Mouse Sonar: Registry key? Specify the location of the pointer when I press the CTRL key

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
(But this feature existed for several years, at least as old as XP).

In Control Panel mouse pointer Options tab, there is a checkbox option:

[b] "see the location of the pointer when I press the CTRL key". [/ b]

When this field is selected, pressing the CTRL key causes concentric circles around the mouse pointer, to help you find it quickly. HE often called mouse Sonar.

I want to activate this option, but my mouse control panel does not have a pointer Options tab. I installed a mouse of third-party providers of hardware, software and drivers, and they hid the pointer Options tab. If I knew that the registry key for this option, I can activate it via regedit.

Someone knows the active registry key or disables this option?

This option is stored under this registry key:

HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\UserPreferencesMask
However, it is coded to store several variables, and this direct modification is very far from a supported scenario.  You can try to install the Microsoft IntelliPoint software instead.

I tested what you gave me there Rob. On my Mac, I have two monitors:

-Blacken / display slide show on a monitor (the primary monitor, if I move LR in my secondary follow-up, the slide show is still on the first, but the second still works normal with LR just sitting there).

-If I turn off slide durration I manually advance the slides with the right arrow.

-I don't have 'Lightroom' (or with my settings current all) text on the screen.

    -Does not repeat itself.

My Windows machine is not two monitors, but the others work properly...

In other words, until I thought about it differently. As we seek to change the slideshow settings, I was naturally in the slideshow module. But I then remembered that the interest of the Impromtu Slideshow is that you can view the slide show playback from any module. Once I went back to the library and click Command / Ctrl + Enter, then I saw exactly what you're talking about. Both monitors are blackened, duration of the slide is ignored, etc.

You know why? As the Impromptu slideshow uses one of the models outside the slideshow Module. Which one? Well, by default +, of course. How do change you that? Right-click (Cmde) slideshow model you prefer to use and select «Use for Impromptu slide show»

  • On reboot, the system using old registry keys

When I restart my system, it uses some old registry settings. The desktop resolution, background and the old file locations are adjusted to the same settings, regardless of what I put it at the stop. for example, if I change the resolution of 1600 X 1200 or 800 X 600 or any other parameter, the next time I reboot, it is up to 1280 X 1024 (my material is sufficient for resolutions). Even on the files. If I copy / paste a file in a different directory, at the next startup, the file already exists in the old directory as well. But I am able to add new files to any folder.

I suspect that some malware changed some registry keys. Please tell me if my guess is correct and solution, as appropriate.

    Thank you.

  • Cannot write to the registry key for Acrobat XI - Error 1406

    Hi all

I have a problem regarding the installation of Adobe Acrobat XI 11.0.07 on a laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

In short, I cannot complete the installation of Adobe Acrobat XI on this machine because Acrobat is not able to write the value to the registry key that is located here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-> SOFTWARE-> Microsoft-> Internet Explorer-> toolbar.

I tried to find solutions on the internet and found a Web page on the Adobe Forums, which is this: Error 1406.Could not write the value Adobe ARM - and it was not very useful, since the person requesting to solved his problem, but did not say how he did. So, I found this page using Acrobat, called Error 1402. Error 1406. Acrobat, Reader where I tried different solutions, but so far none of them have worked. What I did to remove all previous versions of Adobe Acrobat, Reader, Air and so on. In fact, I deleted all Adobe software, in which case one of these programs were to blame, but it did not work. Before that I have deleted all this software, I deleted Acrobat and Reader several times, but you have probably already found, it did not work. As it did not work, I tried the following solution using Acrobat, which was to 'Set permissions to their default values in the registry'. I followed the solution completely and does what he says, but it did not work. As a note, I must say that the type of registry key with that I have a problem called 'Locked', is a REG_DWORD type and the data value is (0). That this has something to do with it? I'm not too familiar with editing the registry. However, I tried to change the value of (1) and updating the registry, but it did not work...

More information: However if I install the full version of Adobe Acrobat XI or the default installation, the same error pops up: Error 1406. I scan my system with my antivirus Bullguard software, to see if there is no virus. There are not. Also, I closed my antivirus software and turned off the firewall of Bullguard, but this was not successful either, I did a scan of my system using cmd as administrator (sfc/scannow) and the program found a few mistakes, he could not fix. As far as I can see, he finds three files .dll with errors. I have the document called sfcdetails.txt if it would be very useful for you.

