Monitor flash off & on

SR1650NX unit with ViewSonic monitor.  Monitor flashes on every 4 seconds. Tried all the obvious things. Restart, unplug the monitor, power supply to turn & cut monitor.

Suspect power supply. Any ideas.

Thank you.

Apparently, the power within your Viewsonic monitor is in short-circuit.  Contact Viewsonic support for a replacement of the screen.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 M 8: the monitor shuts off and cannot back up to Vista

    Hello

I have the Satellite A200 - 1 M 8 with original Vista. Sometimes, I have some problems with the display (I have the latest drivers).
The monitor turns off (not as usual but it is gray instead of black) applications flow normally (I hear the music of film, this) but I can't get back into windows.

When I push button hibernation and I try to go back to windows, I see the blue screen then the computer resets.

It happens very often and is really frustrating because my internet disconnects and downloads.

I don't think that the temperature is too high because I think it's cool. How to fix this?
Maybe some graphics settings or new BIOS?

Please help me. I can't stand it!

    Hello

Your laptop is preinstalled with recovery delivered image, or if you have installed your own operating system?

  • Monitor suddenly off past - Satellite M70

    Hello

I bought an M70 Satellite a few days. While suddenly using System Monitor turns off like Eve, but system is still active because I can hear the sounds, etc, when I press keys on the keyboard. It does not come even if I move the mouse or press the keys etc. I only managed to get the display by sending the system in standby mode and reopen. It seems that the monitor remains powered but black. I had the same problem when you use ubuntu linux on system so I don't think it's a driver problem. Also I tried to update the bios, but I already have the current version. I'd appreciate any idea about it.

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say what the problem may be, but first check all (monitor power off) power management settings and other things that can cause switching off monitor.

If your camera has the factory settings it should not happen. Try to change the settings in the management of the power supply for standby and hibernation. Test extensively and if you think there may be some problem please contact your local dealer.

    Hi FrankMaffie,

    ·         Have to remind you to make changes on the computer before the show?

You must have accidentally hit Ctrl + Alt + left/right/down/arrow up and the screen swivels.

To make this work "shortcut keys" option should be enabled, otherwise it wouldn't work. Here's how you can enable or disable the "keys" on Windows XP.

    a. right click somewhere on the desktop and choose "graphics properties."

    (b) a window opens. There, you can press "Hot Keys" and enable or disable this option by checking or unchecking the checkbox.

  • monitor turns off for no apparent reason

No matter what I do the monitor turns off

    Hello

    · What is the number and model of the monitor?

    · Have you defined a plan of the power on the computer?

I suggest you to check the physical connection when the monitor turns off.

In addition, update the drivers installed on the computer. You can check the link how to manage devices in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283658

  • Monitor turns off "-automatic detection of the analog inputs.

While I'm working I suddenly black screen and stays going this way. If I press the power button on the monitor power off, then on, I see a message auto detect (analog input). Sometimes, he goes and I can continue to work. Other times I have to go through which power action several times until it goes away and I can continue to work. How to fix this? Thank you.

This means that the monitor cannot synchronize the signal it receives from the computer. Either the signal is too low or too high for the monitor to use. Check the resolution as the frequency.

  • Windows 7 double monitors - turn off a monitor causes Office to reorganize resulting in substantial losses of productivity.

I have 2 monitors connected to a card nVidia FX 580 running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. A monitor is linked via DVI and the other through DP (Display Port).

If I turn off the monitor of the RFP, I hear the windows sound indicating the material has been "deleted." When I turn on the monitor, I hear the sound of new hardware, windows re - detects the monitor as if I just installed it and my layout any icon on the desktop and all the windows, I had open are then all rearranged and takes a long time, re-organization to come back to where I was.

I leave my PC on 24 hours a day for several reasons - and for years have always just had my monitors turned off when you are not using it.

I need to be able to turn off my monitors without windows deciding that I "removed" a monitor.

I work for a software company of medical imaging, where we provide the complete hardware and software solutions for use in radiology departments in hospitals. These systems are usually 3 or 4 connected monitors, all via DP these days. Due to the possibility of the desktop users get messed up, if they happen to turn off a monitor, we can not install systems with Windows 7.

While many may see this as nothing more then a disadvantage, it is a show-stopper as what we concerned. Yet as I have not found a viable solution to this problem.

