Missing many browser settings (cookies, etc.) in Firefox OS

Hello

I know that the mobile browser to firefox for android and firefox on linux. today I activated my new phone os of firefox. now I can not find the browser settings for cookies, offline data, passwords etc.

in the configuration section, there are only two options: one for the removal of the browser history and one to delete cookies and data. but where are the other important settings?

Hello Ralph,.

Thank you for your response.

I'll let the following suggestions in the feedback page but want to talk about it here as well:

I suggest you add the following settings of the browser in future versions of Firefox OS:

  • Sync (bookmarks, history, open tabs, passwords (also with the master password enabled!))
  • Adding other search engines like Duckduckgo
  • Cookie settings (for example excluding 3rd party cookies,...)
  • Remember passwords
  • Master password
  • Clear private data (clear now, always clear when you leave)

I think it's important that the browser "Firefox" on your own "Firefox" OS platform provide at least the same features as on Android.

But I must admit, I'm very happy with my new Alcatel One Touch fire E with Firefox OS 2.0. Thanks to the developers!

  • For many of the latest versions of Firefox, I was able to get Firefox to save the preferences, passwords or any other information, except the navigation history.

My Bank will not recognize my computer in Firefox, but in IE 9.
The same is true for other sites such as UPS, USPS, clips and any other place cookie preferences, passwords are stored (invited to remember); e-mail, passwords and other account identifiers remembers when typed directly into a portal of connection, such as hotmail.

Websites to remember you and automatically log you on are stored in a cookie.

    • Create a cookie exception allow (Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such cookies, especially for sites Web secure and if the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Make sure that you run not Firefox in private browsing mode.

Do not use clear recent history to erase "Cookies" and "Site preferences".

Compensation of the "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

  • Website terms, political, cookie etc.

    Hello

Ive come to design my first website in Muse. Now that its finished I want to start it, but first I have to certain terms and conditions for my site.

I just wanted to know where you guys get your terms of?

I don't have confidence quite the free and I'm not entirely certain on this site my cookies will be used. I have google maps etc so I know there will be some third-party cookies.

How can I identify what my site use cookies and what will be stored in these cookies?

Is there a good British lawyer that you guys use to write the terms and conditions, the strategy of cookies etc for Web sites that you create?

It is also a site of a page, it is best to put the terms etc. as a child or a page to the right page?

I hope that this will make sense and advice are appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

How can I identify what my site use cookies

Publish, let simmer for one day, then visualize it with all third party extensions that are unlocked, ideally several times with some time inbetween each visit. Rinse and repeat with each change. Then call the respective pages of config of your browser as chrome://settings/cookies in Chrome.

What will be stored in these cookies?

Unless you care to dig deep into the Cs & T of all the third-party services on the data they collect in fact, it's impossible. Some sites use a lot of cookies which don't make sense when strung, but even in this case they could be obscured with hexadecimal encoding, hashes and similar or truly encrypted over a lot of follow-up happens outside cookies as well in scripts, images, and media content. You can't really cover all the bases and basically, you just tell your users face: you're being watched. I told you. Elaborate IMO T & Cs are a waste of time. There's always a loophole, and users do not read. of course feel free to just copy & paste the abandonment standard as required by your UK regulations, but I wouldn't waste my time and money on additional counsel. When it is provided by an official authority like the justice department, it is reasonable to assume that they know what they are doing.

  • VSM 9.1 browser settings disappeared

After upgrade to v.9 (1), many officers are complaining that the VSM browser settings (selected columns, column width, column orders, colours) are missing.

Is it possible to restore the previous settings as it was before the update?

We must do this at least for several users who are extremely unhappy with this.

    Gytis

Make sure that they are not in the application, and then you can clean the configs.

Data in SU_WEB_CONFIGS. OFFICER_REF will be provided to you to disappear only to this officer. Power WINDOW_ID to clear only for a particular screen.