In addition, I don't know what to do. I paid for Adobe Acrobat on 23 January 2015 and I failed to make it work properly again, and I can't update the software, because I have a problem with the registry. I am able to use the software for that I had to use it to so far, but I would like to be able to use it for what it represents and update in order to avoid any lapse in security.

Thank you. I hope that you have some ideas for my problem and will be able to help me!

    Best regards

    Mads

    Hello Rahul,

I found a way around the problem I described in the post. What I did to reinstall Adobe Acrobat XI and do not install the PDFMaker for Internet Explorer, and this solved the problem! And since I do not use Internet Explorer for PDF do, it's good for me, and now I am able to update to Acrobat. But for people who would like to use Internet Explorer for making PDF, it is of couse is not suitable... But for me it is. I still don't know how to solve this problem. It might have something to do with the fact that Adobe Acrobat XI is not able to support Internet Explorer 11, but this was written by a user on the Adobe forums, so I don't know if it's reliable. The "help Acrobat / compatible browsers and applications of PDFMaker Guide" immediately said that he made, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's a compatibility issue?

in any case, thanks for the answer you gave - but I found myself

    Best regards

  • VMware View - Virtual Office registry key based offline IP address of the client?

    Hi VMware Experts-

I try on VMware View 5, but I'm stumped. Our basic used by the personnel application is accessible via Citrix ICA. I want to start the Citrix ICA application inside the view. This application is one that rent us the 3rd party (several States away) and the method used to connect to it is not editable. The application launches successfully, but a problem.

When we launch the Citrix ICA connection a registry key is read from the local computer (in my test, it is the virtual office). It is a key, we added that contains the IP address of the machine. The IP address of the key is used by the application accessed through Citrix ICA to assign the user to a number of specific printers.

My question is: after user authentication, how can I have the Desktop read view IP local of the customer who connects, then put this IP address as the registry key in the virtual office? This should happen during each connection, because users are not in the same job every day. I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bits for virtual offices.

    Thank you!

The customer who connects IP are located under the key of HKU\Volatile environment.    You can use this to fill in everything you need.

It does when the modules are disabled.
No problem on Safari or Chrome.

I think it all started when I went form a MacBook with Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro with Lion.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

You use the mouse wheel to scroll?

There are some prefs mousewheel, which control the behavior when you press the modifier keys.

You can set the key to the action of each to 0 for normal scroll.

  • Portege R700 - registry key for the FN + F8 key combination

    Hello

Pressing Fn + F8 to toggle wireless on a R700 - what values of registry keys made this change? Is anyone able to tell me the path of the registry for the wireless feature on of the Portege R700?

    See you soon

    :)

    Hey Buddy,

The exact registry key knows only Toshiba. I can tell you that the FN keys are controlled by value added and Flash Cards Support utility package.

These two tools can be downloaded from the official website of Toshiba for the FN keys you need an additional tool and it s not just a simple registry key.

    Problems with FN keys combinations?

  • What is the right way to specify the location of the shared library in an a .lvlib function call library function node?

I'll have a bit of a problem with how to specify the location of library shared in a call library function node it is a VI that is part of a library of LV. Here's a little background which may help.

I do a lot of measures using spectrometers photo from several manufacturers.  Someone in my company developed a C DLL library, which provides a simple API for all the different spectrometers. To facilitate this DLL to use in LabVIEW, I wrote a .lvlib that wraps all the functions.  When I want to use the API, I simply include the .lvlib file in my project that allows me to drag and drop the wrapper s VI on my block diagram. When I created the .lvlib of VI, I specified the path in the call library node. /. * so it will always look in the local application to the DLL directory when I run.

The problem is, when I load demand, LabVIEW you asks for the location of the DLL even if it's just there in the local directory! I tried to put copies of the DLL in the directory with the .lvlib, but he still refuses to find the DLL loading.  What I am doing wrong?

You should in this simple case enter the full path to the DLL by navigating to it. If the DLL is on the same volume/drive that the VI containing the call library node LabVIEW will be internally store the relative path from the VI to the DLL (but still show the absolute path). If you move the DLL and screw together (so the relative location of the DLL to the VI remains the same) LabVIEW will always find the DLL.

I don't think that the lvlib would add nothing to that.

Y at - it a registry key to check if the current user can install a windows updates? also, what registry key that is used to verify whether a user is an administrator or not. Thank you...

There is no need to check the registry keys to see if you can install updates or not.

You just need to be connected to an administrator account to install the Windows updates.

You can check if you are in an administrator account by trying taks simple administrattor. For example. Try to change the time system.

If you can change the time, you are an administrator; no other.
