  • How can I recover missing Windows Vista themes?

My operating system is vista Home premium, but I realized it lacked the themes except the classic windows theme. How can I get these themes in return?

There is no separate download for the themes that come with Vista.  If they are missing, the only way to recover is to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version of the system came with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to make a record of slipstream as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

There are many other themes Vista free available online that you can download and use instead if you don't want to do the repaiir/upgrade or if you do not have access to a facility genuine Windows Vista disc and therefore cannot make the repair/upgrade.  Perhaps alternatives theee will be sufficient.  Here's a search for free Vista themes you can check and see if they will satisfy you: http://www.bing.com/search?q=Free%20Vista%20themes&mkt=en-us&FORM=TOOLBR&DI=6244&CE=14.0&CM=SearchWeb.

    I hope this helps.

  • Boot MGR missing, Windows Vista,

Hey! so I have a Lenovo that runs on windows vista, and it had this nasty virus that I could only remove by resetting my computer back to factory settings (I saved most of my personal files) and if that wasn't bad enough, when I tried to restart my computer it says "Boot MGR is missing, press Ctrl alt delete to restart ' does NOT incidentally , so long story short, to fix it, I need to use the windows vista disc to repair the file, but I don't have the disc, but I have the key phrase that sits on the bottom of my computer when I bought it, so any suggestions regarding How can I come on a windows vista disc or download windows vista so I can burn it to a disc? preference for free because I already OWN Windows Vista?

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer/laptop there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

  • Get Windows Vista themes back please READ

One night, after that I closed my laptop that I forgot to do something on the laptop and when I log in the computer froze several times. After that the Office had the appearance of task bars passed Windows Vista default to Windows Classic. Because it was late, I decided to put it off until the next day. When I opened the next day I was unable to access the control panel and the Customize option when you right-click the screen. When I restarted the computer, I was able to access both, but it took way to long than expected. When I opened the tab customize or properties and go to the themes tab, I was unable to find the default theme of Windows Vista. So now I'm stuck with some ugly theme. I scanned my computer COMPLETELY , used Disk Defragmenter and restarted the computer and nothing is the fix. The same problem of window will also the Internet. After all it the default theme has been well, deleted. Any chance to resume?

    Hello redfalcon67,

To resolve this problem, use the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker to determine which file is causing the problem, then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow (Yes there is a space after sfc) the sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

To determine which files can be repaired by the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
findstr/c: "[SR] cannot repair the military file" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt

Note The Sfcdetails.txt file contains details of every time that the System File Checker tool has been run on the computer. The file contains information about the files that are not repaired by the System File Checker tool. Check the date and time entries to determine the problem files that were found last time that you ran the System File Checker tool.

    3. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      Edit sfcdetails.txt

The Sfcdetails.txt file uses the following format:

      The date/time SFC detail

The following example of log file contains an entry for a file that could not be repaired:

2007-01-12 12:10:42, info CSI 00000008 [SR] cannot repair the military record [l:34 {17}] "Accessibility.dll" of accessibility, Version 6.0.6000.16386, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_MSIL = (8), VersionScope neutral, neutral culture, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:b03f5f7f11d50a3a}, type neutral, TypeName neutral, neutral public key in the store, file is missing "

If the System File Checker tool cannot repair a file, follow these steps:

    1. At a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

      takeown /f Path_And_File_Name

For example, type takeown /f E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.

    2. Type the following command and press ENTER to grant administrators full access to the file:
      ICACLS Path_And_File_Name/grant ADMINISTRATORS: F

For example, type icacls E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll/grant administrators: F.

    3. Type the following command to replace the file with a known good copy of the file:
      Copy Path_And_File_Name_Of_Source_File Path_And_File_Name_Of_Destination

For example, type copy E:\temp\jscript.dll E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.

Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

  • Produce shows Checker tool missing Windows Classic.theme?

After running the sfc/scannow SFC tool the journal indicates the Windows Classic.theme file is missing [where he has been under C:\Windows\Resources\Themes]...and unable to fix because of the file in the store is also corrupt... I don't know I don't know what that means other that I can't get an easy fix or automatic. I have had a long-standing problem of not being able to save a theme, any theme as a custom color wallpaper or a customized version of Windows Standard, etc.. Save it under... does not work as the dialog box remains open and my question is what it might be because the Windows Classic.theme file is missing in the folder resources Aero? If Yes, where can I copy the classic theme file? I tried quitting a little and the only place where I can find this file is in the MSDN Library, Tech and he treats the download as a "sample"... and I'm not sure of what would make a copy of a file for me? Thank you.

Download SP2 yet once, it is not the solution to the mounting system files.

It is a common problem when you perform a repair installation, as different levels of MS.

Read this note of General information, I did for the problem of SP2:

Looking for a difference in numbers/Service Pack levels.

If Service Packs came pre-installed on the operating system, there is no way to uninstall them.
You will need to swap the drive that you are using a later version that includes the missing Service Pack.

On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have installed.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"

If the installed OS has the disk with Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

  • Missing Windows Vista key

    Hello

I recently visited Tiger Direct to remove a virus from my dv6000 (bought new at HP in 2008). They advised that it was better to wipe my system and reload everything, so I let that happen. Now I like my version of Windows is not genuine and to enter my product key, but my Windows the license sticker on the bottom of my laptop is unreadable. I went back to Tiger Direct and they said that HP would be able to give me a Vista key if I gave them the serial number on my laptop. Is this true? I would really like to have my fully operational windows in return and am not currently able to upgrade to another operating system.

    Hello:

You have to get a set of recovery disks which normally do not need to enter a product key.

Information on how to order recovery disks is on the link below.

HP, or Microsoft will give you a replacement windows product key.

  • D missing Windows Vista disk

I had to restore my Acer Extenza to factory default. My C drive works fine but the D drive does not appear in my computer.  In my disk computer management C shows 69,65 GB and there is space "unallocated" showing 79,40 GB. I think this is my D drive, but how can I restore it back so that I can use it again.

    Hello

Machines from Acer with Vista have a D: Partition which is called data by Acer.

You normally C: and D: and the recovery partition has been hidden.

They were normally the same partitions of memory size.

step 2 read this link for how to format and use that no allocated space

The other thing you could do is extend C: so that you have a large partition.