For example if I wanted to wipe the configs and colors for the screen Calls Outstanding I would run

    DELETE FROM SU_WEB_CONFIGS WHERE WINDOW_ID LIKE 'INCALLSOUTSTANDING %' AND OFFICER_REF = 3

If I wanted to reset everything to me, I would run

    DELETE FROM SU_WEB_CONFIGS WHERE OFFICER_REF = 3

  • APEX security: several in a browser session cookies

    Hi all

I use mozilla firefox as your web browser. When I opened a new tab and enter the url for APEX application I will be redirected to the login page. Once the connection successfully, I get the session id and the browser, the cookie session WWV_CUSTOM-F...

When I now open the tab next to the browser and enter the url for APEX application I will be redirected to the login page. Once the connection successfully, I get the new session id and the browser, the cookie session WWV_CUSTOM-F... with new content. My session since the first browser tab is killed, because the session for the session cookie has been deleted/replaced by the session cookie in the second tab.

Is it possible to have several sessions of APEX open in a browser with multiple tabs?

    Concerning

Yes - but there is a catch.

You designate the server as a different name for each session.

So, from the outset, you should be able to open the tab 1 to nom_serveur.com and 2 tab open to 1.2.3.4 (the IP address of the server). APEX will keep these two sessions, isolated, as cookie names will be different.

If you need more than two, you can change your local hosts file and create as many aliases as you want. For example, I have an alias "vm" which is mapped to the IP address of my virtual machine; Thus, I can access by typing just 'vm' in the URL.

    Thank you

Words of past & favorite appeared to a new user who portable Mozilla on the same computer resinstalled (even after history, cookies etc. were deleted)

Firefox would use a profile previously used folder if this user would use the same Windows account.
It is always better to give each user their own Windows user account and protect your own account with a password if you are concerned about privacy issues.

You can use the Profile Manager to delete all the files and the profile folder.

  • What is the difference between the cookies keep until I close firefox and the history of cookie empty closing firefox?

In the settings of Firefox 33.0 (I use Ubuntu 14.04, but the functionality is the same for Windows 7) there are two ways to delete cookies when firefox closes. Or at least, there seems to be.

Is first the cookies keep until firefox is closed

Second is to check the box for clear history of firefox closing and in the settings check cookies.

What is the difference between these two options?

I usually have two configuration but I noticed that a connection was not save for td canada trust EasyWeb, even though I have an exception set for it. Now I unchecked to remove cookies by disabling the history on close and connection records correctly.

This connection allows to save 7 cookes under easyweb.td.com and 10 cookies under td.com and I have exceptions defined for both. If I clear the history when closing and include cookies, half of the td.com cookies disappeared when I close firefox and re - open. The same is true if I'm not the exception.

So currently I can't find a way to keep all cookies if I clear the cookie history when firefox closes. What is the difference with this option?

When you change the default cookie 'to life' of "keep until: they expire" to "keep until the: I close Firefox", Firefox changes all persistent cookies that sites set session cookies. To allow a site to place a persistent cookie, you need to make an exception (site permission).

When you turn on the story to stop compensation and include cookies, running a completely separate process that doesn't doesn't pay attention to the duration of cookie or exceptions (permissions site). There just nukes all.

Note that some cookies could survive if they are encoded in the history file of your session of compensation at the stop, a Firefox uses to restore your tabs and windows from last session. I have not tested.

  • How can I delete unwanted notice of a change of browser settings that will not respond?

The view is a window that appears while I'm in Google.
The title is "changing the browser settings.
below, as well as the yellow triangular warning [!], is a choice:
    'Keep my current settings', or
"I am aware of this change and trust him.
Regardless of all choices, clicking the [Yes] button has no effect.
Neither will by clicking on the [X]

I don't know what that means or how to remove it.

To remove unwanted toolbars, try here first:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > category: Extensions

Most should have a Disable and a delete button. If find you one that has an off button, but not a button Delete, so no doubt it must be removed by the control panel "programs and features".

