Movement of the VM files new device

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but a search seems to be working for me.

I want to move my VM on an external drive on my system.  Don't know if this is possible, or what I need to do to get there.

I had to temporarily copy the directory on a drive, and after that, I think it's probably better for me to use the machine from that drive.

How would I go on this subject... If possible?

Thank you!

Your message is confusing because during your pose the question "How do I go to this subject... If possible?", you made the statement, "I had to temporarily copy the directory on a drive, and after that, I think it's probably better for me to use the machine of this disc." which leads us to believe that you have already copied the Machines ~/Documents/Virtual on the external drive folder.

Anyway the answer to your question is... The same way you copy or move all the other files, folders. boots or packages, you would drag or copy and paste it in the Finder.

Note that this should be done with the judgment of the Virtual Machine, not suspended, inside, the operating system guest and VMware Fusion closed.  Copied or moved just double-click on the target of the Virtual Machine Package of Document and that he will begin when filling a new entry in the Virtual Machine library for its new location.  Also say "I moved it" when you are prompted because that will keep the same MAC address of the network card and minimize risk of tripping WPA on Machines virtual Windows.  You can then delete (ctrl-right click) the other entry in the Virtual Machine to the Virtual Machine originally library it location, if applicable/necessary if you moved it vs just copy it.

    RE: iTunes and WMP - MusicBridge

    Found this on the web. I can't vouch for it. Use it at your own risk.

    Excerpt:
    iTunes is not compatible with Windows Media Player. iTunes is - like Apple-very protective of any product and does not like to share. So, you have to force off iTunes and WMP.

    To do this, you can use this sloppy program: MusicBridge.
    The description of its creator:
    MusicBridge allows people who use both iTunes and WMP on the same machine to keep their libraries in sync. MusicBridge offers a variety of synchronization options so that you can manage your collection of music in the media player, or both. MusicBridge duplicates of meta-data between Windows Media Player and iTunes, it does not copy the physical files between applications.

    Version 2.0.1 is a bug fixing release.

    Best thing: it's free.

    convert the songs in your iTunes library to a format that Windows Media Player can understand

    You can convert the songs in your iTunes library to a format of Windows Media Player can understand - (I tend to use mp3). This can be done inside of iTunes itself. If the songs in your iTunes library were purchased in the iStore and were purchased in the plus version (indicated by a small sign above the price of a song +), then they are DRM free, so they can be converted easily. However, if the songs were not purchased in the format more, you can convert them for 30 cents each. I highly recommend that you do as the plus version of songs are premium quality - and since they are DRM free, you can use them in almost all applications and you can burn them to CD and play almost anywhere. All the songs on the iTunes store are now version more, so you don't have to worry about searching for them in the future.
    To convert songs to Windows Media Player can understand, open iTunes, and then do the following:
    1. click Edit, preferences, and go to the general tab
    2. click on the button "import settings".
    3. change the "import using" at "MP3 encoder".
    4. click OK and go back to your music library
    5. choose the list view and select the first piece of your library
    6. scroll all the way to the last song in your library
    7. press the button SHIFT key, then click the last song to select all the songs in your library
    8. click on "Advanced" and then "Create MP3 Version."
    9. your songs should start to convert and according to how many songs do you have in your library, this could take some time
    10. open Windows Media Player and press F3 or click file, add it to the library

    11. click on OK - Windows Media Player should start to search for songs on your computer and after that he finished the search, you should find the songs in your library in your Windows Media Player to iTunes library.

    NOTE: This method will not work unless you have purchased iTunes songs or if you have converted the songs iTunes more for each 30 c

  • Player version listed in the GUI does not match that of the executable file (new)

    I've posted about this before (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4817948), but has never been able to find an answer.

    I am currently deployment of Adobe Reader versions 10.1.5 using the MSI installer and group policy. The problem is that a user stops his midway to Windows 7 computer while installation MSI interrupt (i.e. screwing) installation process. I had to remove some entries from the registry and restart the PC of the user in order to restart the installation of the reader (something I've done in the past).

    To verify that the drive has been installed successfully, I navigate to the Reader (AcroRd32.exe) executable Program Files, double-click the executable, select on Adobe on the Help menu, check the version number in the info box and see that the version number is 10.1.4 (i.e. the old version that I'm upgrading to). However, when I travel to the Reader (AcroRd32.exe) executable in Program Files and and open the properties of the file, I see the version 10.1.5 (i.e. the new version I am upgrading to).

