get internet connection through another computer...
Hello
I would go straight to the point :)
I have a desktop running windows vista. I have a normal internet connection through a router that connects to the internet on this desktop computer.
now, I also have a laptop with windows xp and here is what I do. my laptop's wireless was always bothers me, sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't work out... so I saw that there is an Ethernet card installed in the laptop with an Ethernet port.
My question is this:
I have a lot of Ethernet cables at home and I was wondering if there is a way to get internet to my laptop via the Ethernet port on my desktop, but without needing the desktop computer to be running, cause I only use my laptop these days and my router is too far to connect from my room. I hope you understand my problem. In theory, I think it's possible to do, but I'm not sure how, so please help me on this one. my laptop also has firewire, but I prefer ethernet for some reason any.
Thank you
Hello
Sorry, but you cannot get a connection via another computer if the computer is off.
I'm not sure that I understand completely the topology. However, if the office is connected by cable to a router for Internet connection, you can solve the problem by buying a simple network switch.
You take the cable from the desktop and connect to the switch. Then you plug the desktop and laptop computer at the switch.
That this switch network does, it divides a cable to feed many computers.
Example of a switch that can be connected with a cable to a router and feed 5 computers.

Kodak M530's connection on another computer
I have a Kodak M530 and used to use it with a Vista PC. This hard drive has been corrupted, so I use an XP now. I can't connect the old camera to the computer 'new '. When I try to upload my pictures, I always get a message indicating that the device or the scanner is busy - try again later.
How can I use the camera with another computer?Thank youTerriI have a Kodak M530 and used to use it with a Vista PC. This hard drive has been corrupted, so I use an XP now. Just some thoughts...Personally, I think that the best method is to use a USB
media player with memory card from the camera.Something to try...
Connect the device to your PC via a USB cable and turn
on the camera... If open windows... Close them.According to... to... Start / my computer... the camera can be
listed as a drive letter...If_yes_right click on the drive letter and select... Explorer or
Open... This should display the directory of the memory card.
You can copy and paste or drag and drop the files from there to a
folder on your hard drive.(The same steps work if you have a media player...
When you go to... Start / desktop media slots...
Drive should be listed under... "Removable disk" with a drive
letter.)Also... you can try to start the scanner and Camera Wizard:
The executable for the scanner and Camera Wizard is:
wiaacmgr.exeIf you connect your camera via USB / light / and go to...
Start / run... and type or copy / paste the following and press on...
Enter... must start the wizard:C:\Windows\System32\wiaacmgr.exe
Aside from that... maybe your AutoPlay settings must be
adjusted... the AutoPlay repair Wizard may be worth a try.Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard

share my internet connection with another computer using a router
My question is if I give you my wep key to another computer in my house so that it can access the internet will be my files or no matter what content of my computer stays private, I need to share my internet connection without sharing something else?. Thanks JF
In general, it is safe to do so - just a person granting access to your network will not give them access to your files on your computer unless you are already sharing files with another computer on your network. In this case, you want to check your sharing settings to make sure that the shared files are not available for all users of the network. The thing I'd be worried, is whether or not the person you share with is "don't own"-no virus, malware, etc. on their computer, given that some of these programs can spread via a shared network connection.

