Mobile of Lightroom and Camera Roll Sync

What happens if I delete the photos form my iPhone Camera Roll after that I imported into Lightroom Mobile? LR will keep a copy or a re-sync causing my pictures to get lost?

Thank you, Nick

Hi Nick,

If you imported the images and sync them in Lightroom using Lightroom for mobile, the images will be available in Lightroom mobile even if you remove the iPhone film.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Free Mobile App of Lightroom and LR Desktop Sync: - trial expired - should I CC?

    Hi all

5 Lightroom installed on Windows 10 (not CC)

Lightroom Mobile for iPad and Android

I'm not currently subscribe to CC.

I'm confused and need answer to a simple question: I need a CC license for synchronization?

With the recent announcement of Lightroom Mobile is free on Android and iPad, I adapted my workflow to use LR Mobile to perform a selection of image to edit later, for example, I am going through images, choose the best and then edit them on the desktop using Lightroom 5 (Windows). It is easy to go through a large amount of images when it suits me and I set up collections, successfully synchronized them with the selections of mobile and do my LR - it worked perfectly.

Now, I received the message on the iPad / Android that my trial has expired and I need a CC license. Is this correct?

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    Greetings!

Yes for Lightroom Mobile sync, you need a subscription to the CC.

Otherwise, you get a 30 day trial that you can use.

  • Curious question about previews of Lightroom and Camera Raw Cache

Posted in the Flickr Lightroom group as well:

I noticed something on the previews of Lightroom (3.6) and cache Camera Raw, intrigued me.

I create a new, empty catalog, and purge the Cache of Camera Raw.

Then I import ONE Nikon (NEF) RAW file with dimensions 2592 x 3872 (10 mega pixels - 10,036,224).

Then I export this NEF file to a TIFF 8-bit file uncompressed. You can expect this file size TIFF about 30 MB (10 megapixels x 3 bytes per RGB value) and in fact the TIFF file is size of 30,135,830 bytes. If you export the TIFF file same ZIP compression to specify the size of the resulting file is 10,834,038 bytes. The compression achieved here is obviously going to be highly specific to the image, but so far no surprises.

When you import I said make 1:1 previews and I spend in the Loupe and see the whole picture in the format 1:1. I also visit the development module and do a lot of manipulation on the image but not cropping.

At the conclusion of all this, I got out of Lightroom and examine file camera Raw Cache as well as previews of Lightroom file size. It would be my expectation that the previews folder should have a complete image rendering and Camera Raw Cache should also have a display form of raw data. What do you expect the size of these respective folders to be?

Indeed - in my tests that the previews folder totals a simple 1 675 264 bytes and Camera Raw Cache that contains an image DAT file cached one is simply 267 374 bytes. This doesn't seem like enough bits to preserve the image rendered, nor there at - it an image is full-size, nestled in the actual catalog - the file is not large enough to hold that. And yet I can use the magnifying glass to the format 1:1 mode and move an image to the image without loading delays (even when you import multiple files).

I wonder if I missed something obvious in my analysis and that, if someone might not care to speculate on what magic Adobe's practice here. Even if grant us them special algorithms to compress their insights that I don't see how they can achieve a compression so much larger than the file ZIP compressed TIFF realizes.

And for those who might think to ask - I have told these experiences with multiple raw images and on MAC or PC platforms.

I look forward to answers or interesting theories or maybe someone could reproduce the results of the experiment and report.

The previews in the preview cache are JPEG files. JPEG compression is much more effective than the lossless zip compression. No magic here.

Mr. Chan is obviously the expert on regards to the Camera Raw Cache.

  • Web/Mobile with Lightroom photos not completely sync.

Running Lightroom CC on a Mac with OS 10.11.  I have some pictures that are not sync for Lightroom Web or Mobile.  They have been added to a collection. other photos in the collection taken by the same camera on the same day and processed the same can be synchronized.  Little determination when not looking at the collection on the web, it has a white frame with a cloud and an exclamation point when you click on the States "Partially synchronized TJ iMac."  Tried to turn on syncing off tension then, same result.  Tried to do a new collection of these same photos, same result.  Anyone with a similar problem?  Thank you!

    Hi Raphael

Please make sure that the image you are trying to synchronize is not absent in the Lightroom Catalog.

  • Compatibility of Lightroom and camera?

I've read elsewhere where someone says that their new camera is not compatible with Lightroom 2.0.  It seemed a little weird, but I wanted to check this before making the purchase.  I know that my pc is compatible with the 2.0.   My camera is a Nikon D80 and I shoot in RAW and JPEG. Thank you!

