  I found it easier to use an mSATA replacing the 16 GB one with a 256 GB SSD version. It runs at 6 Gbps.

  is it possible to have a separate audio books and music equalizer?

  I noticed that the audio books is played with the same parameters of the equalizer which has recently been used for music. I find it boring. It would be perfect to have separate sound settings audio books that would be stored in the device memory and restored automatigically after switching to music or audio books.

  ... Or at least... for easy way to change the settings of the equalizer while listening to audio books. Now, I have to let audiobook, playing music, change the equalizer settings and return to the audio book to achieve this.

  Hello everyone I am new to this forum and new to a y500. So I recently had the y500 it has been refurbished, but it works great execpt for a problem. When I play a game for a little while the sound mess up. It's a static sounds like when your on a television channel, you're not became any signal. its strange because when I get off the game it stops so I have no idea how to fix it or if it is a hardware or software problem. • Lenovo Y500 does not start

  I've had my y500 ideapad for a few years now. One day, my computer froze completely in normal operation. I had to hold the power button to do a manual stop. After that, my computer will not turn back. When I try to start it, I see a black screen, not even the Lenovo Logo. After 30 seconds, there is a single issue of the computer. Thirty seconds later, the fan turns as if under load, then a bit later, the fan to calm down and the computer will beep again.   I finally diagnosed it as the video card. After I reinstalled windows, the computer starts normally and work, but the video card is turned. No video, blue lines outside the screen. I ordered a replacement motherboard, which is about the only way to fix it if you encounter the same problem that I am. Do not know what started the error if. Could have gotten just old.

The problem started when I tried to open an attachment in my email. At the time when I clicked on the file to my laptop shuts down suddenly (seems certain virus was in it). Even after trying the key recovery option, it has not begun. Then I tried to install Windows XP and it started working.

  Now the problem is

  1 - when I try to install over XP is Win Vista/7/8 while in the middle of the installation, it stops. This means that it is impossible to install any other OS then XP.

Yesterday I took my laptop hardware engineer and diagnose after he was identified as a chip in the motherboard was faulty which created this problem. After replacing the laptop started to work well. It was not a software problem, it's a motherboard problem. Note that if you have Internet cable for the connection you have just set up the router to DHCP (or there may even be a choice of cable to choose).   1. turn off the power to your modem.
  2. attach a class (usually supplied with the router) ethernet cable cat5e Internet/WAN port of the router to the ethernet port on the modem.

I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

  Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network.
