  I'm quite new to script InDesign. I do a script that moves and makes duplicate various page elements. My problem comes when the user has moved the origin of the rule it messes up my script.

  How, within a script, can you put the ruler origin to the top left of the page/spread?

  In addition, when you use a method pageItem.move (to) or pageItem.duplicate (to) , how do you know if you are using a left upper anchor point reference or a reference point of the centre centre etc.?

  1. RulerOrigin sets whether the rule is relative to the page or spread (or vertebral column, which I say - highly recommend for normal use...). This enumeration is used (see below) to "ViewPreference.rulerOrigin" and "ViewPreference" is in turn used as "Document.viewPreferences". This gives you the line

  app.activeDocument.viewPreferences.rulerOrigin = RulerOrigin.PAGE_ORIGIN;
  

  This defines the relative position. The absolute zero can be defined via a document property: Document.zeroPoint ("the origin of the rule, specified as contact page in the format [x, y]"):

  app.activeDocument.zeroPoint = [ 0,0 ];
  

  2. the methods that are in need of a proxy site all accept an AnchorPoint, which it can be "Left", "Top", "Center right" and so on as in the proxy form.

  But if you check the command PageItem, move , you can see there is nothing on the "anchor". It seems that this command uses only the anchor on the left for the "to" (for movement of which corner you use, it does not matter). It goes the same for PageItem.duplicate.

  If you want to experiment and play around a bit, you can read the 'current' setting as 'LayoutWindow.transformReferencePoint ': Control Panel

• HP Slate 10 HD 3604 EV - no network 3g mobile?

  Hello... Just bought HP Slate 10 HD 3604 EV... but unable to connect to a 3g network.

  When I try to do the initial Setup, it says that I should connect to wifi and later I can switch to a mobile network.

  OK, do I connect to wifi, get everything done and then when I go to the menu"without wireless & networks"... there is no option for "mobile networks".

  I removed the SIM card and inserted in another Tablet, and it worked fine there.  If the SIM is OK, but when I put it in my HP slate 10, nothing happens.  As I said, the menu hasn't even the option to data mobile, apn, etc..

  I do not understand that this tablet isn't a phone... and that the SIM card is reserved for data, right?  But it was advertsied as a 3g + WiFi tablet, that's why I bought it.  I'd appreciate your help... Is there something that I'm not just doing? How can I use my mobile network to connect to the internet?

  Slate loan proceeds 10 HD I have HP (planned for me my help here), the 'switch' to use the Mobile data is located in the section "use of data".  You will find a slider to market "Mobile Data".

  Mine came with a SIM card for T-Mobile.  I had to create an account with them to use the connection. (I was using today to a Dr. appointment!)

  There was some other posts here of users who try to insert their own SIM cards.  Not much reported success.

  If I understand correctly the Vodafone India does not support direct TCP.  Search the forum for other entries that have discussed this and the options that are available to you.

• Windows 8 don't get files from my mobile phone via bluetooth, why?

  I have a Sony Ericsson WT13i mobile. It pairs with any windows/pc/laptop via Bluetooth very well except with WINDOWS 8! 'Add a device' using Bluetooth OK, but it does not appear in 'Start' also during reception of files - shown as sent on my mobile - this error appears:

  Bluetooth file transfer is not complete

  Windows was not able to transfer files

  What I can suggest is to go to the screen, boot go to Search and type fsquirt. The window of Bluetooth file transfer . The next step will be as follows:

  1. Select send files (a list of Bluetooth devices is displayed).
  2. Select the device to send files and click Next.
  3. In the next window, click Browse to select the files to send, and then click Next.

  Windows will attempt to send the file to the selected device. A message should appear on the device asking if you want to accept the transfer. Once the transfer is successful, a message appears saying "file transferred successfully" appears. Let us know how it goes.