While some camera raw photos are not compatible with Lightroom 2.0, almost all known camera raw photos are compatible with Lightroom 2.6, and if you have Lightroom 2 or later version, then Lightroom 2.6 is available as a free download. Nikon D80 raw photos can be read by Lightroom 2 or later version.

  • Problem with Lightroom and Camera Raw

I can't really make any sense out of Camera raw and other adobe products.

I have Lightroom 2.4, and if I click on the option 'a way', I said I have camera raw 5.4. However, I have no installed DCP files and therefore no options of calibration of the camera. All I see is "incorporated".

Are also installed in Photoshop Elements 7 (Camera Raw 4.5.0.175), first Elements 7 & Photoshop CS3 (Camera Raw 4.0).

I'm not an expert in the present, and I find the instructions on the site of adobe completely confused and hopeless.

I if advance is no reference to how to get a CR to my Lightroom update. I found 4.6 for CS3 that I understand I SLES later, but I just can't find how to get the camera profiles installed from an update.  If anyone can help.

    Thank you

    Colin

There is no Camera Raw to Lightroom update!  Lightroom does not use plug in Camera Raw.  All these features are part of the Lightroom program.  The profiles should be installed when you installed Lightroom 2.4.  When you see "Embedded", which indicates that you are working on a JPEG image.  You work on a raw image in order to see other profiles for your camera.

What device do you have? Some devices did not have a lot of different profiles.  When you open a raw image in Lightroom, you are able to see the different profiles?

  • I just updated my Bridge and Photoshop and camera raw is now my images appear dull?

As it is said above. My NEF (RAW) Preview on the left look great but a little as I open them in camera raw (right) to edit it alleviates instantly. It was fine before, before I did the update. Any ideas?

    Screen Shot 2015-07-09 at 1.42.26 PM.png

Since you didn't say what specific versions and what specific model of Nikon camera, it's just a guess: you have a D810 and updated to 2015 CC with cab 9.1 and your camera profile that said Adobe Standard now says flat camera.

The problem is that somehow versions.1 are ignores Adobe Standard profile and go to the next in the list that is flat camera.

The temporary solution until Adobe gives us a version.2 that works, once again, is to download and install the Adobe D810 Standard profile in the common area of the users profile.  Here is an Adobe help page on this topic:

When Lightroom and elements will support Nikon D600?  Is Meanwhile a workaround for D600 raw files can be exported to Lightroom or am I just out of business until what Adobe develops the necessary patch?

As best as I understand I can I as well rebox the 600 and go back to my older camera, supported, until whenever.

Lightroom and Camera Raw 7.2 4.2 (11 items) are currently available and provide support for the Nikon D600.

  • Mobile on desktop and sync files lightroom lost

My new laptop has crashed during file upward and the hard drive was missing. I had collections on mobile lightroom (thank God).

When I click on synchronize in lightroom desktop, my mobile app collections disappeared instantly.

One of them is a wedding album, I was working on a client. How could it happen?

At this time, there is a lot of help for situations like yours, but this does not mean that the Mobile with Lightroom is one of these solutions. Plain and simple is not.

Just like image files, Collections are present on our servers until they are be synchronized there by your office. Lightroom Mobile does not act as a container of storage for your files. If that's what you're looking for, then Lightroom Mobile is not good service. If you placed your files in Online Creative Cloud storage space, you would always have access to your files because a full copy of files are downloaded it for download from anywhere else.

Lightroom Mobile connects only to a catalog at a time. So, if you synchronize a catalog and go to another computer and try downloading these files it would not work. You must configure the Lightroom on the other computer to synchronize with Mobile and it loses the connection to Lightroom on the first computer and all the files that have been sync mobile would disappear.

  • LR mobile issues with recording of simulations of film RAW in Camera Roll

It does not appear that LR Mobile can export to iPhone/iPad Camera rolls with simulations of film. I'm editing in LR CC with Fuji film simulations on the files of the RAF, and they appear fine in LR Mobile (IE, black and white sims film appear as monochrome in mobile LR). However, after recording or sharing a title, they are in color, with apparently of all editions except the film sim card.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I asked around, and it seems that the Mobile application must be updated for the latest Fuji cameras. One thing you can do, is the normal method to make XPro2 black and white files. In order to choose a profile of Adobe and use the B & W Panel.
