  Update: Windows update itself again today and, like magic, Firefox is again well. So problem solved.

  I am running 64 bit Windows 7 on a Dell laptop with an i7, 6 GB ram and VMWare Workstation 9 processor. Everything works well on the host and the VM, while the virtual machine is powered on but after the suspension of the virtual machine and station work out of the system host becomes very slow and applications become desensitized. This lasts for several minutes after the stoppage of work. In general, I have executed only a VM at a time, but even when I got a couple of them run both the host system and they are very sensitive. I started the task with great difficulty Manager when this occurs to see if I can see problems with the free time of processors and memory use, and everything seems fine. So far all my research turned discussions about this kind of problem during execution of the virtual machine so I am at a loss to know even where to go next to make this diagnosis.

• 2012 MacBook Pro VERY slow after restoring from time machine

  Recently, I upgraded my hard drive on a seagate drive. I went from 500 GB to 1 TB. The installation went well. Later, I followed the steps to set up the hard drive:

  1. start the computer by using the R command

  2. open disk utility

  3. formatting the new hard disk by the computer specifications

  4 closed disk utility

  Then I restored from a time machine to the top. It took about 3 hours I had about 350 GB of data to restore. Since that time, my computer is moving very slowly! For example, the start-up takes at least 15 minutes for loading applications. Between the tabs in Chrome takes about 45 seconds to a minute. Loading a new web page takes about 3 minutes or more. Open an application like Evernote can take 5-8 minutes. Same shutdown takes about 10 minutes.

  In a previous forum, someone suggested to take a look at errors in the console. I have no idea what it means. Can someone help me figure out what this topic?

  I use Acrobat PRO on a workstation (Windows 7 Ultimate - SP1)

  After the update to Acrobat PRO 9.5.2, all pdf files open VERY slowly (30-60 seconds). It does not matter if the file is local to the workstation or on the network. Also, the file size doesn't seem to matter or if it's the first opened file or a later file.

  Besides just opening Adobe Acrobat is all too slow.

  I tried to disable the antivirus software. No impact.

  FIXED – rather than trying to fix the program in its current state. I uninstalled Acrobat PRO then relocated to from the original media, apply the updates back to 9.5.2 and - Oh surprise - everything is nice and fast again.  Other than the 30 minutes or so to uninstall/reinstall, a pretty painless solution.

  My CD/DVD drive (Inspiron E1505) will rip the CD/DVD, but does not play just them when inserted.

  Movies do not work in Media Player, but will open in VLC.

  The two films and audio "plays" but is too jerky/tormented to be seen/heard.

  In addition, it rips and burns VERY slowly...

  On my laptop HP Envy M4-1015dx, I just changed a large image file in Photoshop, probably using a large amount of the work disk. • Thunderbird starts slowly after update

  I've recently updated Thunderbird version 31.4 and since then TB starts very slowly. What happens is that when I click on TB icon in the Quick Launch bar, the borders of tuberculosis appear but nothing else. After about 20 seconds the rest of tuberculosis appears, but until that what is happening I just the four borders around an empty space. Is there something I can do for TB take less than 30 seconds to be in place and working properly?
  Out of curiosity why just the borders appear and put the empty space for 20 seconds?
