  I was dual-boot my computer with Windows Vista on it with Fedora 12 via a live dvd that I got installed. I kept only Vista because there are several programs that I use and are not able to be run on Fedora 12 no matter what I do (including the use of wine). Unfortunately, when I tried to start the operating system from Vista instead of Fedora earlier this morning, he told me start Grub pilot was missing and so Vista could not start.

• Time machine freezes when going back in time on a particular week

  I run ERD without problem, reset the permissions etc.

  At the time of this particular date / week, I discovered a set of 4000 pdf small files lacked especially after that I moved the folder that they were in the Office to a subfolder.    Permissions are read-only - when I restored it Time machine should load in the box deposit - change the permissions to read/write, and then move them into the folder that I wanted to.

  Funny about them I had loaded them out of a CD and the system said I had no permission to write to the directories but copied in anyway.

  With the restoration of time machine, he wrote the main folder and a subfolder and 2 documents and then gave the error on the permissions.

  That's all the time I started having problems - firstly could not go into the time machine at all, can now save on that day- but then the system freezes and as its full screen - is not an interruption.

  FWIW, I've never had TM freeze. Rather than trying to understand what happened, I would erase the TM drive and let it do a new, full backup. I don't think I would try to make backup on separate partitions. I try to avoid any possible confusion. In my own world, I have two external TM HD partitions (in addition to other partitions that contain bootable clones, among others). The backup on them alternating system (it's a framework, I recall).

• NTLDR is missing - when you try to install Windows 7 on another hard drive

  I have a PC Compaq Presario SR2027X a/w Win XP Media Center Edition SP3 installed.  I downloaded and installed the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine if WIN 7 would go on my system.  The airport of Win 7 Upgrade Advisor said that I could install Win 7.  I bought Win 7 32 bit and 2-1 GB PC5300 memory sticks.  I first installed the memory and booted up the system.  Everything worked well.  BIOS has seen the new memory and I have not encountered any error.

  I then turning the system off and removed the HDD (120 GB Sata).  I installed another hard drive (160 GB Sata) which had been restructured and ready to use.  The BIOS detects the hard drive and the BIOS has been changed for a start of the OPTICAL drive.  I then placed the WIN 7 32-bit software disk in the OPTICAL drive and saved the changes in BIOS and rebooted the system.  I was expecting to see the normal WIN 7 screens during the installation.  Instead, I got "NTLDR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart".

  Then I tried pressing ESC during boot to enter the boot menu.  Once in the boot menu, I select the optical drive and now I get the message "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND press ENTER".  I opened and close the optical drive optical drive light lights up, and I then press on enter.  I get the same message on "DISK BOOT FAILURE,...» ».

  I built more than 40 PC and have never had this problem.  Is there something unique about Compaq/HP PC's that prevents me to install WIN 7 on another hard drive that is not the original hard drive came with this pc?

  I think that your problem is due to a failure of CD/DVD drive or disk installation of Windows 7 corrupt or unbootable. Please check that the CD/DVD drive is fully functional and functional as should be. • "Aero Peek" selects windows on top, but after a second selected window is coming back, behind other windows. __

  When I use Aero Peek and select 1 window to bring it over the top, he goes there, but after a second, he goes back and hides.   I had this problem too on my iMac (21.5 inch, late 2009) and I tried to restore to the previous version and then do the update again, but I got the same results.  I also tried to reinstall OS X option of the application of the utilities on the recovery disk that took a few hours but got the same results.  Finally, I tried to restart and make a secure boot (hold down the SHIFT key when the bell rang and rejection when the Apple shows up) and I was able to get the computer to boot.  When I logged in a window pops up saying "Complete Installation" and still had 6 min.  When he finally finished, I was an able to connect as usual and everything works fine now.   My mid 2009 Macbook Pro has no problems with the update but my iMac has been a pain.  I hope this helps you and anyone else who may have this problem.