I suggest disable all nonessential extensions and restart Firefox to see if that reverses the problem. You can reactivate some of your less critical extensions that you find the need.

  • Cannot move anything in the browser - icons, tabs, etc.

I've just upgraded to Firefox 12.0 and have found that I can't do anything to drag anywhere. At first, I thought it was a problem with the Menu Editor extension - I was trying to reposition a component menu, just after doing the upgrade to v11.0. In the Options window the Menu editor that can be done simply by dragging, but it did not work.

I spent the time wrong with it until I realized that the other drag-type features do not work. In order to found:

    1. Cannot reorganize (drag / move) tabs.
    2. Cannot move the tab stop tab bar to open in another window.
    3. Cannot reorganize bookmarks and favicons on personal bar. Open the context menu of bookmarks toolbar and its commands work.
    4. Cannot move tabs to the bar Favorites or folder.
    5. [Window to customize open] cannot drag items to or from the window customize and cannot rearrange or move the Navigation bar or the bar Add on icons.

There may be questions focused more on the trail, but they are the only ones I can think of and have found. I don't know if I'd known, on the top of my head, extension interfaces accommodate slide they would fail to work. Basically, nothing moves when I click on it with the cursor and try to drag. I don't get any feedback as circle with slash graphic.

This may be a conflict extension but before I start to switch to many ad - ons that someone might know if this is a new feature setting, I don't know, that was the case before, when I updated.

I've also seen a recent thread open when the person has a similar problem (but on a Mac - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/926256?s=can%27t+drag+and+drop & r = 11 & e = & did = s). I wonder if there are perhaps other elements of that this person also cannot move, but not has not yet discovered, and if this problem and mine is perhaps related.

After following the instructions with the following...

... I determined that my theme or a corrupt localstore.rdf were the cause of my problems.

Then begins the troubleshooting extensions (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes?redirectlocale=en-US & redirectslug = Troubleshooting + extensions + and + themes).

Hardware acceleration has been eliminated as a cause as it has never been activated.

It turns out that, like the Mac user in the thread I linked above, Torbutton has been the cause of the problem. I thought that it unlikely just because it seemed so not related to how the problem was evident.

Torbutton was not invalid he's turned off in the browser, so I considered it "not active".

This message was posted on the first page of the Torbutton website last spring: "now that the Tor Browser Bundle includes a patched Firefox version, and because we have not enough resources to deal with the Firefox version developer accelerated schedule, the Torbutton toggle model is not recommended. "Users should use Tor Browser Bundle, do not install Torbutton themselves."

Their "Active Torbutton Tickets" page includes two of the problems I had like individual bugs, "Torbutton add-on interferes with the buttons on toolbar add-ons (including his own)" and «torbutton disables the ability to drag and save quick links»

They go to a variety of reasons, they no longer support the key in this blog (https://blog.torproject.org/blog/toggle-or-not-toggle-end-torbutton). Mainly for security reasons, partly because they cannot deal with the hourly output FF and last because users are reporting more broken features and incompatibilities with each new version of FF.

  • Is there a way I can restore my backup profile that I took from a folder (for example Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\)

    Before re-installing Firefox 19, I took by mistake backup my profile in a folder - C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and not from C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.

When installing, I chose option "Delete old profiles" and I don't see any old folder under C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles profile.

However, I have a lot of important data stored under that profile that has now been deleted.

Is there a way I can restore the old profile data? (PS: as stated above, I have a backup of the profile folder that is located under the Local Settings folder)

I'm in a desperate need for aid. Pls reply as soon as possible.

Firefox stores only cache files to the location of the local settings and not the files in the main folder of the Firefox profile.

There is no need to save this place in local contexts in any case.

The main folder of the Firefox profile is in "C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > change Data" on Windows XP.

If you have deleted your personal data during the uninstallation of Firefox and do not have a backup then your only option is to use an undelete utility to see if you can recover this profile folder.