• Impossible to get T-Mobile SIM to work in Windows 8

  I have Windows 8 is installed.  The laptop is a Sony VAIO VPCSB with built in SIM card reader, allowing 3 G/GPRS connectivity.   I have a T-Mobile Data only SIM card active, worked in Windows 7, and still works in a Huawei T-Mobile Hotspot device.
  8 WIndows recognizes the device (Sony uses Gobi 2000), and I have the ability to switch mobile data power via the PC settings.
  
  When I try to connect, Windows 8 by default, Verizon network settings.   I try to change it to T-Mobile by entering a string of network (t - mobile.co.uk), the username and the password * (provided by T-Mobile).   None of these parameters work.
  I work in it, so reasonably tech savvy.  I would like to know if there is a dorsal location (e.g. Control Panel) instead of Windows 8 PC installation interface to define the parameters of my T-Mobile APN?
  Similarly, confused why Windows 8 is failing to Verizon.  In Windows 7, it automatically recognized as a T-Mobile SIM card.

• Play Google store does not accept the ADF Mobile apps for tablets

  My ADF Mobile app is published on the Google game, but he says that the app is not compatible with the tablets, for the following reasons:

  1. properly target the Android Versions

  I fixed this by going into the properties of the Application > deployment > Android profile > edit > Options Android > change target SDK API level from 9 to 14.

  I understand the problem, but I need help to find a good solution.

  The problem is, when ADF Mobile deploys on the package, it creates an AndroidManifest.xml file and since my application uses SMS, it necessarily adds a < permission > element for telephony.  In general, approval will be "implies" that phone is a "requirement of functionality of the material" unless we also add an element of <>uses feature corresponding with android: required = "false".  However, ADF Mobile not set the < uses > function in the AndroidManifest.xml.

  Does anyone know a good solution for this?  (I searched for a way to configure this in ADF Mobile and in the docs, but it found nothing. "And I can't manually change the AndroidManifest.xml because ADF Mobile it creates in the middle of the deployment process).

  3. take advantage of the extra screen available on shelf area

  I have no start troubleshooting this in detail yet, but I'm curious to know how the Google game store, determines exactly?

  Edit: Title changed this message, because I believe it is a more serious current problem.  Will respond with more information soon.

  Hi, Patrick, recently Google game made a number of changes, so it is much stricter in terms of supported Android.  Successfully, we applied workarounds and found the combination that seems to work for Google play.  Here are the details based on your questions:

  (1) the level of the API should not matter as long as it's 9 or above - 9 is the current default value.  Nothing specific in ADF Mobile that requires the level more high API.  However, if you are interested you should limit your application to 4.x devices, you can set the minimum and target API level accordingly to assert that.

  (2) by default, ADF Mobile says all the permissions of the device which may potentially be required by the framework.  This is why, for example, even if the application accesses a camera, the AndroidManifest.xml file will still contain references to the permissions of the camera.  Possibility to choose the correct hardware permissions selectively is planned for the next version of Mobile of the ADF.  In the meantime, you can change the AndroidManifest.xml file template in an extension of the ADF Mobile as the workaround.

  (3) Google game uses the element of "Supports the screen" in the file AndroidManifest.xml to determine what factors shape/devices are supported.  Summary of form factors supported and densities are described here: supporting multiple screens | Android developers.  ADF Mobile supports the display of different density already.  In what concerns the size of the screen, you must add the element "supports the screen" in the model of manifest file xml for the size of the screen that you want to support.  For example, if you want to add in support of all devices:

  Android: normalScreens = 'true '.

  Android: largeScreens = "true".

  Android: xlargeScreens = "true" / >

  The Android site would give you definitions of what mean these sizes.

  Finally, here are the instructions on changing the template AndroidManifest.xml:

  -Access file /JDeveloper/JDev/Extensions/oracle.adf.mobile/Android/Oracle_ADFmf_Framework.zip

  -Make a backup copy of the zip file

  -Unzip the file, which would be to extract all files in a directory of 'framework '.

  -Navigate to the framework/template/AndroidManifest.template.xml file

  -Use a text editor to change the permissions of the device, as well as the addition of the screen element supports as indicated above.

