    Photo Collage Toolkit

    Scripts for Photoshop is powerful and I think that this package demonstrates this a video showing a collage of 5 model PSD image fills with images:

    The package includes four simple rules to follow to make Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.

    1. Models of photo collage for the desired print size - width and height of the size and DPI print resolution.
    2. Photo collage templates must have a background layer in Photoshop. The content of this layer can be anything.
    3. Photo collage templates must have alpha channels named "Picture 1", "Picture 2"... "Picture n".
    4. Photo collage templates layers above the background layers must provide transparent areas to reveal the images which will be placed below them.

    There are fourteen scripts in this package, they provide the following functions:

    1. HelpPhotoCollageToolkit.jsx - online help
    2. TestCollageTemplate.jsx - used to test a model of Collage of Photo while you're doing it with Photoshop.
    3. CollageTemplateBuilder.jsx - can build models that are compatible with this toolkit scripts.

  • PSD Templates-ThemeForest

    Can I use models Themeforest in Muse and if someone has so all the example sites?

    Eugene

    You can use graphical reference model PSD to rebuild the site of Muse. You can also use the individual item like buttons, backgrounds, images (etc.) in multilayer PSD files.

    When you add a PSD file via cmd + D (ctr + D on Win) or by file > Place in the menu bar, Muse gives you two options:

    1. you can umport the whole PSD comp

    2. you can import only the selected layer

    Note that the layer in a multilayer Photoshop file groups are ignoredwhen place this image in Muse.

    You can use the first option and then set opacity to a low value for a reference of good visula when rebuilding your site. Then use the second option to place individual items you need.

  • Sizing of the images of several resolutions to print on a page of a resolution

    Maybe it's a basic question of Photoshop that betrays my lack of experience with the digital workspace, but I would like to know how to draw multiple images of different resolutions on a 300 ppi page, intended to be printed.

    I have three images: a 300 ppi, 3 x 4 inches, another is 4 x 5 inch, 900 DPI and a third is 4 x 5 inches, 600 dpi.

    I created a single page that is 300 ppi, 8 x 10 inches. My images will be adapted according to the physical size. But when I drop my 600 dpi and ppi 900 images in this page, they explode at twice and three times the space, spoiling my efforts to put them. Similarly, if I cut the ppi on images greater than 300 DPI, they explode as well.

    The only possible option I think that might work is automatic Resample/bicubic. But wouldn't that reduce the quality of the image?

    Thank you!

    An image file is a single file, no matter how many layers and images and sizes of pictures in there is that a single resolution than one resolution that all layers and images have the same resolution, the current resolution set in the document or the file setting.

    You can process the image file and save the files that have different resolution and different image of an open image size.  You would set something like that using the Image Processor Pro Script Photoshop plug-in that is available free on the Web.

    A printed page can have multiple images of different sizes to this topic but all images on the page have the same pixel resolution. They're just a different number of pixels. Larger images are more pixels then small images on the page.

    It's easy to make a layout.  Do your layout and size of your images for your page layout.

  • Print page layout and printing with photo shop

    Hi, I'm looking for advice as to weather or not the photo shop can do what I need? I'll try to find a print page set up where I can choose an image and resize it to lets say 50 cm x 50 cm, that measure 75cm of white space, blank media and a logo. Reason being that I try to print cushion covers where I need image on the front and logo on the back. but I need to be able to measure the space inbetween ect and measure the whole layout, so I can't print. cut. then stitch it. Can someone tell me or help me, if they think that this is possible. Only, I'm new to photoshop so any help is very appreciated.

    Sounds like a good candidate for a Collage and some automation model. Your Logo would be and top layer which is on top of the location of the image. As a shield of fireman in the demo video.

  • EP 14 - menus DVD look at grain-y and poor quality even if the content of actual film seems well

    First Elements 14 - FILM and DVD MENU BURNING

    QUESTION #1: HELP!   I spent days and days trying to figure out why the DVD menus look so grain-y and poor quality even if the content of actual film seems well. I upgraded from 12 to 14 items first thinking that would improve the quality, but no luck.  I made my film with many segments video, titles, etc., fading in and out of the extra audio tracks. It all works very well.

