Missing updates in the catalog?

I wanted to update my R630 / R730XD for the most recent versions. OME (2.0.1.2222) displays only Broadcom updates Firmware available from the online catalogue. Looking at the site, it should be available more things.

I manually downloaded the DUP and added to a custom repository and leave OME scan against the deposit, he found the following additional updates:

No idea why the sweep against the catalog online does not give these updates?

I thought it was the idea of the catalog, you do not have to check and download every single update yourself...

Thank you
Michel

Individual updates are posted on the site as they become available, but the catalog represents groups updates that are tested or supported together on each system.  The updated catalog came out the second Friday of each month (tomorrow).  I wouldn't recommend updating servers with DUPs individual unless it is recommended by Dell Support or you have identified a need critical of a particular update and cannot wait a little while for the release of validated catalog.

  • Missing files from the catalog

Recently, I noticed that 18 files containing images captured during the last half of 2015 are missing from my catalog.  All my images are placed in a single catalog.  These records and images placed in these, are present in the main folder on my hard drive where all my images are stored, catalog backups that I created after each important Lightroom use and in the trash.  I can say with certainty, that I have did not remove these files and pictures accidentally or intentionally.  I suspect that these images can be imported again but probably no parameters and, perhaps, of metadata.  I know that I can go back to the last backup of the catalog that contains these images but I would lose a significant amount of work done during the last two weeks, marking hundreds of images with keywords, and adjusting the parameters of development.

Oh I hope someone can explain this situation and help me with a resolution.

DJ is right; It doesn't really matter.

The only reason to have a distinctive folder structure is if it helps find stuff browsing the Finder; but it is the poor way to find photos that it's not worth putting a lot of effort in. Some applications and other things can cause you to need a folder; for example, I have a folder called 'For the Forums' or something that I export to Lr, so I can find pictures to download on forums like this. But I do not import even 90% of files in there (I could MOVE JPEG files in there in Lr, but it's very very very different from export tell a RAW edited under a PNG image to this folder.) And once exported, I don't need to import export).

Some applications want to a dedicated folder, as Mylio. Sometimes a folder contains images that do not belong to me. I love dates because I move older files off my boot drive to external to save space. I often add a name of place or another template to a folder when I'm still editing and play with them; often not. I have some folders on an external named for the place because I took so many shots, but they tend to be just to say "EBRPD/Tiilden." I have to do some moving off Lr because my pictures folders contain files (such as PPM, dop sidecars and some other stuff) that Lr will not move.

  • My old computer crashed, but I have a backup of the catalog. Should I restore my catalog first, or should I import my photos first?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Hector.

You need to restore your old Lightroom Catalog backup, and which should be containing all your images and changes you have made so far, however, it can display as missing images that can be moved.

Follow the steps in this article to move the missing images when the catalog is restored: How to find missing photos in Photoshop Lightroom

  • How to replace "apply downloaded update now" with "Check for Updates" in the menu help when the update fails because the downloaded update files are missing but the "Ready to install update" window keeps appearing?

    Question

I have another type of problem with Firefox

    Description

Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?

You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).

If it does not, see our KB article How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message - the section of 'last resort' can be useful, or or read this article from MozillaZine KB, software update.

  • Virtually all of the files are missing after you import the catalog.

I'm NOT sure that has nothing to do with lightroom, except that yesterday my files were all there, now, they are absent.  It could be a hard disk failure.  Its just strange that it affected only the files that I tried to interfere in my lightroom catalog today.

Well as out of town, I pulled a few thousand photos and them ingested on a daily basis in a new lightroom catalog that I created on my laptop.  Files imported into a USB external drive.  The laptop is win 10.  It is on the latest version of lightroom, CC.  Yesterday, everything was going well with the catalog, disk, and files.  All were there.  The catalogue and the photos were on the same drive.  The laptop was listed as the letter 'g ':

Once I went back to the office today, I wanted to import pictures to my largest catalog on my desktop.  I have used this external hard drive for all my new photos in 2016.  On this PC, Win 10, the letter of the external drive is also "X:".  I started lightroom in my big catalogue very well.  I chose to import from a different catalog, accessed my X Catalogue outside in the car and started importing without a copy of the files.  This should leave the files in the same location.  It took a little more time I expected to import this catalog.  When I went to the structure of folders inside lightroom, it seemed that all the files have been imported correctly.  But there was a "?" from the folder.  I assumed that I just needed to do a "find" on the X drive as I thought that my lightroom catalog could have been pointing to the G drive.  Locate, but cannot find the files.  I've used windows explore to browse my files and the folders and files were all missing, with the exception of a folder where I shot some photos with a camera, about 100 photos in all.  Thousands of photos from other cameras were all absent.

