Mode > convert > levels of grayscale, RGB %s

I understand that the Mode > convert > grayscale uses the channel mixer, anyone know what percentages of red, green and blue channels are used to create the image to grayscale?

Yes I see. It is the default value for the conversion to grayscale in Photoshop.

    Hello

I need to convert an image to Grayscale I16 U64 RGB, but it does not work (I joined a zip file).

I think that there is a bug in the Vision of OR, or it is not implemented, because I have no problem to do Grayscale U8 to RBG32.

Can you help me find a solution for this?

I need to use the function ReplaceColorPlane or equivalent because I have to perform various treatments on each channel (RGB).

    Thank you

    Hi Badgones73,

U64 image consists of four U16 values (R, G, B and alpha). LabVIEW represents 16-bit images as an I16. When the plans of color extract IMAQ is called, U16 value must be converted to values in I16. This is done by converting all values with the most significant byte of the 1 to 0. This means that all values of 32 768 to 65 535 are now 0. To avoid using the loss of these values, you must read the image in LabVIEW without using the functions of the vision.

Once you have extracted the U16 values, they can be converted from U16 images images I16. Once this is done, you will be able to use all functions of the Vision.

  • Magic wand does not work when I switch of grayscale, RGB

Hoping someone can help! I have a project where I scanned in a drawn hand image, then open in Photoshop, adjusted for the threshold and then in the menu "layer style", I adjusted the "mixture" level slightly to make the background transparent. I have at this point is my drawing in black on a transparent background. I need to make the white black parties, so I select with the magic wand and the 'fill' with white, but it becomes transparent. Then I tried to change color in RGB mode (it was originally gray), but then the magic wand will not select anything. Can anyone help with this?

If you follow my instructions (#7), no magic wand is involved.

What is its use in this case?

Review: after you open your image:

    1. If the layer is locked, the lock trash?

    2. have you Cmd + click the icon new layer in the layers panel to place a layer below what was the background layer?

    3. you return to the upper layer and double-click on it in the layers panel to bring up the layer Style?

    5. in the section mix if at the bottom of layer Style, have you moved the cursor of the gray-scale top of page from right to left until the surround became transparent?

If you answered 'yes' to all, just follow the previous instructions in my #7.

There is no magic wand involved

    Three reminders:

You place a layer of white in the background (as shown in step 2) layer

You must use the layer > merge to the low order and not the layer > command Flatten Image

You do not need to save the file in jpg format

  • Convert images to grayscale

Hi guys, I have a problem for you, experts...
I inserted a few RGB images in my reports (MS Word, PDF output template); in some cases, I need to convert the image to grayscale.
Y at - it an option of the BI Publisher that helps me to achieve this goal? Maybe in the same time, or in the model (where I address these images with url syntax: {concat('${OA_MEDIA}','/',//LOGO_AZIENDA)})...?
    Thanks for the help

The only way I can see this working is now convert 'before' files as Tim States above and then wrap them in a conditional statement that determines which should be displayed.

  • Convert image to grayscale in alpha?

I would like to convert a bitmap to an alpha image grayscale, where a white pixel is a pixel with 100% alpha, a black pixel becomes 0%, gray is 50%, etc.. I tried to do this several ways in Photoshop, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

    Thank you very much.

By clicking on the thumbnail of the mask works for paint, filters, etc.. But for the collage, the mask must be both the target and visible or Photoshop creates a new layer.

Using your plan screen example, if you decide to click on the thumbnail of the mask the screen will change in white with a black border. It is the view of the current mask. Now when you paste the mask (and view) will change the image. Choose click on the thumbnail of the mask to return to the normal display that will be the image being masked by luminosity.

  • C4480: Printing labels color leads to double image, levels of grayscale print normally

I have a C4480 which generally prints normally.

However, when I print a pdf file that I created for some labels, it prints a miniature double image on all labels on the left side (except the top one). The pdf file is displayed correctly on the screen and I got another print the PDF on a different printer and it works beautifully.

I tried changing various settings and the only thing that gets him to print normally is by selecting the grayscale option.
But I need the labels in color.