    So the Player version listed in the GUI does not match that specified in the executable box.

    It's the second time that this has happened with a Windows 7 PC. I've never known this kind of thing with a PC running Windows XP.

    Why is the different version number in the GUI? Where the version number read to leave for the GUI? The registry? Anyone can shed some light on this situation?

    Hi Grittyminder,

    Remove some reg entries is not going to give you clean uninstall if you pouvez get a viable product. You can run this to get a better result: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html.

    While I don't know what the problem is, it would be interesting to check the version of the product using the MSI API as described in the guide of the administrator to the www.adobe.com/go/acrobatetk.

  • 'Forward' to move to the next audio file button does not work with audio books.

    Hi all

    My first problem I can't understand mine. I did a search through old messages using several key words and couldn't find it.

    -Sansa Fuze worm-1...

    -New firmware dated 12/27/09

    Mode - MSC

    I buy the audio book CD and then extract them to MP3 so I can listen to on the "rocket". I put all the MP3 of the book in a directory, use Mp3tag to put in place a track number, title, author, and such then I drag the folder to the folder "audiobook" on the "rocket".

    I start to play the first file, and most things work very well. The documents in the file and I cannot FF or REW in this file. When this file is complete, the "rocket" ahead to the next file of its own. Bookmarking works fine. When I try to use the 'next' button to move to the next file, however, nothing happens. If I try to use the 'back' button to go to the previous file, nothing happens. Very strange.

    The button works fine when I'm listening to MP3 music. I can jump forward or backward through the tracks normally. It is the same with podcasts.

    I don't normally jump before the audio book titles, but sometimes I'll do it if I lose interest in the book and hope to find something more interesting on a next track.

    Thanks in advance for any help with this one.

    See you soon.

    Generic audio books works a little bit differently from the Audible.  New audio book functionality, allowing any type of playable, always has the option of cool chapter mode, but it functiond otherwise than by playing an Audible book.

    Sound files have chapter breaks that can be selected in the part of the main work.  "Regular" audio books have just chapter-titles.  Try to select the chapter mode; It affects to jump between tracks.

  • script storage vmotion which move the config files too?

    Hello

    I have a VMWare admin for a long time but I am very new to the PowerCLI and script. I could find, modify and use scripts that do a simple storage vmotion: all disks go to a data store - but also one that can move independently - disk hard drive 1 to the data store X, hard disk 2 to the data store Y. However, I can't figure out how to recover the configuration files as well. I just got the book "VMWare vSphere PowerCLI reference", which confirmed my fears that you can't call these configuration files (and Exchange files, etc.) as a single parameter as you can hard drives. You use the SDK, that I have even fewer know that the CLI of power!

    I keep my BONES (disc 1) files and configuration files in 'BONES' labeled data warehouses, so whenever I move a Hard Disk 1, I want to keep the configuration files, swap files, newspapers etc. with the OS disk file and move them to another "OS" datastore. No matter who else set up like this and already is figuring out how to automate this type of move? I know that I can move the entire VM to a data store, then move the hard drives 2 and above, but it's a waste of time and I have no OS LUN that are too big.

    Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

    Thanks for buying the book, I hope that you may find useful.

    Yes, you are right, there is no single cmdlet that lets you move only the configuration files.

    You can do this with the RelocateVM_Task method in the SDK however.

    Such a script, in its simplest form, will look something like this.

    $vm = Get-VM MyVM
    $configDS =Get-Datastore -Name "MyDS1" $hdDS = Get-Datastore -Name "MyDS2"

    $spec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineRelocateSpec $spec.Datastore = $configDS.Extensiondata.MoRef
    Get-HardDisk -VM $vm | %{
        $hdSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineRelocateSpecDiskLocator    $hdSpec.Datastore = $hdDs.ExtensionData.MoRef
        $hdSpec.diskId = $_.Extensiondata.Key
        $spec.Disk += $hdSpec}
    $vm.ExtensionData.RelocateVM($spec,"defaultPriority")

    You specify the destination of the files "config" in the line of $configDS.

    Hard disks will be migrated to the data store that the script gets in $hdDS.

