Monitor does not immediately turn on

My monitor used to work properly and then, after going to sleep when not to use the computer for a given period, he (the monitor) would not go back. Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del has worked for a short while then I had to turn on the monitor and turn it back on, then I had to wait several minutes before I could turn it back on, then I completely removed the duration of sleep, preventing the monitor go off leaving on until I is no longer needed on the computer or at the end of the day. After this point, start-up, the monitor would not come and I had to wait 2-3 minutes, turn off the monitor and turn it back and he would come. Then I had to wait 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then an hour. The last time that I turned it on (and I left it on since) I've been waiting 12 hours.   Once the monitor is turned on, it works fine. So I don't think it's a fault with the monitor. So what - the?

Help would be appreciated.

Your monitor may deteriorate gradually. The easiest method to check if you have a problem of monitor is to swap monitors. Alternatively, you can try to move your current monitor to another computer to see if the screen lights up immediately. Isolate the problem.

  • HP monitor does not display "DVi signal.

My HP LP2275w monitor does not display "DVI signal" when connected with a DVI cable (supplied), but when it is connected via a VGA cable and adapter DVI/VGA (both supplied) it works but no BIOS screen. It begins immediately with the logo of the VICTORY.

I just bought new HP Pavilion 500-158eg, Intel Core i5-4440, with AMD Radeon HD8570, 2GB processor, running on WIN7 Pro 64 b. VGA and another port of the motherboard are initially blocked so I can connect the monitor only via the output HDMI or DVI on the graphics card.

I should note that on my old machine without a name with the graphic upgrade ATI Radeon, there is no problem and I used the same cable. There was an electric shock that causes the collapse of the motherboard so I can't even re - check on the old machine. I can't verify if there is a problem with the DVI cable because all laptops in our housing have only the VGA output...

    • Edit: Just realized that my main monitor is a monitor "Westinghouse". -Who is a "Plug-in-and-play" monitor, there are no drivers.

I ran the most recent update for final last night, then fell asleep. Everything worked before that date, but when I went to turn on my computer this morning, only my HP [my second monitor.] w17e worked. I don't remember having a problem with the tools of Perf and Rel in Vista and performance monitor seems to work in Win7?

    Hi dw_witless,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers!

I suspect that data collection is not enabled. To follow the steps below to enable it:
1 activate the data collection for reliability monitor
Reliability Monitor uses data provided by the RACAgent scheduled task. Reliability Monitor will begin showing an indication of stability, and event information specific 24 hours after installation of the system.
The RACAgent scheduled task runs by default once the operating system is installed. If it is disabled, it must be enabled manually in the software component for Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in Task Scheduler.
Membership in the local Administrators group or equivalent is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
To enable the RACAgent scheduled task
    1. Click Start, click in the search box, type taskschd.msc, and then press ENTER.
    2. in the navigation pane, expand Task Scheduler Library, expand Microsoft, expand Windows, and click RAC.
3 right-click RAC, click view, and click Show hidden tasks.
    4. click on RACAgent in the results pane.
    noteNote
The RACAgent task name is maybe not completely visible. If you don't find it, expand the name column in the results pane.
    5. in the Action menu, click Activate.

If the steps above does not
    2 reset the reliability monitor:
    1. turn off your Windows 7 problem report history.
NOTE: You need to do step 6 at this link above to delete all the problems.
    2. If the Reliablity monitor is open, close it.
    3. open the Folder Options and select (dot) the hidden files and folders option, and click OK.
    4. open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\RAC.
    5. to save the history of reliability data-
WARNING: This is an optional step, you will not be able to restore these data if you do not back up this data and it will be gone for good. If you want to ignore this, go to step 6 instead.
    (A) copy the PublishedData and the StateData files and paste them to another backup location.
    6 open the folder PublishedData.
    7. Select all files in the folder and click on delete.
    8. click on Yes to approve it.
    9 open the StateData.
    10. Select all files in the folder and click on Delete
    11. click on Yes to approve it.
    12. If prompted by UAC, then you will need to click Yes to each UAC prompt for each file in the folder StateData approve deleting each file one by one.
    13. close Windows Explorer.
    14 emptying the trash.
15 open the Options folder and select (dot) the do not show hidden files and folders option and then click OK.
16 open the Reliablity monitor to see it reset now own.
NOTE: If Reliablity monitor is already open, close and reopen.

  • HP Envy laptop monitor does not light

Just bought this HP Envy with Windows 8 just over a month ago.

Today, after the installation of an HP recommended that Windows Update the monitor does not light.  The power led is on the internet led is activated and the CAP turns on if you press.  Still no monitor.

Bought it at best buy and it's a drive of 1 1/2 at this store if I have to take it to Geek Squad

If you have windows 8.1 on it then it looks like the update of kb2903939 killed. I fight with this problem since Christmas.

Power cycle the cell several times without leaving start completely. It should bring up a screen of recovery. If you can find the path to start safe mode, you can uninstall kb2903939 and then restart. That fixed my problem.

Otherwise, it should be a call to HP or Microsoft support.

  • Outlook Express 6.0 when I send an email, it seems that it does not completely turn off but it does and everytime I open OE, it turns off again and again and again, etc. Any ideas? Thank you

I send an email, it does not completely turn off. A message that says that the task had not been completed, but no error message appears. The email goes off, and whenever I open OE it turns off again and again and again, etc. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

You have the apparent corruption of dbx files, but an easy solution.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
    http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in custom Mode and uncheck analysis when the option is the result of e-mail messages.

    Compact often as specified above.

    And backup often.