    Then, when I select the Menu move and there the process... and the result... is simply unacceptable. I chose the "Pan and Zoom" model, even if I wanted to use my own background for the main Menu and the following menus images, because it was the only model with 6 thumbnails per page. I downloaded many sizes of different files and resolutions of my background images, thinking that this one would work.  I even found the original "Pan and Zoom". Model PSD files on my hard drive and checked the length of number of pixel and width, more inches in length and width, more DPI.

    Each of my own images (including one I formatted the exact size of the model "Pan and Zoom") looks a lot like pixelated, when I preview the movie... or actually make a DVD in first of 12 elements.  In the first 14 elements, burn a DVD does not even operate.  The disc resulting is not playable on any of my computers or DVD players.  It comes to my QUESTION #2.

    Is it possible to download a few screenshots to help you see what my poor quality menus looks like compared to the high quality film?

    I don't know what is happening with your DVD writer. It could be material, may be a driver, could be another program maintaining Premiere Elements to it. (Nero is famous for this).

    But if your DVD is burning as a file on your hard drive, then the program has done what it can. And you can easily use a free software called ImgBurn to burn DVD files to a disc. (As I noted in my books, this is the way I and a number of other publishers prefer to work for a number of reasons.)

    The program creates a VIDEO_TS folder on your D drive or if she has created an ISO file?

  • How to "save under" a document by using scripts

    I want to use scripts to automate the creation of badges of identity. I have a model PSD of the badge that includes a slot for the photo and a text field for the name. The approach that I took in my script is simple:
    1. Invites the user to select the source for the pictures folder.

    2. for each folder in the folder, follow these steps:
    -resize the photo

    -Copy the background of the photo layer

    -close the document and the focus back on the PSD template

    -Place the copied picture as a new layer

    -It translates into a certain position if it fits in the slot of the picture of the model

    -change the text in the text layer for the name of the photo, we have placed (which is the real name of the person)

    3. save the photo in jpg with some given save options in a certain folder of output.

    Step 1 and 2 only when needed. However, when I save the badge, I get a really strange error saying:2QrAQ3T.png

    Here is all of the code (JS):

    var sourceFolder = Folder.selectDialog ("Selecteaza folderul cu pozele: ");  //prompt the user to select the source folder
    var files = new Array();
    files = sourceFolder.getFiles ();  //put the files from the folder inside an array
        var startRulerUnits = app.preferences.rulerUnits;  //save the initial units used
        var startTypeUnits = app.preferences.typeUnits;

        app.preferences.rulerUnits = Units.PIXELS;  //change the units to pixels so the translate command will work as expected
        app.preferences.typeUnits = TypeUnits.PIXELS;
    var mainDoc = app.documents.getByName ("Ecuson.psd"); //this is the name badge template
    var so = new JPEGSaveOptions(); //the save options i'll use with the save command
    so.embedColorProfile = true;
    so.formatOptions = FormatOptions.STANDARDBASELINE;
    so.matte = MatteType.WHITE;
    so.quality = 10;
    for(var i = 0; i<files.length; ++i){ //loop thru each photo in the folder
        var img = app.open(files[i]); //open the image
        var saveFile = new File("C:/Users/Eugen/Desktop/salvate/" + String.valueOf(i+1)); //this is the file where I'll save the jpg file
        var nume = img.name.replace(".jpg", ''); //this is the name of the image I just opened. I remove the jpg extension so only the name is left
        app.preferences.rulerUnits = startRulerUnits; //I change the units back t their original value as for this phase I need to use CM
        app.preferences.typeUnits = startTypeUnits;
        img.resizeImage (3, 4, 300); //resize the image to 3x4 cm at 300 dpi
        app.preferences.rulerUnits = Units.PIXELS; //change the units to pixels again
        app.preferences.typeUnits = TypeUnits.PIXELS;
        img.backgroundLayer.copy(); //copy the background (and only) layer of the image
        img.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES); //close the document without saving changes
        app.activeDocument = mainDoc; //focus back on the badge template
        var pLayer = mainDoc.paste(); //paste the layer I just copied into the template
        pLayer.translate (-314, 33); //place the new layer where I need it to be
        mainDoc.layers.getByName("Name").textItem.contents = nume; //change the name on the badge to the name of the original file
        mainDoc.saveAs (saveFile, so, true, Extension.LOWERCASE); //this is ehere I have issues...
        }
        app.preferences.rulerUnits = startRulerUnits; //change back to centimeters
        app.preferences.typeUnits = startTypeUnits;

    I guess that it may be a problem with the agument saveFile, I can save the jpg manually from photoshop.