Can't see another computer for file sharing
HelloI have 2 computers in my house, a PC running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 and the other a XP Home Edition SP3 race, both connected to the Internet through a router TL-MR3420 and the adapter TP-LINK TL-WN822N. I have enabled the sharing of files on both computers and have no problem to display all of the files shared between each computer, so far.Whenever I try to view another computer via "Network" or "homegroup" menu on 7 (or my network places on XP), I can't see my other computer which is supposed to be there. So far, I've tried a few attempts to analyze and resolve:1 ping each other by IP - success.2 ping each other by the name of the computer - has failed.3. try to access to "-and "." run - failed with error 0 x 80070035 - path not found network. 4 run diagnose step above on Windows 7, she returned with a result: "the device or resource (my static IP XP) is not configured to accept connections on port 'The file sharing and printers (SMB)'."5 turn off the firewall on the computers and router.6. ensure that necessary services for file sharing are active.7. the reactivation of the wireless connection on both computers.8 change the name of the Working Group on both computers.9. run ipconfig/all on both computers.10 install this fix on my XP.Ipconfig, it seems my two computers showing the active DHCP on 'no', so I changed my network settings to "obtain an IP automatically" she turns to the 'yes' later. And "NetBIOS over TCP/IP", showing the different statutes on 7 that it is activated on XP it is disabled, even though I put it activated via the WINS tab on the XP network settings. Still do not solve the problem.I don't know if it means something, but I share also some folders on my 7 to my Tablet ES File Explorer app, it works as it should (as long as I use static IP address), but if I try to connect my tablet to shared folders on XP, it always shows error message on either:WiFi is turned off (it is)SMB server is out of reach of the networkThe ip address is not validBlocked by the firewallSMB service is disabledI guess that Wifi, IP and firewall are not the problem, and I don't know about SMB, it's stands for Samba / file Printer Sharing? He has already checked on computer network settings.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.I solved this.
I opened my XP, run these commands via cmd:netsh int ip reset resetlog.txtnetsh winsock resetRestart the computer and then change my connection of cable wireless lan then back to wireless again. -
If Mozilla is server-based, why are my bookmarks/favorites not available when I connect to my account? Thanks for any help!
This must be provided. Firefox is not based on server it is installed on your device.
It is possible to synchronize the devices using Firefox Sync, but it is not appropriate if you use someone elses computer.
You might consider taking a copy of your bookmarks with you or placing them available somewhere on the web (or on a medium such as a memory stick).
- Use bookmarks HTML
- Export your bookmarks as HTML. Open this file with Firefox. Try it first on your local computer.
- See Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks
- Noticing no need to import the file it will be readable in Firefox. It is not not searchable from the address bar or bookmarks manager, but it should be a useful list of usable and searchable.
- Use a Firefox profile on the other computer.
If you have Firefox installed and the permission of the owner of the other computer (it can be your own additional machine), you will be able to synchronize or migrate the profile details, including bookmarks. Or just restore a set of bookmarks from the other machine.
- Use bookmarks HTML

Hello
I started with Oracle Database 11g, with apex XE, fact the upgrade of the Apex 4.2.6 and to develop a small Application.
I wanted to connect to my computer (with step of database on this subject) from another computer Windows 7 B.
So I put Firefox: //A:8080/apex but I have only received a timeout.
Of course, on both computers there is a firewall of windows running, so I stopped on both systems, the firewall, but it is always the same.
In Explorer windows running on computer B, I can see data from computer A and both computers are in the same home-net group. (Sorry for my bad English).
Is there anyone who cann tell me how to get the connection running?
Maybe I saw the info on this in the textbooks, if it is there, please give me a hint.
Thank you very much

to connect to another computer in the same room
How can I connect to the computer in the same room, I have broadband and use an adapter to run two computers. I want to be able to see what's been done on the other computer
Hello
The easiest way is with a crossover cable - a special wire to connect the two systems.
You can get one at your local computer store - they are not expensive. You can also configure an ad - hoc network that looks to use the cable above in that it
only connects the two machines directly however by wireless.Do you already use a router? If so you can network through it.

You can set up a wired or wireless network.

How to use wifi when connected to another computer?
I am currently in a situation where I need screen sharing another mac via ethernet with my thunderbolt, while the Wifi adapter. I have a 2014 the computer I want to see is a new Mac Mini and Macbook Pro screen. When we are connected by ethernet, none of my wifi signal works, even if I am logged in. My computer is looking for internet connection coming from the mac mini, but that is not connected to the internet. As soon as I unplug my shot of lightning/Ethernet, then my wifi starts immediately to the top. In any case to be connected to my wifi, as well as the other computer by ethernet at the same time? Thank you
Steve
Your description is disconcerting.
Do not run cables on the carpet between the computers. Connect all devices to your router or switches that connect to your router, or via Wi - Fi to your router.
You have a SINGLE network. Some devices can be connected by Ethernet and others by Wi - Fi, but it's the same network. There is no need to have all devices to use the same media. Ethernet is the fastest connection you can do, so if you have an Ethernet connection, Wi - Fi can be "".
As long as each device can get on the Internet at the same time without rewiring, you can also do a computer connection to computer whenever you want.