    If you want to only move the configuration files, you specify the same data store to which they are already for hard disks.

    $vm = Get-VM MyVM
    $configDS =Get-Datastore -Name "MyDS3" $hdDS = Get-Datastore -Name "MyDS2"...

  • Actions: Take the list of files in the text file

    I have a list of big, autogenerated files scanned with path full (which is dispersed throughout my home directory), I forgot to do OCR. I would use my standard OCR action to deal with all these.

    Is there a way to have Acrobat Pro XI use this list directly in an action, i.e. without adding each file or directory manually in the dialog files-add action?

    I thought to use the command line, but can't find a command to invoke a command line action as well.

    My most awkward workaround would be: don't forget the current locations, move all the relevant files to a temporary directory, treat this directory, move them, which is not too nice.

    It is the 10th of Windows.

    Thanks, Frank

    You cannot use a list of files as input for Action.

    However, if what is the Action can be achieved by using a script you can use a script to read this file and treat the files defined in this document, one after the other.

    If you use an Action then your suggestion to copy these files to a temporary folder and then process this file is probably the best. It would even be possible to use a script and save the files in their appropriate location, directly from the Action. But you must delete this temp folder yourself after executing it. He cannot do it for you.

  • Published .htm does not open the SWF file with the exception of the published folder

    Using Captivate 2: my stand-alone files work fine for all users, no matter where I place them on the network, but I just published as SWF with export HTM and the HTM opens only the skin and SWF files if I open it in the folder where it was published. If I copy the files (all three) to another location, the HTM opens empty. I do not see a path when I discover the HTM in Notepad, so I can't understand why the browser window is empty. Anyone have any ideas? I have attached the .htm code (I think).

    I should have waited a little more forward: the standard.js file must move with the other files, as it is called in the .htm. If I had published in a clean folder I would have saw that immediately. Sorry...

  • check the existnace file before using the HOST command

    Dear all:

    We use the version of forms 6i 6.0.8.22.1

    I wrote after encoding to move a local system file to another location: following coding works to move the file.

    DECLARE

    in_file_name VARCHAR2 (100);
    in_file_path VARCHAR2 (100);
    out_file_path VARCHAR2 (100);
    the_command VARCHAR2 (2000);
    BEGIN
    in_file_name: = pk_parameter.setting('IMGSFILE');
    in_file_path: = pk_parameter.setting('IMGSPATH');
    out_file_path: = pk_parameter.setting('IMGTPATH');

    the_command: = 'move' | in_file_path | in_file_name |
    ' '|| out_file_path | out_file_name;

    Synchronize;
    Host (the_command, NO_SCREEN);
    IF this is Form_Success THEN
    Message ('error - file is not moved');
    ON THE OTHER
    Message ("file moved successfully");
    END IF;
    END;

    above code returns TRUE in stand conditions if the file is exist in the given folder or not? I checked it twice.

    1: place the file in the folder source and then run the coding, it returned message like "file moved successfully.

    2nd: the source folder is empty, when I have executed the coding, it returned message like "file moved successfully.

    Now I want to check before running the command move, if the source files exist in the source folder, if yes, then move on the other on-screen message and raise form_trigger_failure;

    any idea of guru?

    Kind regards

    Hassan Raza

    You must use the command line to do:

    host('cmd /c move '||in_file_path||in_file_name||' '||out_file_path||out_file_name, no_screen);

    to check if the file has been properly moved, you can use text_io:

    declare
      xfile text_io.file_type;
    begin
      xFile := text_io.fopen(out_file_path||out_file_name, 'R');
      text_io.fclose(xFile);
      --file exists
    exception
      when others then
        if text_io.is_open(xFile) then
          text_io.fclose(xFile);
        end if;
        -- file does not exist, so moving was not successful
    end;

    You can download some like this free data recovery software to recover deleted files.

    1 panda Recovery http://www.pandorarecovery.com

    2 recuva http://www.snapfiles.com/get/recuva.html

    3. undelete more http://undelete-plus.com/

    How does it work?

    When you delete a file on the FAT32 or NTFS file system, its content is not erased the disc, but only the reference to the data file in the file Table of Allocation or the master file Table is marked as deleted. This means that you might be able to recover files deleted, or to be visible through the file system again.
