Missing USB driver
original title: USB Driver
problem with USB driver for Vista home edition - the driver is gone and I can not find replacement, have no disk Vista - can upgrade to Windows 7 the problem?
Hello
The upgrade to Windows 7 may not help the problem at all. Try the top of methods down below and if
they do not contribute and then copy the examples of "How to ask a Question" to give us more information
to help us help you.
How to ask a question
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555375
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check the configuration/settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 when you start - make sure that USB is enabled.
If a PC and if necessary the embedded USB can be disabled and a USB card can be used only
is not expensive. For a laptop, using a real computer shop (no leeks and glances at a Best Buy
or other stores) or system manufacturer support.
------------------
Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.
Run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup
Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN
sfc/scannow
How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program
generates in Windows Vista cbs.log

Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.
How to run the check disk at startup in Vista
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/67612-check-disk-Chkdsk.html
-----------------------------------------------
Then lets refresh the USB stack
Control the click Control Panel - Device Manager - no matter where in the box of white/white - then the VIEW - see the
Devices disabled - look around (with the exception of USB controllers) for your devices (can have
zero or more than one) and top - right click UNINSTALL.
Control Panel - right CLICK on EVERYTHING - Serial USB controllers - Device Manager and UNINSTALL
all except the category itself - REBOOT - it refreshes the drive and battery USB
This KB shows XP how to and the method of Vista is identical

This is a utility to help you, but do 1 above.
USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, thus
as all USB devices that you previously used. Run Options and check the 1st three choices to see to it there
Is there.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/usb_devices_view.html
You must remove all instances of the devices and restart.

If necessary after the foregoing:
You can try a repair install or an upgrade in Place. Be sure to do a good backup or three.
You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. This also requires correct Vista disks especially for OEM versions. You will be
need to know your product Code.

I looked on the TEMPRO Download Center but could not find a driver for my PC with Windows 8.
Thank you
According to specification for laptop, your laptop computer came with preinstalled Win8 64bits. Recovery image contains all the necessary drivers so I m wondering how one driver may be missing.
Have you installed a clean version of the OS?
USB 3.0 driver is preinstalled on your laptop? If you can't find it for your test of Satellite install for Portege Z930. -
I have an application that was written in LV7.0, when XP was the machine of choice. At the time, I could get away with a copy of my .dll file of the USB driver of development in the same folder with my application. I have recently moved my app up to LV2010 and am now eager to enjoy the driver store. Installs the USB driver in the driver store. Therefore, I don't want to keep a local copy of the .dll file, but instead, I want to use the one that is loaded from the store. Problem is when I deleted my .dll to my working folder, my vi broken. They don't seem to know how to find the .dll file that is installed in the store. Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.

I get it, but now I have 2 questions. 1. where is the file? I did a search and came empty, even though I know that it is installed. 2 will be this place be the same for W7, Vista and XP? Thank you.
Most likely, it is entered in your windows/system32 folder - at least in XP. I did not actually with the structure of directory for Windows7, but I imagine it is the same or similar. Perhaps that things get slightly more complicated with the 64-bit version, I don't know...
Sorry I can't be of more help...

USB drive not recognized on the A30-151 in XP
After a clean install of Windows XP Pro on a Satellite A30 151, a USB device remains in the category 'Other' (after installation of the graphics and audio drivers, modem) for which no driver seems to be available on the drivers CD. At this point, the category "USB" contains four entries, two standard "Universal Host Controllers" and two "OpenHost' controllers, with the default drivers.
I suspect that the missing device can be a USB 2.0 "PCI controller host improved USB" from another manufacturer, but Toshiba does not offer a driver for XP for it then it should be supported by the OS (?).
Any suggestions as to what can be and what drivers need?It turns out that XP does support USB 2.0 according to the SP1, it seems a pre - SP1 version of XP Pro leads the native Windows drivers is not available. For anyone in a similar situation, it seems as if a) upgrade to SP1 or b) install the hotfix Q312370)
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Q312370_WXP_SP1_x86_ENU.exe
for the English version should throw a lot of download sites) followed by the autodetection of the native Windows drivers should do the trick. However, the following SP1 problem may come into play
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/FAQ.jsp?service=EU&FID=TRO0000001c0d
in this case, the "NEC PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller B1" driver required original can be found by searching for "USB driver" for "Windows 2000" for the Satellite A30 Toshiba driver download page.

