Moving files blocks to explore

If I try to move files PDF on my PC, the 'movement' box appears and crashes just on 'calculate '. It is less about 500Ko worth files. This seems just isolated to the PDF files.  Sometimes it will work, but most of the time it won't.

Also, if I go into a folder with PDF files in it, the text at the top of the window of the Explorer bar will remain green for a very long time.

I'm running Win7x64 Pro on a Lenovo T440P, which was bought in December. The hard drive is an Intel SSD. I have the same problem in Mode safe, and I've updated all my drivers.

Help, please!

Hello

Check with Intel's support for firmware update or known issues. Considers that a

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set
SEE drivers to hide Microsoft - update those without drain in their names. (Also
updated the BIOS and drivers from the chipset on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
and device manufacturers are located)
http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
you want.

Windows Explorer crashes XP Home (laptop) system when copying or moving files that gives the error message: explore 0xc000012d.  Text and images suddenly begins to disappear from the screen (go faster if you move the mouse on the screen!), system crashes, gives the blue screen and stops. No time to save data, which is happening so fast.  I lose all data in open programs.  RAM is tested without error, ATI Mobility Radeon X 1300 driver has been updated, system fully updated, but nothing is. Could not find any information on the MS Support or on the web that would help.  Please help - tired system crash all the time!

Go to control panel, double-click user accounts, and then change the way users log on and outside. Should be a checkbox to turn on fast user switching.

  • Unopenable after moving files

When I move the files TIFF image on a server (I work in a Museum of history) a machine remote, often impossible to open these reliable image files.  Photoshop displays the message, "could not complete your request because it isn't the right kind of document.".   Look in Windows Explorer reveals that he has no data for these images in the column "Dimensions".  An attempt to rename the folder in which sometimes generates an "access denied" message (this occurs when the file is not open anywhere else).  No other Viewer or editor will open the file.  This doesn't happen when you move TIFF files from a remote computer on the server.  It also does not occur when you copy and stick a file only when it is cut and pasted or dragged and dropped.  He always seems to be a computer on the network, however, which can open the apparently altered files.  Curiously, it is not the same machine from one day to the other.  Sometimes, I was able to open these files after restarting the machine whose files have been moved to the origin.  I have not seen this happen with other types of image files (for example, JPEG files).  Our network administrator has not yet been able to solve the mystery.  What happens here?

All what you describe sounds like a permissions problem access the file.  The default behavior is that moved files to another volume inherit the access permissions of the folder destination while the files moved within a volume to maintain their permissions.  Which copy (and not animated) files in the same volume, the copied file again will inherit the permissions of the folder to which it is moved to.  This is the default behavior.  It can be changed.  Everything is explained here:

"How permissions are handled when you copy and move files and folders.

Another way to approach this problem is to check the folder that the file in network-transferred to has the access permissions for other users of this computer (as well as the folder that you end by moving to).  For more information on this aspect, try this link:

"How to disable the file sharing simple and how to set permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP"

  • How can I move video files in windows Explorer without losing metadata in windows media player?

I'm under WMP 11 Vista.  I have a folder that contains the files in my video (AVI for example).  I organized videos in WMP by manually changing fields of tag for ratings, artists, genre, etc.  I would like to move some video files around in Explorer Windows (in the same drive that is monitored) to arrange my training and records.  When I do this, WMP loses track of the video file as the path is no longer correct, so I would like to add back to the library to help add to the library.  When I do that, the video appears in its new location, but all the metadata is missing.

Is it possible to move my AVI files to another directory without losing all the metadata, or are never supposed to video files be moved once their metadata has been published in WMP?  Can I enter the new path to the file in WMP or something and have it keep its metadata?  Or is there a way I can get WMP to store metadata on the AVI files as it does with WMVs?

It seems that there is something missing if metadata of media management is a core feature of WMP and be able to move files autour is a core feature of Windows Explorer, yet the two are not easily compatible.

I want to just move my video files without losing the work that I put in the metadata.

Also, what is the reason have advanced tag editor for music files and video files are not?

    Thanks in advance.

    It is not possible.

  • Please help - moved files outside PSE8

I organized my files and renamed things in Vista, my images. I didn't know that it was something that I should not do and I probably lost a lot of photos without knowing.  Problem is that I really need pictures of the last few days. They show on my computer, but PES files are empty.

    I tried the things:

-Drag a file from the Explorer in EPS and he says "the moved folder is already in the requested folder.

-tried 'reconnect all the missing files', but it did not move the photos I wanted. The single 'reconnect missing files' is gray so cannot click on it. In the "all the missing files", I tried navigating to a file. Even when I clicked it, it says that the folder is empty.

-J' tried the view 'import package', but they were not there.

I can't remember where the originals were or what their names of files on my computer.

Think you I can somehow drag each missing image in my computer on a hard drive external and then delete files in EPS when they should have been, and then "Get photos and videos from the search for the records ' bring them external to the PSE?

I saw on another post (DJ) do not use Organizer

I never said that, I do not use the Organizer.

What do you think of this idea:

"I use Picassa and PSE.  I use Picassa instead of the Organizer, because I think it is easier and better for me.  Then from there, I just right-click on a photo and make open with to change the photo in the editor of PES.   Once the installation is done, I save it under a new name, and Picassa is instantly. »
