Moving to win 10 with LR CC
I have to disconnect and/or LR PShop CC before moving my computer Windows 7 to 10 to win? There were occasions in the past, when I was using the stand-alone version of LR, where I had to reinstall my OS following an accident and has lost the ability to log out of LR on the previous iteration of the operating system, and therefore deemed Adobe I was connected to LR on another machine and had to disable that I couldn't do because I had reinstalled my OS on the same computer. What am I looking for similar problems with LR CC?
When I upgraded to Windows 10 I didn't disconnect from the creative cloud. I just started the upgrade. When the upgrade is complete, I found it to be business as usual. I guess it wouldn't hurt to disconnect from the creative cloud before doing the upgrade of Windows. It should be just a simple sign when the upgrade is complete.

Why Windows keep moving & hide my files with me?
original title: make him stop, please stop! Why Windows keep moving & hide my files with me?
Windows Vista using Media Player 11:
I am way in music and want to have recorded and named in a certain way. Sometimes in windows 'Explorer' I group songs into folders according to the albums I create (i.e. mixtures of burning); in this case, I'll keep the names from the same artist and change the name of the album (in properties) that I chose. As soon as I click on the folder 'Explorer' moves it somewhere, I don't think. Sometimes things end up in the trash that I know does not recycle. It also renames my files. For example, I had a song that I had saved the name of the file is: 01 History.wma; and the rest of the info has been saved in the properties (Album, artist, track number, etc.). As soon as I turn my head the computer renames it to something that looks like this: 01HistoryAtmosphereSevensTravels - UndergroundRap.wma. Why it does this and how can I stop it?

Reinstalled Win Vista with the recovery CD that I got with my HP Pavilion, now get quick activate Windows with a new product key. MS sticker on the tower is one that says 'Vista', no product key. When I go to activate Windows, I offer the choice to buy another copy of Windows or enter a new product key. A run the Genuine Advantage tool and he says it's "authentic." HP will not help, they say I have to buy another copy of Windows from MS, but I already paid for it when I bought the machine. What can I do?

Satellite Pro A10 - Win 7 with WLan PA3171U-1MPC
Hello
I have a Satellite Pro A10 with a PA3171U-1MPC Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card, 160 GB HARD drive and 1 GB of RAM, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 for my son.
He worked in XP before.
States of Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor:
"Before installing Windows 7, go to the device manufacturer's Web site to download the latest driver for this device.
After I installed Windows 7, install the sound driver. »Does anyone know if there is a driver (Windows 7) or a WinXP driver will do the job?
If Yes, where can I download a (my XP image has been corrupted, I'll do a new installation).Thank you very much
SteveHello
Firstly by Satellite Pro A10 is not Win 7 supported and therefore, you will find not all Toshiba drivers for this model of laptop. The unit is just too old.
I put t know if Win XP WLan driver compatible with Win 7. I think that it s is not compatible. Driver Vista may be compatible with Win 7, but not Win XP driver.
In the worst case, you will need to use an external USB WLan dongle to get wifi on this laptop.

1 - my battery drains very quickly in win 10 although my computer hp laptop is always around the age of 4 months, but its battery would become sucks after updated to win 10 TBH I use it a lot in the navigation, design, development, and the game but the battery was more better by winning the hole 8.1 I charge my laptop about 3 times a day! What is the deffrence between her and my mobile? : 3 I waited a lot fot an update to solve this problem but nothing! so I need to ask if I'm the only one who faced this problem and if it in any case to fix this... must reset / reinstall win 10? Thanks for reading this [content deleted] long post xD
Hi @shehabskull,
Thank you for your query.
I understand that you have upgraded to 10 Windows that you really love, but you encounter a problem with the battery only lasts only as long as when you use Windows 8. Also, you encounter a difficulty with the mode 'sleep'.
Firstly for the battery problem I test and calibrate the battery. Although the link to the document is for Windows 8 steps are the same in Windows 10.
HP laptops - test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8)
If the battery passes the verification of the material there are a few other things to try. The battery method compatible ACPI Microsoft control is basically the driver that communicates between the computer and the battery. There is a chance that it's corrupted. It is reading battery bad, so the computer thinks that the battery level is higher, while it actually is.
Step 1. Go to the Device Manager
Step 2. Select the stacks
Step 3. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
Step 4. Click on uninstall
Step 5. At the command prompt, put a checkmark in the box to remove the current driver
Step 6. Shut down the computerStep 7: Remove the battery for a minute and then put new
When the computer returns to the top it should automatically find the driver.
Step 8. Go to the Device Manager
Step 9. Select the stacks
Step 10. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
Step 11. Click "automatically search for an updated driver.Do the same thing with embedded controller compatible ACPI Microsoft.
Now for the question of sleep.
I suggest that you try to disable hybrid starting or stopping of the hybrid.
Quick start - turn on or off in Windows 10 (of tenforums.com)
Did you run HP Support Assistanthelps the acquisition of HP updates?
You did all your Windows updates?
Here is a link to Open the Windows Update troubleshooting tool that can help to find additional drivers. Although it lists Windows 7 it does not work in Windows 10.
Once launched, it should show a screen like this.
Use the second "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" option, this should lead to an update of the 'Windows updates' which cannot be automatically applied, which might fix some of these issues.
If you still want to go back to Windows 8, you will need to perform a recovery to factory.
Computers HP - performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system.
There will be an option to backup your personal data to avoid loss during the recovery process. If you have not yet saved your data, now it the time.

