motherboard expansion slots

I am considering adding a RS 232 port for my desktop Pavilion p6 - 2007 c. What I don't know, is what type of expansion slot on the motherboard. PCI or PCIe? Thank you

You have 3 PCIEx1 slots available for the installation of a RS232 serial card alias, like this

    Hello

No, you can't do anything for the games because of the CPU:

The processor socket: not applicable, because the CPU is soldered to the motherboard

    and to the GPU:

Separate graphics cards are not supported on this motherboard

Moreover, the niche is already occupied by:

OK, sorry raising model in Kingston and a few other sites did not show your computer and see that I had not seen everything I was confused. Based on what I found maybe a model from other countries.

That said, it seems that it comes with 2 gigabytes of Ram DDR3L and evolutionary 8Gig

Also, it seems that yours comes with 1 PCI Express Slot x 16. I'm not sure with the power supply and that is there if you would be able to switch to a different graphics card GPU and size of the case would impose a huge limit on what might be able to adapt...

I have my eye on this machine for a music station.

I need to put a card audio latency. I also need a Firewire is missing on this computer. (!)

It does appear that a single empty PCI slot. There is a TV tuner that I don't want.

    1. can I replace a sound card for the TV tuner?

    2. where can I replace a USB card with one that has Firewire too - keeping functionality to the front of the Tower?

    Welcome Tips

The mother of p6598uk HP should look like this motherboard.

You should have three PCI-E x 1 expansion slots that can be used for the installation of additional cards (audio firewire, etc.).

Most PCI-E x 16 slot is used for video cards.

    Yes both of your questions.

This card would work.  Check with the manufacturer to ensure that the drivers work with your operating system.

And sound cards are also here.

Okay, Yes, it's that that I was referring to...

There are some tips that could connect to this location, I see no ATM, but they were no system plug controller and some would be. Some would not, so I think they've done away with them... One with a controller like that of my photo here... Can be used for the SDS and also an extra HDD apart from him as well. They have others who are just of the SSD, and some that have 2 spaces for SSD on the map but may not work for your space, as they are cards longer. There are also some that offers SSD, SATA and ESata outside at the back... It's all about what you want and how much you want to spend.

There are two PCI slots and one PCIe x 1 location. There is no eSATA ports on the backplane I/O. There is a firewire at the rear I/O port backplane. Use the PCIe - x 1 slot you must give up the TV Tuner that is installed.

Newegg one PCIe x 1 to USB 3.0 cards available. PCIe 1 x eSATA2 cards are also available at NewEgg.

USB 3.0 is the best option of the two standards out especially those who use a PCIe - x 1 slot. The two PCI slots are available on your moytherboard, but have little bandwidth and the speed of light.

    Best regards

  • Mini dv to g series laptop - no port firewire or expansion slot - HELP!

I have a Canon Vixia - who, when we bought it, the SD cards that do not have sufficient capacity were expensive, so we used mini dv.  now, five years later, I need to get this published stuff and put on dvd before the band begins to degrade.

I have a laptop HP G42t - 400 CTO.  My Canon requires a Firewire - my laptop port has neither slot Port or Firewire expansion.  I did a lot of research on this topic and there are many opinions contradictory on what I need to do or even I can't do it, period.  I don't want to invest in something that does not work.

Here's what I understand which seems the most sensible - I need firewire to my Canon to something - a port or hub of some sort - that allows to convert my video into something that is then passed through the hub to my computer via USB.  I'm not a techie.  I need to a clear-cut, easy to understand, "buy this, which buy." kind of answer or a "it's impossible."  I prefer to do it myself because I have years of images to manage.  I would have kept up with her over the years - which was my mistake.  in any case, is it possible?  I have been informed that a firewire to usb will work and then I was also told by many people that it will not.  I am at a loss - please help!

Hello Lib_B.  I understand that you need to get data out of your camcorder, but it requires a FireWire port that is missing from your laptop.  Is this correct?

I'm sure that USB and FireWire managing data a little differently.  So, I don't know if this will be a 100% smooth process.  However, based on the discussion on this page , it seems to be possible.

It is a single issue so it is difficult for me to recommend a specific product.  There are several, however.  This seems to be the kind of product you need.  It allows you to connect two FireWire and USB to a single hub that seems to connect to a computer via FireWire or USB.  Here is a list of the products available.  Give him a look and see if any of the hubs seem to better conform to your needs.

I hope this information was helpful Lib_B.  Have a great week!
