Outlook Express 6.0 when I send an email, it seems that it does not completely turn off but it does and everytime I open OE, it turns off again and again and again, etc. Any ideas? Thank you
I send an email, it does not completely turn off. A message that says that the task had not been completed, but no error message appears. The email goes off, and whenever I open OE it turns off again and again and again, etc. Any suggestions?
Thank you
You have the apparent corruption of dbx files, but an easy solution.
Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them. New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.
After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.
Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.
General precautions for Outlook Express:
Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

I received an email from a friend containing photos or bears, I tried to pass it. The text was sent however, and pictures have been left out. How I sent pictures in forwarded e-mail messages? I am running Firefox 38.0.5 and Thunderbird 31.7.0.
Thank you.
It is a common problem in Thunderbird. I think that the original message uses links to fetch messages from an online resource, so they are dynamically read when you view the message.
Sometimes the only solution seems to be to download the images (right click, save as) and then add them to the message transferred (by hand).
In some cases, save the message in local folders in Thunderbird is enough to force the remote images to download.

Using Outlook 2007
When I send an email, I noticed that the InfoBar at the bottom of the screen indicates that 3 emails are sent.
It says "send message 3 3' when I just sent an e-mail."
Does anyone know why this is?
What are the emails of 2 Ghost (is this a virus)?
How can I get Outlook to show me exactly what is sent (instead of just looking at the sent box)?

Hi Matthew,
You view the image in one of your libraries? If so could you please open the menu under your avatar and choose the license history. From there, click on the image ID for your image and download it here. I recently posted a bug about what you described above. If these instructions do not work for you please answer and let me know.

I have Outlook Express 6. When I want to fix anything, the attachment box appears in a small... with only 6-8 files/folders showing both. How to adjust the size of the box? There is no minimize mazimize click or angle to slide. It used to be adjustable, but no more. Help?
Like when you open a new message window and either click the button attach or insert | Attachment? I don't ever remember being resizable or a very large box. Change the display of list will give you a bit more, but that's all.

When I send an email, it appears in my own Inbox and not the sent folder. Even if the box is checked, staging elements to move to the folder sent sent. Any thoughts?
Go to file | Identities and establish a new identity. Then add your e-mail account. When this works, then use a file | Import messages to import from the old identity.
If you do not OE, then after return e-mail you what program use.

Outlook express 6 crashes when compaction
Outlook express 6 crashes when the compaction. I tried 3 times
Your best bet would be at this point to go to the file. Identities and setup a new identity. This will give you a base of messages remained totally fresh. Once it is installed, and then use file | Import | Messages and import them from the old identity. Its a good idea to backup the message store also, as seems to be somewhat corrupt. See also point 3 here (www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) that corruption could be due to interference from other programs.Stevewrote in message News: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *... I need Windows 8 to a class. I have 7. Can I buy and download 8 online? Thank you.
Hello
Support for windows 8 is finished.
Extended support for Windows 8.1 going until 2023.
But Microsoft sells more than 8 or 8.1.
Try Amazon.com, etc.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Do the following before upgrade you to Windows 8.1.
Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.
If this is not available, Windows 8.1 not install and work properly for you.
There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:
Download and run the Windows Upgrade Assistant 8.1 of to see if your machine is compatible Windows 8.1 and read the update for Windows 8.1: FAQ here
"Update to Windows 8.1: FAQ".