Below I have downloaded images of what happens.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

As you can see there is a mini image superimposed on all but one on the left side.
If I change the grayscale setting, then it prints normally, as shown in the photo below, but I can't print in color without headband mini image on the left side.
I have the latest driver installed and am using true color 75XL ink cartridges HP and 74XL black.
This would cause a wrong color printhead? Its the only thing I can find at the moment, except maybe a few problem of buffer memory in the printer itself, I have tried everything I can think.

Well after weeks trying to fix this issue myself and 2 days looking for an answer here...

    Problem solved.

  • How to convert images to Grayscale black and white

I don't have a scanner.  When I need to analyze something, I place under a piece of glass and shoot with my digital camera, then transfer the file jpg on my PC.  My "scans" interpreted that way many pages of text n & B, so the jpg that results is enough grayscle; because I do not use an official copystand there are a good amount of shadow in the image.  It is quite easy to desaturate these images so there is no color in them, but there are still a lot of tweaking if I want to remove the shadows and the end upward with an image strictly B & W.  It seems to me that there should be a filter that allows me to set a threshold such that everything above the level is rendered in form of black (or white), and everything else is rendered as white (or black).  If so, what is it?  Thank you.

    Am_I_Lame? wrote:

each pixel beyond a certain level in an image desatruated in white and the rest black

Image > adjust > threshold for this. But I am pretty sure that is not what you want, the result will be crap.

I would use levels to set the white and black points and then curves to increase the contrast. You can do both with curves, but endpoints are not as easy to spot there.

  • Easy way to change the color of an image in levels of grayscale or bitmap?

Well, I tried this search here and on the web in general, and all I can find are of the ridiculously long workarounds. It seems to be the only thing that was incredibly simple to Quark and yet is almost impossible to do in InDesign.

Well, I hope I'm wrong on this issue.

So, is there an easy way to do this? Import an image into grayscale, click a shade and apply it to the image, inheriting the percentage of the gray-scale values? Or even a bitmap, with none of the percentages to inheret?

Thanks in advacnce, people. Fingers crossed!

Select the image with the direct Selection (white arrow) tool and select the shade. Or... just drag the shade on the chart.

  • Corrupted in exported image exif data

I see what looks like to corrupted EXIF data in exported images such as reported by exiftool.  The problem occurs when you export an image edited from a Q Leica DNG file.  ExifTool reports "warning: possibly incorrect maker [minor] note offsets (fix by 1196?)" followed by the four following fields "

The name of the file: ~.

    Original directory:

    Index of the file: 3982

    Film Mode                       : ?..?.?.?.".|?

    Levels of WB RGB: 3605.922052 0.951899398 1.068280702

The Film contains unprintable characters.   The original DNG EXIF data reported by exiftool is

    File name: L1000034. DNG

    Original directory: 100LEICA

    Index of files: 34

    Movie mode:

    Levels of WB RGB: 0.4780578898 1 0.674571805

JPEG exported from Lightroom 6.2.1.   Same problem with 6.1.something.  No problem noticed edited CR2 or RAF files export.

Anyone else noticing something similar?   You wonder if it's specific to the Leica Q files.

From what I can tell, these are the owners for this camera metadata fields. You see errors on these fields with the files from your other devices is because these cameras create these fields in their files. And it really seems to be just this model of camera, I checked with other Leica cameras and still couldn't see these fields that appear. It seems that it is fair field that Lightroom is not familiar with and that he does not know how to work with them (he essentially leaves them empty, with the exception of some fill characters when text is required). Like Exiftool reports, it's a just a warning and not an error. In addition, this caution is minor.

Here's what Exiftool himself has to say about this kind of situation: ExifTool FAQ.

What I understand reading FAQ, these fields is essentially the shortcuts that point to other information in the file. The error indicates that these shortcuts (reclining) do not point to the correct location (MakerNotes), or something of the sort. You can force a repair by adding the f (case-sensitive) tag to the Exiftool commands.

Apart the Exiftool warning, do you experience any interruption of your workflow? Other applications fail to work with these files, or you encounter errors?