So here's the question: how to disable this new behavior in Windows 7 and allow him to understand that the monitor has not gone away and that the Office should not be changed simply because the monitor is off?

    Thank you.

I wrote a small utility to fix this problem. It is still very thrown together, but Open source, so you can compile sources if you have security problems.

I hope it works for you!

  • monitors flash when you move the cursor

I have three monitors for use in FSX.  Normally, all my programs, for example, Gmail, visits, casino games, etc. to display on the monitor Center.  I use Chrome browser with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 b.  For some reason, when I scroll upwards or downwards, or sometimes just move the arrow cursor, my left and right monitors flash with a background of 'ghosts' appearing intermittently.  Ghost poster background on strength wallpaper.  I used CCleaner, Glary Utilities, MalwareBytes.  I also used the disc of Windows 7, cleaning, optimization and defragmentation of the features.  The flashing is always present.  Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this problem?

  • Monitor flashes ON / OFF when u3.0 Dynadock is connected using Win8

    Hello

I installed the Dynadock U3.0 with the latest drivers on my laptop N56.

Everything seems to work fine (connected hard drive, ethernet connected, connected... mouse) until I have plug my external monitor cable into the Dynadock.

When I do that, my laptop screen flashes very quickly. The external monitor does not react.

    I use Windows 8

    Any help is appreciated

There is a new driver for graphics card for Windows 8
    http://www.DisplayLink.com/support/downloads.php

Dynadock supports an own GPU, so you have to install the driver that is compatible with the system.

  • My image of the PC monitor flashes once then stays black at startup.

NO IMAGE on the screen at the start except for a MILLISECOND FLASH then BLACK SCREEN.

    AUDIO works OK.

When I turn the monitor off and then after a few seconds, the back, I have MS FLASH then BLACK SCREEN.

When I turn the monitor off and then after TEN MINUTES, return, I get MS FLASH then BLACK SCREEN.

When I RESTART (reset) the Tower, I get the same result as the line.

I've done two attempts, the last attempt after a wait of 20 minutes, and the result was successful.

Windows has asked for me to choose a Setup to continue... I chose NORMAL and now everything looks OK.

This happens everytime I turn on, I have to go through the same procedure each time.

I am also convinced that it is not good for the health of my pc.

    Please can someone... Thank you

    Hi George,.

It seems that the monitor has failed.

Another aspect of the screen that does not fairly regularly is the inverter.

As he begins to come out, the monitor does not work during any part of the start-up.

He may be able to gather enough power to turn on the monitor if, as in this case, it is left on a certain period of time.

You can try this monitor on another computer, if this option is available, to see if it exhibits the same behavior.

If so, it is reasonable to assume that this is a failure.

  • Firefox worked fine but now when it 'opens' briefly flashes off my normal screen and I can't maximize or minimize. I tried to uninstall, etc.

I tried everything and nothing has worked. I love FireFox and Internet Explorer - hate it please help!

    Couple thoughts:

    (1) Firefox always seems to have a window active 'somewhere' based on having a tile on the Windows 7 taskbar?

If so, how have you tried maximise?

If you think that Firefox is running but is off the screen, check out this post to get a window usually positioned: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/941896#answer-381295

    (2) your home page using any Flash media?

If so, try disabling the plugin Flash Player of protected mode. See this article from Adobe support under the heading of 'Last resort': Adobe Forums: how to fix protected Flash Player for Firefox mode?

If you want to test a neutral page first of all, make sure that all Firefox Windows are closed, then launch Firefox from the start search box menu with:

    firefox.exe "about:blank"

If this works, it's something on your home page.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Unfortunately, I think that there is not much you can do about it.
Just in General, I imagine there is a connection problem, but it must be the subject of an investigation.
Try contacting the closest service provider of Toshiba, to explain the situation and ask for help.

I try to put the connector again still.

Toshiba Satellite A100 (model PSAA8) chipset Intel

    Hey mate,

If you have the same problem on an external monitor I think that it s related to the motherboard or something else. He should t be a problem of the internal screen I think

It's really hard to say something about it, but you can try to update the display driver and BIOS. The two you can find on the Toshiba site.
    Check it!

In addition, it would be interesting to know what operating system you are using. Operating system preinstalled Toshiba?
