Move the pictures to a folder

I have windows 7 for a week only now after Vista to agonizing months. I was really happy with XP but I had to buy a new computer with Vista. After having so many problems, I upgraded to 7. My wife and I take lots of photos and click and drag was really great for us. I spent a few hours on 7 tent to organize the photos in the order I want, and that he had unsuccessfully... Please bring back the, click and drag. If I could find a way to put XP on this new computer, I would.

In a folder of windows files are sorted by names (by default).

You can use a workaround - rename the image with a prefix 1_, 2_ etc files.

Or use a program from the album (like picasa) to organize your image of the requested way Gallery

Similar thing TI also occurs when you are working on other programs on the mac, but not nearly as much.

Guessing here, but try to disable drag between pages on the tab more than movements in the system preferences > mouse. or a Trackpad. Depending on whether you are using.

  • Can you please tell me how I arrange and move the images in a folder like in XP, when I drag and drop a picture, it comes down to its original position

Organize and rearrange the images in a folder named as in XP. You could organize by date, size, etc. and do drag and drop all in a folder, it is not possible in Windows 7

    Hi Halohodge,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

You can't manually rearrange files/images by dragging them in the folder in Windows 7. This change is design in Windows 7.

If you have concerns or comments with respect to the question or any other Microsoft application, please see the links below and send the same:

If you are referring to the reorganize by date, size, etc. then you can always do than simply right click and selecting the option of sort by in the drop-down list when it appears in the photo or file folder.

  • Firefox 6 need to move the cache (files temporary folder) to a specific file

Hello I need to know how to move the temporary file for firefox folder 6. I managed to do it easily for IE as it can be done from the settings tabs for firefox but, I need to access the topic: config so I understand. However after that I implemented browser.cache.disk;D:\Temporary Internet Files and browser.cache.offline;D:\Temporary Internet Files, nothing seems to happen like firefox still uses the original place

Pref is correct browser.cache.disk.parent_directory - does not exist by default, the user needs to create.

  • I can not move the files to a folder in windows XP, only to copy them, and I get the windows error. This happens on any file or folder.

I use XP Pro SP 3 and I'm having a problem with moving the files from one folder to another, no matter where the folder or files. If I try to move a file, it crashes and it cannot be opened or used. If I move a folder, then crashes all the contents of the folder, and I can't even open the folder, it tells me access is denied, this nothing else. If I try to delete the file, then I get a prompt to error telling me that the file or folder is not accessible, and that access is denied and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If I try to move the files corrupt in another folder, this time I get the message "Unable to move or replace" the file in question and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If it is a document as a text file, then I can open the file and there is a prompt indicating that access is denied. I can then use the text document and save something, but if I close the document and then try to reopen it, all the changes are lost.
It is not this problem if I move the files to an external device or disk drive.
I am running as an administrator.
Right now, if I need to move a file, I copy it to its destination, which is possible and then delete the original file. With the help of a release program was the only way I could delete these files, which could no longer be used.

    Hello Closrapexa, welcome.

    1. do you have this problem started recently?

I recommend trying the system restore to bring the system back to a State before the problem started. Try this:
    1. click on START
    2. click on "all programs".
    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."
    5. click on "system restore."
6 follow the prompts shown to restore your system to a date before the problem started. Although the system restore does not target the personal data, it is recommended that you back up all data such as music, photos and documents in case something is not bad.
    Let us know what happens
    Thank you!

    ======================================
You can renumber the pictures in a batch.

Lets say, you have two folders with numbered files
Photo .jpg (10001) photo (10025) .jpg and want to
merge records without the files are overwritten.

In a folders... go to... Edition / select all... with all the
Photos selected (highlighted)... right click the first file
and from the menu choose... Rename...

The name of the first file... Enter press and Photo (10026) .jpg...
Come in.  The remaining files will be renamed by Windows.

  • Move the image to one folder to another - E10

I would like to move an image from one folder to another folder and I can't figure out how to do this.  Is this possible?  Does anyone know how?

    Thank you

    Vince

It is not as intuitive Vince but you must drag up to navigation in folders, then release.

I hope explains it to the captain.

I have only one level of folders deep, but if you have folders in the folders, pretty sure that you can drag it above the folder that you want it to be, i.e. moving the image up a level.

  • Move the pictures to a disk folder

Hi, is it possible (and especially a good idea) to change the location of the folder my pictures on a disc?  I get free space on a drive with my account of MS Office and backup all my files via the cloud.  Photos etc. However is not in this return upward even if they are stored on an external hard drive.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

    Proibably not

So far, nobody has used successfully any cloud service - for an iPhoto or photo library backup and you certainly can't use it as your library main apartment

Photo library must be on a local drive connected via a fast wired connection and must be in Mac OS extended (journaled) format and backup must be on the same format

Now, this isn't a good idea

    =============================
I do not think that the 'Read only' attribute of your
file is the problem... in fact, it is typical.
All files on my XP Pro system have a
Square marker (not checked) to playback
    Only the check box.

If you want to experiment the following article...
explains how to change the read-only attribute.

(326549) you cannot view or change the
    Read-only or system attributes

Now for the photos... lets make an experience.

Open your folder my pictures and create a new folder...
File / new / folder... (more on this shortly)

Insert your SD card into your Media Player. Do not forget
to slightly press the card at the bottom of the slot.

If the Autorun screen opens, close it.

Reach... My computer or on the removable click
Disk that corresponds to the location of your card is in.

    In the menu... Choose... Explore.

You should be able to see the directory of the card.

Open the folders and find pictures.

Reach... Edition / select all... then... Edition / copy.

Right click on the new folder that you created in my
Images, text and the menu... Choose... Dough.

Transfer files or you still receive the error?

The problem is that the photos are sorted by time where each person to download from the album, no time where the photos have been made. Is it possible to sort all the time?

I have lightroom five on my macbook pro. My files are on an external drive. I can put photos, that I can't do is move files in different folders.