  • [CS4] Grayscale overprint mode

    Hello world.

I have a level of grayscale PSD, placed in an INDD. When I do an overview of separations, so switch to overlay mode and watch one all channels combined, it seems much lighter, to the point of 100% black-like 80% at best. However, if I select only the separation of black, the image seems his normal self. Selecting one of the other channels shows no other inks in the image. What is going on?

    Leo

It shows the difference between the range of values (white to full color) and what it will look like in print.

The range of values is from 0 (white) to 100% (full color, displayed as 'really really black'). It does the same thing for yellow, cyan and magenta. It's a reminder to "fully covered by this ink.

The separation combined, on the other hand, has do 100% black a little lighter on screen that true black screen, because it is perfectly possible to add several inks in the mixture, make black darker than with just the use of black ink. ID tries to show that, as well. You can see the difference if you draw a rectangle colored on top of your image and the value as the overprint.

When in doubt, move your cursor over the separation preview image. ID will be accurately indicate the percentage of each ink under the cursor.

  • Issue of MAJOR brush Image in RGB mode with AI Update (with video)

    bug.jpg

Illustrator PRODUCT BUG / PROBLEM: Image in the new version of illustrator brushes show a strange discoloration and pixelation unsightly around the edges that have any transparency, but ONLY in the space of RGB, CMYK color space color has not this problem. This moved NOT in 2015 from CC. I could create a brush image with transparency on the edges, and it would be PERFECT if I was using a color space RGB or CMYK.

Below I'll detail the major problem that I discovered with brushes of image in RGB color mode in the most recent update of Adobe Illustrator. After having tested methodical, I created a video with my findings. I also wrote it below the video more in depth as well.

PRODUCT BUG / PROBLEM: Image in the new version of illustrator brushes show a strange discoloration and pixelation unsightly around the edges that have any transparency, but ONLY in the space of RGB, CMYK color space color has not this problem. This moved NOT in 2015 from CC. I could create a brush image with transparency on the edges, and it would be PERFECT if I was using a color space RGB or CMYK.

I create digital assets for a living and am a bestseller on creative market (https://creativemarket.com/dailydesignables ) and am VERY methodical about products, I create, so I did thorough testing to ensure that it is not a question that I have just. It's a universal issue with illustrator CC 2015 update. A few months ago I published a set of brushes for IA CC image and sold many of them, and I've tested for months before release. I discovered this problem when I was going to use in the new version of illustrator and to my surprise, the edges of the brushes where there was some transparency had terrible distortion of colors and pixelation.

It wasn't a problem on the previous version of illustrator and I tested it on my two machines, I have a customer who bought my image brushes email me with the same problem. I created NEW brushes in my video demo above to show it is also not a problem with the implementation brushes from a previous version. I created brushes sweet image in CC2015 and CC2015.3 to show the problem is with the new update, and ONLY in the RGB color space. Because the image brushes worked perfectly in the latest version, I know it's possible. There is a problem with the RGB color space in the new version's efforts useless brushes image with transparency on the edges. I work in RGB, so it's a big deal.

In addition, there is nothing to do with the performance of the GPU, I tried that already, turn it off, restart illustrator. Same results. At first I thought it was a rendering / perhaps CPU / memory problem which will make arrangements with a reboot, but it isn't. It is constant in my machines and my clients. In addition, if you paste the image (with transparency issues) brush in a photoshop doc, be it as a smart object or a raster object, discoloration and the pixelation also comes, is not only a problem of rendering of AI.

I was supposed to get a call from Anu on case #0187946265 last week and never did. I got an email to say Adobe, they closed the case because they have marked as "resolved". I tweeted Adobe Illustrator and Adobe supported the problem, so I hope that someone in the bugs team will see this STAT! Thank you very much in advance!

    Jessica

    Hello world!

Just an update that Engineering was able to reproduce the problem and are working on a fix. Although there is a workaround solution, working in CMYK mode (and then switching to RGB later) should work until the fix is released.

Thank you all for your patience and hard work.