    PS: using CS6

    Thank you!

    I think you're line 17 it is. I'm not sure what you're doing with: String.valueOf (i + 1). You're simply trying to name as these files through a number? If this is the case, simply put: i + 1. You also use the incorrect syntax for your way. You do not have the jpg extension. The line should read:

    var saveFile = new File("/c/Users/Eugen/Desktop/salvate/" + (i+1) + ".jpg");

  • How to design and develop?

    How to design and develop?

    I know that it depends on many things such as knowledge, preference, purpose, resources, etc... but I'm curious how different developers (level of expertise) actually prefer or implement their Web sites. I decided to make this post after two rounds of various forums about 1. Templates and PHP, and 2. Development of the back-end.

    1. How do you generally approach a project?-wired, Freehand (because it is), model PSD, etc. - think - you have a specific 'methodology' or procedure?

    2. What are the 2-3 of your main resources / sites / apps etc you are using (and what for?)

    More precisely: what you use (and how) to get a Web site? (I know once again that depends on a variety of things, but in general..) * also if you want to comment on your expertise or maybe useful level.

    Would you rather (benefits / drawbacks of :)) What advice would you give to the topic below?

    • Built your own Script HTML/CSS/base site you have mostly (if not completely). (More control and original, but more difficult / tedious for beginners)

    • HTML Temlplate (change the HTML and CSS code) - type of not setting (quick and easy, but generally poor quality, obsolete?)- but some may servde as a good starting point.

    • WordPress (and others such as Drupal, Joomla) (pretty quick and easy access to wring a quality WP Theme with possibility for a large number of features - search, databases, forms, etc. (otherwise could have trouble with features without good knowledge og PHP and MYSQL, maybe others?) - but the kind of "bypass" real HTML design?)

    • Types of frames such as Foundation, Bootstrap, skeleton

    • A combination or hybrid methods? - or any other method, I forgot?

    Thank you very much for any idea that you can offer, hopeully, this will lead to a lively discussion. -.

    Not quite.   Don't forget there are client-side and server-side apps applications.

    AJAX is client, which means that the browser does all the heavy lifting.  If the end user has JavaScript disabled, nothing happens.

    PHP MySql & are server-side.  It doesn't matter what browser settings has the end user.  The bulk of the work is done by the web server.

    XML is NOT a database on the server side.  It is just a file text used by the browser.  Useful for storage of light data, but certainly not to a large scale CMS or blog for example.

    Apache is an application web server that is commonly found on Linux servers.  It has nothing to do with AJAX.

  • Paste text to the title screen

    I use within PPro CS5 titles.

    I have a text box to the top with three lines of text in safe markers onscreen.

    However, if I paste some text into the text box, sometimes a few words are cut in half if they do not fit on a single line.

    It wraps correctly the text on the next line, but he's not even cut the word that cuts it in two.

    I compose cope in English, but I'm trying subcaptions Portuguese on a program - if sometimes he cut a long Word Portuguese half and glue the half on the next line.

    I'll be able to type Portuguese fluently before the end of this, but for now, she is full of danger!

    Is there a setting I missed to stop this?

    Unfortunately, Titler Agency does not seem an option of hyphenation. Even using Photoshop to design the text, then copy and paste into the module titration does not keep the break; hyphenation and wrap it in different places.

    Possible workaround: do your submarines in Photoshop. You can even use a database to automatically generate the submarines, so essentially you design a 'model' PSD, point to the database file and press go; You'll find yourself with PSDs named/numbered sequentially with the good formatting/hyphenation. I guess it depends how much time in the process, you are already.

    Another solution: get an intern

    BTW, a feature request would be probably good: Adobe feature request/Bug Report Form

  • Aligning text animators in a nested model (any PSD) music in the main computer?

    I imported the PSD file as a model and made changes to the text animation, but it's now a model nested, and the music is in the main computer. How can I change the schedule of the model, nested with the visibility of the music track?

    You can anchor timeline panel separately from the other and viewers of lock to get some understanding that you want:
