Model: P7-1414: add more memory

Hello

Currently, my office is running with 2 x 4 = 8 GB ram (memory in the slot 1 and 3).  I want to add more in the location 2 and 4 to 16 GB.  Is this serious for 4 GB in slot 1 and 8 GB to 3?  or should the 2 x 8 in slot 1 and 3 and 4 GB in slot 2 and 4 GB in 4?

Please let me know.

Thank you

Hello

To qualify for the dual channel, please install same features same RAM on the same locations of color. (blue goes with the blue wire and...).

Kind regards.

    Hello

I intend to add more memory to a server R910 esxi 4.1 production in a cluster. I intend to do following steps:

    DRS manual change

VMotion all the vm off the host

Put the host in maintenance mode

    Host of the judgment

    Add memory

    Start the host

    Check if additional memory

    DRS auto change

We did the test memory on the server when it was put in the cluster.

Is it necessary to do a memory test again, while adding additional memory?

Nope.  You don't need to get out of DRS, just perform a manual migration of VM (put it in maintenance mode).  Now he died in maintenance mode. Then when you add memory and start it... This isn't on the cluster, giving you the chance to test the memory... (to see if it's visible).  At the start of the BIOS memory test just...

When you see that the memory is fine, then you can exit maintenance mode...

    Hello

Unfortunately, 8Gb is the maximum ram (IE 2 x 4 GB modules) which can be installed in the machine - I have used the same model exactly myself.

This can also be confirmed on the following link.

  • How can I add more memory card video graphics integrated on Satellite L30

I want to allocate more memory to my chart.

    How can I do this?

    I use Vista Home OS.

    Thank you very much.

It will be interesting to know what model of laptop you have.
Either you have a defined memory or with shared memory graphics card.
The shared memory card also uses RAM for video operations.

You can upgrade RAM to the maximum level and then your graphics card can use more RAM for clean operations.

  • Add more memory to my iMac will accelerate it?

It runs very slowly - has only 4 GB of memory installed.

It seems relatively easy and inexpensive to install more memory, but how do you know if lack of memory causes the slowness?

When I go about this Mac, there is tons of storage space. I guess that the Intel Core 2 Duo processor is pretty run down...

    Hi Karena13,

SHORT ANSWER: Yes, it will probably accelerate.

Storage and memory (RAM live) are two different things. Let's say your computer is a library. Storage is the box with all the books on the shelves, while your RAM is the table that you are using.

If you take more than 95% percent of your storage space, it's as if you stored books on the floor between the shelves: you will get work more slowly.

If you have a smaller table, you will also lose efficiency, because you will not be able to everything you need to put on the table.

Both are important, but they are different.

You can check your use of memory (RAM) using the activity monitor (you can find it in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder). Use the monitor activity on your Mac - Apple Support

  • Add more memory

I am currently using a Pavilion DV6000. Currently, it has 512 MB of memory and have considered really upgrade to more memory because its quite slow to load things. After you open Itunes and use the internet at the same time are quite difficult for her as well. Upgrade to 2 GB of memory will be a great help? My hardrive is also very complete. A full hard drive slowing down the computer as well right?

Ok thank you. So, just to make sure I get the memory, here's my laptops card:

  • Add more memory for hp nc4200 - stupid question

I know it's probably a stupid question, but I'm trying to insert more memory into my old laptop for my son. The vehicle currently has 1 GB of memory that I see when I take off the lid, but there apparently also 512 MB that I can't see. I thought of taking the 512 MB and replace it with a stick of 1 GB giving my son of 2GB, but I'm sitting here, after removing the cover and although I can see where is the 1 GB, I see no sign of the 512. Are the memory sticks in two places, not one, and if it's a how to insert the 1 GB when there is not enough space?

DDR II SDRAM, 400 or 533 MHz, two locations SODIMM, 256/512/1024 MB expandable to 2048 MB maximum

Here is a link to the welcome and maintenance guide.

It is an internal memory and an external memory module. Replace the external module is quite simple. Access to the internal memory card requires a dismantling. See page 6-28 in the manual.

  • Add more memory RAM

How to add memory to the PC all-in-one HP 100 b?

I bought this as a bundle to the Tiger Direct site. The memory module that was included was a Kingston KVR1222D3S9 / 4G... I see no way to get into the unit without any disassemble... Hummm

    Thanks in advance

    John Allen

I had the same beam.  Yes, you don't have to disassemble.  It's really like a laptop big.