  -Zip up the framework directory and name the file zip as Oracle_ADFmf_Framework.zip, replacing the old.  Please make sure that the zip file has the same directory structure exactly as before.

  -In JDeveloper, before you deploy the application, please do a "Clean All" to clean up all the old objects deployment.

  -Deploy the application - the application should now be visible for tablets, as well as with adequate permissions.

  -Download the application on Google game - no further action is necessary in the game of Google around form factors supported and the permissions of the device.

  Now the Android deployment process does not additional validation for the device permissions are actually necessary, therefore, to ensure that these are properly defined.

• Lightroom mobile syncing the iPhone to the web site but no office

  I created an album on my iPhone in Lightroom Mobile and set it to auto import of my camera. This album works fine on the iPhone and all the new images appear when I discovered lightroom.adobe.com. The album also appears in my Lightroom Mac, but the images never import to it. Please notify.

  OK, I found this one. Lightroom looks like the folder for a folder Lightroom Mac /Pictures to write the Mobile Downloads.lrdata file and its contents. I had moved my Lightroom to Dropbox folder it and created an alias in /Pictures. Lightroom did not like the alias. As soon as he took a new Lightroom directory were made and a new Downloads.lrdata Mobile file has been created.

• Sync connection timeout setting

  Our directors have recently set up a new app server on our test environment for the system and switched the mobile instance to the new platform.
  
  Since then, we have a problem where the synchronization sessions that are "slow" because of not channeled to the client for more than 300 seconds of data fails with "discioonnected network during synchronization" even if the query of database by selecting the data continues.
  
  
  System test environment is a very slow database box and there are a few problems with submission with watercourse causing poor performance, but before setting up the new application server, the synchronization sessions have no timeout. The two settings Mobile Server and client are the same, as far as I can see, so I don't think it's a mobile related setting causing the disconnection, but I don't know where else to look at (and the DBA is not a lot of help)

  You use SV or stand alone? If the OAS, then your Apache server could be timing your exit. Here are a couple of settings that you can watch:

  httpd.conf:

  SOCKET_TIMEOUT = 900 - if you see a lot of FC_TIMEOUT mistakes in your debug.txt, this helps keep the network socket open for the optimal transport of data.

  Under the polite.ini synchronization
  TIMEOUT_MAX = 900
  RESUME_CLIENT_TIMEOUT = 900

  Also, how many times you run stats on MOBILEADMIN? Do you use histograms? If you are, don't.

  You're all partition mapping and community cards? This could help with performance as well.

  My rule of thumb is that your queries will ever-more than 60 seconds then start to carry data. It, then you run more then in addition to problems of overall performance, which is not good for any application on the server. The same goes for MGP as well as SYNC.

• WiFi Hotspot question!

  I just got SO - 01 G Docomo Z3 Xperia.  This is already achieved the sim lock feature deactivation code.  So I can use it on the network Lte and 3G (Trinet Dtac) in Thailand.  Everything was fine until I turn on the WiFi Hotspot feature.  All devices (Sony Vaio PC and mini iPad 3) were connected to Z3 without problem.  But no activity on the internet was not working.  All devices are unable to browse the internet, facebook not connect, etc.

  So, I got a seroius looking at all aspects of management of telephone network.  I discovered the APN setting which could be visible at any time when you look at, you use cell phone networking or not.  However, when the WiFi Hotspot is activated, then the parameter APN was empty and all settings has been disable. All access points have been disappearing.  Then disable the WiFi Hotspot feature, any parameter in the page of the AFN were back as usual.

  I have concluded that it is the root of this problem.  But do not know how to fix it!
  Everyone here has found a solution to this issue, please help me.

  It is the right way to solve the problem with block WiFi Hotspot. This could be the problem with some Z3 with some some company like NTT Docomo, AU, Softbank or even three Mobile to the United Kingdom. This is not required at the root of your Z3.

  It can be a little difficult for the generation of people "point and click", since it involves with command line in Windows.

  Let's start:

  1. you need a PC with Win 7, 8 or 8.1 (not so sure on Xp). Also, having a Java runtime installed (www.java.com)

  2. Goto https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#top , then download Android SDK Tool Kit (no need full Adroid Studio Suite). Install it on your PC, if you haven't, yet.

  3. pay attention to where it installs to. normally it will be goto C:\\Program Files (x 86) \Android\Android-SDK\Platform-tools

  

  4. then take a look in his file for the adb.exe file. If it is not present, you install from Android SDK Manager like that figure. Check on Android SDK Platform-tools, checked on updates/news and installed then click on install. ?... package.

  

  5 Goto your Z3 if you still not enable developer option on your phone. GoTo > setting > about phone > tab on built number 7 times. Option developer goto check then the USB debugging.

  6 connect your phone to the PC using the USB cable wait until your PC displays connected Z3.

  7. Open command prompt on your PC. Then navigate to the C:\\Program Files (x 86) directory \Android\Android-SDK\Platform-outils.

  

  8. in the command prompt window, type" abd shell "and enter. Then what shell open, type the parameters" put global tether_dun_required 0 "then enter.

  9. wait until the complete command shell.

  10 disconnect you Z3 then put power off and power on.

  11. now you phone should perform a normal activity of WiFi Hotspot.

• How to do an http Basic by wifi connection just without data plan?

  Ok. Here's the situation: I have developed an application that makes a connection http Basic (connector.open (url)). It woks fine on Simulator course since it uses the mds Simulator. I'm targeting os 5 and above. Now I started to test on the actual device (curve 9300). The real problem is how can I go out with just a default connection. I mean a generic that doesn't care what type of transport, the phone has and uses only the default. As you know has 9300 WiFi. So hopefully I should be able to connect using my wifi at home. On the phone, I can establish connection wifi fine. The phone's browser do not allow through well. He complains: (error! wifi detected...) We are not able to authenticate you as you are not currently a Rogers... Please turn off your wifi connection, and launch your browser to try again). Well, if it means that I'm not on Rogers, it is not correct, as my base phone package is with Rogers, the SIM set in the phone. I tried his suggestion and of course, it does not work!

  What encourages me that it should work in principle, but I have two phone applications (Opera mini and google map) who are able to go online and make the connection.

  I tried to use a combination of parameters attached to the url, as follows:

  1. just by default without any parameter

  I wonder out exactly the Mobile network connection? I guess that's my basic phone plan puts online. I will be happy if that's the case for my app by there rather than the wifi connection if that is indeed what Opera mini and google map. But sorry to disappoint you, because even if I disable the first connection (i.e. Mobile network Rogers...) I am still able to use these two apps without problem! It makes me happy because it difinitely says I should be able to go online using only my wifi without data plan!

  On connection icons at the top of the phone to the right, I see the following

  Rogers - dlink.RezaNetwork 3 G (icon of the resistance)

  WiFi

  As you can see, my phone is connected to the wifi in my house.

  Anyway, after all this detail, anyone know if there is a solution to this problem? I mean google map and Opera Mini are able to go online without problem.

  I use eclipse for development and just well on Simulator.

  This is the result I get when I run the app through the eclipse on the device:

  (1) for the case when only a Wifi connection is enabled on the device connector.open (url) is called with no additional parameters, I get the error: net.rim.device.internal.io.criticalioexception: required radio isn't avtive.

  (2) for the case with wifi interface parameter defined as follows:

  String connStr = _theUrl + "; interface = wifi. "
  s = (connStr) Connector.open (StreamConnection);
  HttpConnection httpConn s = (HttpConnection);
  InputStream input = s.openInputStream ();

  There is no error reported, even though I capture all the exceptions of open(). But the stream returned is always empty!

  Just an update:

  The problem took over the redirect. It was a subject, I admit, I was quite familiar with. So, once read on responses from http status, the solution was easy. Also is it possible to simply use the wifi connection for http connections in the code. The build in the browser is another story and it depends on how the connection preferences are managed internally by the os and carrier I suppose, but lance in the code browser works very well, with just wifi traffic.
