Moving the tablespace to another location

Hi all

I need to move the files to the tablespace from one place to another location because of the hard drive space.

Example of

Tablespace name: TEST_TS

which contains several dbf files such as

' / opt/oracle/oradata/1.DBF' SIZE 20480 M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1024 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED,.

' / opt/oracle/oradata/2.DBF' SIZE M 30720 AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1024 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED,.

' / opt/oracle/oradata/3.DBF' SIZE M 31744 AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1024 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED,.

' / opt/oracle/oradata/4.DBF' SIZE M 30720 AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1024 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED,.

' / opt/oracle/oradata/5.DBF' SIZE 2048 M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 500 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED

now I need to move files some where else like

' / u01/oracle/oradata/1.DBF' SIZE 20480 M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 1024 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED,.

' / u01/oracle/oradata/5.DBF' SIZE 2048 M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 500 M MAXSIZE UNLIMITED

Kindly help me in this archive.

Thanks and greetings

Saami

You need

1. to disconnect the tablespace

2. copy your data files to the new location

3 Rename in your database

4 put the storage space online

  • Windows Update after moving the 'users' on another disk on Windows 8 (without using the registry)

    Hello guys,.

I would like to ask something. I just got a new desktop PC with a 240 GB SSD and a 1 TB HARD drive, so I had to move the Users folder to the HARD disk. I used the way written here: http://www.nextofwindows.com/how-to-change-user-profile-location-in-windows-8-without-registry-hack/

I wonder now, since there is no registry hack, it is sure to run Windows Update? I tried yesterday, but I found myself with 4 updates, do not install with all the applications Microsoft Windows 8 (those in the new departure) detects not whole Internet. I could not also add all the features for windows in the .net Framework as anything Microsoft partner unable to connect to the Internet.

I did a fresh install, followed the new guide but disabled the update of Windows, but I need some updates to add some options to my systems, just basic Windows updates don't not upgrading to 8.1 Windows, so is safe to make updates, is there something to do to ensure that all updates will install very well or should I just stay away Windows Update?

In which case it is allowed to update, I want to do all work perfectly as I heard the guide I followed could sometimes would do if permission issues records to check and make sure I got all the permissions to so that none of the updates fail? Thanks in advance

    Hello

I would recommend that you not move all of the USERS folder, or even your own...

Which may or may not be the problem with .net 3.5... It's kind of finicky to start, and there are other reasons why he could not install...

But there are things in the folder users who may not be able to be found by things like the update of Windows, programs and etc...

The best thing to do is to simply move your various Documents, photos, etc. and leave the application data and only, etc...

You can make a new My Documents folder on the HARD drive and put the photos, downloads and etc in it and then change the location of your folder...

You don't have to make a new folder in My Documents, but there is less clutter in this way...

You MUST create new records to the desired location on your HARD drive.

If the files are going to be mixed between them on the root of the folder you are moving to.

There is a way to create the file as part of the process of 'Change location', but it would be better just to create the lilke files as you would any other folder, exactly where you want that they and choose when you're moving.

Just go to your user folder, right-click on the file that you want to move, select Properties, and then click the LOCATION tab.

  • Models of VM and the migration to another location

Hi, it is expected a new implementation of vSphere and VMs will be created from scratch templates.

This will be followed by a continuation of the application in another data center location. There is no connectivity between the 2 sites. Style VMs are in the region of 50 GB of storage.

The question I have is what is the best way to transfer patterns or images of computer virtual from one place to another, rather than recreating from scratch? know which tool to use. I am aware that a tool such as VMware Conveter is able to transfer VMs/images, but I don't know if it's the best way to go. What suggestions are there to save the templates in a particular format, copy on the other site, and then import them into the other area?

    Thank you

one of the easiest ways is to export to the OVF format. When in the 2nd site, all you have to do is to support on import of the FVO is all rather that reinstall the vmware converter. vsphere client "file-> Export-> Export OVF Template

    Hello

We are moving our vFoglight to a SQL Server database to another SQL (production version) server.  I changed the server/instance name in the foglight.config file to point to the new server and instance and restarted the service (and eventually rebooted as well).  However, vFoglight no longer works.  Is there another step necessary to make it work?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

It seems that the data on your local disk could be deleted.

There are other third-party apps available to recover lost or deleted from your hard drive files. I suggest you to browse internet for applications and then try to recover these files.

  • Access to the files in another folder redirection

Is it posible to do that when virtualized application wants access to C:\program files\program\somedir, the request is redirected to another path?

I have a poorly written app that stores a large amount of data in program files and it is now virtualized inside the thinstall folder, but I prefer to see if I could move the data to another location, outside thinstall.

Problem is that I can't change this path in aplicaion as is hard-coded.

What is the size of your C:\ partition?

How much space do you have?

You can be at a point where the drive with a larger replacement * is * your preferred method.

If you did the following and do not receive enough free space, you're right here.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 20 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.  All the foregoing that * your * stuff (indeed, for most of the systems Windows XP, nothing beyond 10 GB is probably your stuff) and you should consider some other containers to storage for things (photos, music, videos, etc.) you use all day on this computer (or some ties or extra storage installed so you can still use it on a daily basis without using the C:\ drive space.)

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • move the primary database files to another location

    Hi all

I move the files of my primary database to another location on the same server, but on a different drive (from f: to G :) with rename comand but file name will be the same, after you have moved the files what step I need to perfom on standby DB will have on my database pending?)

This doc is everything after you rename the primary file, I'm not rename all the files I need to just move file from one place to another without changing the file name.

I hope you know how to move files from one place to the other on the primary database. It's not just copying the files from one disk to another and then to go to the top of your database.

You rename your data files or copy it to another location, how the controlfile to know you have copied/renamed to a different location?

I guess you 1 to ask the question of how to move files to a different location in primary education and then move on standby.

    Steps to follow:
1 Hope you brought your primary database.
2 copy the datafiels to one disk to another.
    3. attach the primary database.
4 rename all data files that you moved to this control file would know the changes.
    SQL > alter rename file 'G:\oracle\user01.dbf' to 'F:\oracle\user01.dbf ';
    5. subsequently open the database.
Refer this to move data files from one place to another http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/Move_datafile_to_different_location, http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/ora/admin/move_datafiles.html

    on autonomy in standby:
    1 cancel the MRP
    2. change the db_file_name_convert to point to «F:\»... »
    3. Mount the backup database
    4. start the MRP

Hope that these steps are clear.

  • Moving a disk of the user in another data store

    Hello!

I have an office pool that is used by a few users and now I discovered, as i wan't to upgrade the user drives my Netapp file server to use snapshots on them. Is there a way to move a disc of the user to its current location on the same os drive data store was a new data store?

I know that I can put in place a new pool, but let the user discs when I do this, so this isn't an option.

Anyone know how I can keep my user records, moving them to another data store?

Currently a UDD cannot be moved the data to be backed up and restored. Alternatively, you can also turn on roaming profiles have the connection of the user in two places, once everything is in place, turn them off.

  • Error after you move the temporary data file to another location

    Hello

I do a few large trials and for this I created the tablespaces on my external hard drive. I moved the file from temporary data to my location on the hard disk by following the procedure below.

    ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  313860096 bytes

    Database mounted.
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE 'D:\app\Administrator\oradata\orcl\TEMP01.DBF' TO 'G:\KAM\TEMP01.DBF';

    Database altered.

    SQL> ALTER DATABASE OPEN;

    Database altered.
2.3 times that I closed the db, even restarted the computer, but when I ask

    SQL > select * from dba_data_files;