Remove the 5 screws around the outer edge (at the back of the computer).  Then look at the bottom edge of the computer.  There are about half a dozen slots, who ran a flat screwdriver will fit in.  From one side, insert a screwdriver in each unit and the twist.  You may think that you're going to break, but each lock will jump.  You probably tooth / warp the plastic at the point of the slots, but you'd see only that when you look at the bottom of the computer, so no real problem.  Pop all the locks, and it opens like a clam shell.  Looking at the back of the computer, you will see a large metal plate.  Near the upper left corner is a small (2 "x 3" or more ") Panel with one screw holding it in.  Remove the screws and the memory.  At this point, it's pretty simple.

You will see 6 GB of memory installed but only 2.5 available.

To use all 6 Gig...  The machine is supplied with Windows 7 Professional 32 bit.  You can do what I did, call HP, ask them to send you the disk for Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and they will ship one to you, free of charge.  Recharge it with the 64-bit version, and you should be able to use all the memory.

Memory installed last night, called HP tonight.  You can do the online chat.  It took almost 2 hours to spend on their phone support.  Surprisingly, the guy I talked to seemed knowledgeable enough and very reasonable.

    Good luck!

  • Can I add more memory?

    Hello cindyann,.

    NetBook Acer D-1606, I guess that's a Aspire One D270 (AOD270).

In this case, your laptop have only one memory slot and the maximum is 2 GB.

You can change the memory stick 1 GB with a 2 GB.

You will find the memory part number with these search tools:

I can put the hard drive in a new gateway Pent IV w 4 memory locations and can take 4 gig of memory has a bad hard drive and will be given to me. my hard drive of 320 GB of my Pent III bridge works without problem has XP installed Prof. I don't want to not have a licensed copy on the hard drive that works.

Yes and no.  Yes, your hard drive of 320 GB should work just fine in the newer computer.  However, if you think to move the HD from your old computer, directly on the new computer, as it is with the operating system and all programs and data intact, the answer is no.

You will need to reformat the HD and reinstalling the system operating and all drivers appropriate for the new components of the system.  In addition, if Windows XP Professional you currently have is OEM version of a computer manufacturer, then you will not be able to move from the old computer P3 to the newer P4 computer.

  • Initial size (MB) and maximum (MB) size should I use to add more RAM to my memory?

I followed the instructions on a video on how to add more RAM to your computer without taking it apart.

I followed all the steps up until I came to the part in the dialog 'virtual memory '.  Where it says, 'custom size' you have to put the ' initial size (MB) and the ' size maximum (MB).  How do I know what size to put in this area?

I looked up my information on my computer:

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

    Memory: 1.00 GB

    System type: 32-bit

Now, while I was following instructions to add more RAM.

    my computer displays this information:

in the performance option dialog box:

In the tab advanced under virtual memory, it is said:

"page for all readers file size: MB."

In the virtual memory dialog box:

    for the C: drive:

There's the initial size (MB) - white

and (MB) maximum size - White

What should I do in this case?  What would be the initial size and maximum size?

    Hello Palette,

You talk about 'virtual' non-physical memory. There is a difference.

UPN based on the amount of RAM 'physical' you have in your machine the ' virtual RAM should be of approximately 1.5 hour of Aries. You have currently 1 GB of physical RAM Windows allocates already 1.5 GB RAM virtual and, frankly, it is better to let Windows manage the virtual memory file.

If you want to improve then install the physical RAM more. Your guide to computer manufacturers will tell you to what maximum physical RAM, you can install and what type it is. I admit that I have changed the physical RAM to many times so know what I'm doing, but, frankly, it's less of a hassle to change the physical RAM which play with virtual RAM.

RAM memory modules simply slide in and are cut in place. Change the RAM in a desktop computer is easier than a cell phone, but you will get much better results increase the physical RAM that you would changing virtual RAM.

Of course, this is assuming that you need in the first place of the increased RAM. I recently increased my physical RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB and hardly noticed any difference.

  • Direct model need more memory than other local communication protocols?

Hi, for Timesten databases on the same server and applications we use direct model for performance bese.
But I want to know what size of JVM segment are set for my java application when you activate the direct model?
My application must head more memory when direct model than any other communication local protocols, such as the CPI or Unix domain socket?
Assuming that my Timesten database takes 12 GB memory in OS, this means that I have to specify the same size for JVM heap(-Xmx12G)?
I hope that there are documents or links to this topic.

    Thanks and greetings

    SuoNayi

The TimesTen database is always in a separate shared memory segment, regardless of how connect you. In client/server mode, there is a separate server process that accesses the shared memory on behalf of the application in direct mode, the shared memory segment is mapped into the process's address space. The total amount of memory used is the same in both cases (actually a little less in the case of direct mode as you do nto need the process of weaning). Since the if allocated memory as a shared memory segment and not by the heap of Java you don't need to increase the size of the Java heap to use direct mode.
