Internet that supports the file format, download and install them.