Satellite M70-181 to perform the recovery of proceeds of DVD USB drive
Hello
I am trying to recreate the image on my Satellite M70 181 using the product recovery DVD.
Should be easy, you might say, but the internal DVD player no longer works.
I don't want to buy a new laptop this quite old, so I borrowed an external USB drive. After that I inserted the product recovery DVD the notebook starts from there, autoexec creates a RAMDRIVE and copy the files from there.
"Recover.bat", the external DVD player analysis must be accessible via the X: drive. However, there are has some missing files on the DVD to mount the external DVD drive: there is no file % RAMDRV%\TOOLS\USB20. DEV, nor a file % RAMDRV%\TOOLS\USB11. DEV.
Failure of the attempt to mount the external hard drive, recover.bat starts a loop saying 'Please insert Recovery CD #1!'.What can I do now? Help, please.
Thanks in advance

Hello
As much I know this model of laptop can't boot from USB CD/DVD drive and CD recovery.
You can boot from the USB FDD drive and a bootable floppy drive but I doubt that this is not possible with a Toshiba restore disk.I think that you could use this recovery disk as part of internal ODD.

external USB drives not recognized under xp pro 64
I bought a genuine version of XP Pro 64 to load on my computer and because Win 7 froze with drivers nVidia graphics.
When I plug a recently bought Seagate Goflex or one of the new Western Digital external hard drives, they are not recognized.
They do not show on my computer or disk management at all.
They appear in Device Manager with a yellow question mark big under 'other devices '.
I right click on the hard drive in the Device Manager to update the driver, and it always fails.
Before ask you, these USB drives work perfectly on my other XP Home 32 System. The cables are good.
I tried different ports, front and rear... no good.
My system XP 64 Prp is updated w/Windows update and software chip to the motherboard.
Strangely, I have a hard drive WD Passport USB 500 Gb one-year-old that works fine on XP 64 system.
WD technicians say that I am the only one with this problem. PlugNPlay needs no driver, what do say.
I also have IDE/SATA USB cable w / the power cable, I use to connect my old internal drives.
Works fine on the XP Home 32, but I get the error "USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge" in the device with the 64-bit System Manager.
Yes these devices are all "turned on."
Something is missing on the XP 64 system.
Help is very appreciated.
Been looking for a solution for a week now.
Thank you.

No option to create recovery/usb drives
I used my x 220 laptop for a year now and I am trying to port my OS on to a new drive mSATA I recently installed, but cannot create recovery disks to do this. I use rescue and recovery 4.5 for windows 7, but I don't see any option to create recovery/usb disks. I see only options to create a backup of my regular HARD drive and "create recovery media", which only seems to copy the service program of rescue and recovery, thinkvantage on the USB. I know that data that are installed on the USB key is not correct because it is about 500 MB, while I've read online that the complete recovery disk should take about 8.4 GB. I also know that I never created before recovery disks. Y at - it something that I'm missing is not let me create these disks?
hitokirix wrote:
is there an easier way to do this?
It's been a while since I've done it, but it worked in all situations where I tried: call Lenovo support and declare that you are unable to create recovery discs. There are several legitimate reasons to do this, for example from my experience...
1. my X61s did not come with a DVD player and I don't have a DVD USB drive connected.
2. my T60p reported all kinds of program errors when I tried to use the utility provided to create diskettes.
3. an another ThinkPad (don't remember the model number) had a HD crash under warranty. Lenovo sent me a replacement HD but I had no recovery discs. (I had backups Acronis full score but Lenovo didn't and I didn't volunteer).
4. one of my friends refused the license agreement for Windows on its ThinkPad. Instead, he decided to try Linux. After a few weeks of frustration with Linux, he decided to return to the Windows fold. Since he had not accepted the license to the first start agreement, it had been unable to create recovery discs.
If your system is under warranty in my experience that Lenovo will send you a set of toll-free recovery disks. You may need to be a little persistent, but as long as you keep it clean, you should get them. Note however the last time I did that was at least 3 years ago so their policy may have changed. Also note that, in any case, my request is legitimate. YMMV.