So next time, I ran a scan disk and windows came with a message of repair.  The repair said that it worked successfully.  But I looked in the Explorer, the files were still missing.  I ran a scan disk again and no error found.

I looked in the trash on the desktop and there is no files on this disc.  If the missing files are still missing.  I had not saved the files yet since they were really vacation photos and have no critical and since I was going to save them after that I spent in review on the workstation.  Some are still on the cards and could be retrieved.  But I formatted my main map at least a couple of times and I'm afraid that most would have been crushed and is more viable, even using the card recovery software.

Before you begin importing today, I don't check the disk to make sure that all my files were there.  There is no error in windows at startup and I don't mind just to check in Explorer or open the 'new' catalog first.

    1. Could Lightroom have somehow deleted files and can they be retrieved?
    2. Assuming that it was a Windows / hard drive error, can anyone recommend a program attempt to recover files lost like that?  Given that the entire folders, sound also lack if the index of the obtained partially erased disc.  But maybe the files are still there.  Then there is a program to search for them?

Note that the other files on this drive all seem to be good.  The only missing are import of today.

It is drive X:, but the files are not there.
    portable version is 2015.6

    Desktop version is 2015.5

    The

Somehow, the windows removed them.  I use EaseUS data recovery to retrieve them.  He had no problem finding the files.  So I guess we can mark this resolved.

    Thank you.

  • Error in updating the catalog after upgrade to OME 2.0

    Successfully upgraded OME 1.3-> 2.0.

However, it seems he's been through, because now he says that this catalog version is newer.

    This can be ignored?

    Thanks for the question.

I'll check around to see if it has been seen.  But looks like when you view the version of catalog and the date in the console of OME, it is showing the most up-to-date?

In the past, when people have lance in something similar they will use SQL Management Studio to smash the old catalog and download the latest version.  The command is:

    DELETE FROM OMEssentials.Catalog.Manifest;

But if you are not comfortable with playing with the database, you may consider a support ticket to let them take a look.

The logic of upgrade is supposed to run this command before the new catalog is downloaded.

    Kind regards

  • How do I update my catalog when mod LR library does not see everything in the catalog (don't no synchronization of the folder)

I have a disk that contains just my LR catalog, the structure of the file is LRcatalog (j) > LRcatalog (folder) > Primary_Image_Catalog (folder) > can an individual record for each year (2001-2017) > inside each folder for years, I have an individual file for each job > then the images. All appear in the library until you reach 2015 LR mod. The 2015, 2016, 2017 files located on the hard drive do not appear in the mod library for all my work for 2015 and 2016 are just tight enough and not in this record of the year. Is there a way to update or synchronize the catalog so that I could see everything that is on the drive when I'm in the library mod? Vid in YouTube if you don't understand the question. Thxs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4swYogNwtcU

Since we can not see the whole of the hierarchy on the left side (and can not read the text either), I suspect that you put the landscape Test folder in the wrong parent folder

    Two things to try

    1. right click on the landscape test folder and select view the Parent folder, repeat if possible Parent folder until no record Parent more

    2. right click on a pictures just imported, select view in Explorer, then Lightroom opens a window of Windows Explorer that contains the newly imported photos, then see if it's the correct folder for your picture according to Windows

I've always been tired of the idea of the 'one-catalog-to-rule-them-all' approach, precisely for those reasons.

Any thoughts on why I'm seeing this?

Will start, but sure would like to know what I could do wrong. I'll start the catalogue in question, that I'm importing, see if it's the problem before all over again.

Same HD, Master catalogue is at the top level folders (broken down by years), which contains the original catalogs I'm importing. So nothing complicated. I force quit LR, also restarted my Mac, then reopened the master, and he seems to have imported the catalog that he hung up. Everything seems fine now, so just a stroke of luck. Before, I'll learn to trust a catalog (with backup, of course!). Thank you

  • Export a collection of catalog and import into the catalog of my work on my iMac, color labels are missing.

During my project for my photography class, I have to shoot on site and edit the best photos with the model, on my MacBook. At home on my MacBook I export the collection newly created to a catalog (including negative files), copy the directory with the catalogue all the other files over the network and import the catalog into my standard catalog on my iMac. On my iMac, all the imported photos color labels went into my standard catalog, and very strange, color labels have also disappeared when I open the catalogue exported (and copied) on my iMac. Did I miss something?

I don't think it's something to do with the copy over a network.

My guess is that you have to look at metadata > color label set. Try to compare the settings on both computers. If they are different, a computer do not know what the other means red, yellow etc.