How can I migrate a time machine backup external USB drive to time capsule
Searched the forums and can't seem to find an answer. With the help of El Capitan 10.11.6. You want to transfer backups Time Machine 4 years on an external USB drive on my new Time Capsule. Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated.
There is no official method because it has problems.
There's no official way.
Here see Q18. http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html
We recommend that people not me there. It has not proven reliable long-term. Start a new backup on the TC and keep the USB stick in the form of archive. After a few months or a year you won't have it.
You have to understand the Time Machine backup otherwise locally the CF network. It is easy enough to move the backup network local but much harder the other way around.

How can I make an external USB drive read-only?
I'm trying to find a solution to take a USB HD in a spacing classified environment / air. If I can make the drive read-only (like I gave him that I need to copy on these machines), then the Agency will probably approve the device. I can't use DVDs that data are 30 + GB in size.
Hey there, capsfanva!
Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! It seems you need to set permissions on an external USB drive or hard drive. These permissions setting is a great way to improve the security and privacy of these elements. You've come to the right place and you will find the answer below. You must connect the device to your computer and follow these steps:
Set permissions for the items on your Mac OS X El Capitan:

Cannot share the SD as usb drive
I'm under 1.1 on a fire of Alcatel filed. I enabled two options to share the sd card (which works fine) as a usb drive, but it does not recognize my computer (Debian). When I connect the phone, it creates an sdb entry in / dev, but without partition (sdb1).
So far, the only way to achieve this is by issuing the command described here (http://yorik.uncreated.net/guestblog.php?2014=15), "Adding access usb to SD card" > step 5. I do whenever I plug in the phone, of course.
Additional information:
-The sd card works fine. I can use it on the computer with a microsd card.
-The sd card works fine on the phone too.
-J' have enabled usb drive and shared the sd card in the phone.
-The page I linked indicates the partition should appear when I unlock the home screen, I have tried that but it still does not work. This has been resolved for me in rev version 1.1.0.0 01020.

USB drive will not appear in the finder, but is OK in disk utility
My "music backup" external USB 1 TB SSD showed in the Finder, until a few days ago, when he disappeared. I tried dismantling and Assembly of the command line. The said command-line editing is successful, but I still don't see the drive in Finder.
If I go into disk utility "First aid" reports no problem. The drive is formatted for OS X. If I right click and say "Open in the Finder" I can see all the folders and even drag in the sidebar where they work, even after a reboot. I can't see the drive at a higher level.
How can I fix it? I guess a solution would be to create a folder called "Music disc" and then move all files on the disc in it and then put it on the sidebar, but it seems silly. How can I get my hard drive appears again in the finder.
PS Si I use a third-party file manager, such as ordering a PRO, the USB drive is available for selection in the drop-down list of disks attached.
Help!
The Finder, choose utilities go to menu, open the Script Editor and run:
the shell script ' chflags nohidden ' / Volumes/VolumeName /'.
put the name of the drive where is VolumeName.

Why my PST file is not available?
My Outlook PST file is stored on my network at work. Usually, when I 'Explorer' on this record, he is an icon in the taskbar indicating if it is 'offline' or 'online '. I don't see that option today and it won't let me open my PST file.