Thanks for everything & assists and suggestions
Hi, bb4.
I have successfully run MCE2k5 with SP3 on multiple computers (including my old desk, which got a relocation prior to sale - and he works as a fully functional Media Center); but there is a big gotcha when it comes to do a clean installation of MCE2k5:
You can just install SP3. There are a multitude of updates (both for Windows itself, as well as regards the Media Center) that must be installed before installing SP3. Made out of use, it breaks the Media Center. So, my question is the following:
At what point in the cycle of updating after installation you installed SP3?
If you wish, I can dig up my own installation guide MCE2k5/SP3 (that is tried, tested and works) and post for you.Kind regards

New SL510/Win 7 with HD WD3200BEVT: crazy clicking / LOAD_CYCLE increase
I noticed on my new Win 7 win SL510 and Levono Power Manager 3.3, the HD has produced a noise clicking every few seconds. Given that this sound usually reflects the parking of heads HDs, I looked at its SMART status and it reported a crazy number of charge cycle of more than 6500 in 50 hours of power at the time. It is about 130 an hour of charge cycles. That the HD is specified for 600,000 charge cycles, I fear that the HD will reach its specified limit after about 6 months of regular use. Sounds - noises left aside - completely inaccetable for me. What is happening with the Lenovo Power Manager? I don't want to spoil my HD...
I found the cause of the problem. It seems that it is not for lack of Lenovos but Western Digital. The WD3200BEVT has a too aggressive idle timer value 4 s (!) in the bios of HDs. This means that if there is a service running, access to HD every 10 seconds, there to park the heads every 10 seconds!
In this case, the solution is a utility named WDIdle3:
http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?GroupId=609&SID=113&lang=enStarted from a startup disk, it can be used to set the WD timeout to a higher value. I put it at 30 and load cycles went :-)

I have a desktop computer Acer, about 4 years old, running Windows XP SP2. When I started my computer, it does not boot in any mode, and I get this error message:
Windows has not start because the following file is missing or damaged:
\windows\system32\config\system
You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup cd-rom
Select 'r' in the first screen to start repair.I don't have a Setup disk and wonder if it would help in all cases. Any ideas?
You can not download configuration online info. I have a second XP computer which is supposed to have access to the configuration file in the Add/Remove Programs section, but I don't have any tab to create a disk for installation here. Do you know where he's hiding on this computer? If not, can I get a copy of this MS installation disc?
Thank youThank you
Manual steps to recover a corrupted registry that prevents the start of the procedure that this article describes to Windows XP using System Restore and Recovery Console. This article lists also all required specific steps to ensure that the process is fully completed. When you have completed this procedure, the system returns to a state very close to the State until the problem occurred. If you have ever run NTBackup and completed a system state backup, you don't have to follow the procedures in parts two and three. You can go to part IV. First part in the first part, you start the Recovery Console, create a temporary folder, back up the existing registry files to a new location, delete the registry from their existing location files and then copy the registry files in the repair folder to the System32\Config folder. When you have completed this procedure, a registry is created that you can use to start Windows XP. This registry was created and saved during the initial setup of Windows XP. Therefore, any changes and settings that took place after Setup has finished are lost.
The full, first part, follow these steps:
- Insert the diskette of starting Windows XP in the floppy drive, or insert the Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM drive and restart the computer.
Click to select all of the options required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted to do so. - When the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
- If you have a dual-boot or multiboot, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
- When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
- At the Recovery Console prompt, type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line:MD tmp
copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak
Copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bakdelete c:\windows\system32\config\system
delete c:\windows\system32\config\software
Delete c:\windows\system32\config\sam
delete c:\windows\system32\config\security
Delete c:\windows\system32\config\defaultCopy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy c:\windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
copy c:\windows\repair\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
Copy c:\windows\repair\security c:\windows\system32\config\security
Copy c:\windows\repair\default c:\windows\system32\config\default - Type exit to quit the Recovery Console. Your computer will restart.
Note This procedure assumes that Windows XP is installed in the C:\Windows folder. Make sure that replace C:\Windows with the appropriate dossier_Windows if it is a different place.
If you have access to another computer, to save time, you can copy the text in step 5, and then create a text file called "Regcopy1.txt" (for example). To use this file, run the following command when you start in Recovery Console:
batch regcopy1.txtWith the command batch to the Recovery Console, you can process all the commands in a text file in the order. When you use the batch command, you do not have to manually type as many commands. Second part to perform the procedure described in this section, you must be logged on as an administrator or an administrative user (a user who has an account in the Administrators group). If you use Windows XP Home Edition, you can connect as an administrative user. If you sign in as an administrator, you must first start Windows XP Home Edition in safe mode. To start the computer in Windows XP Home Edition in safe mode, follow these steps.
Note Print these instructions before continuing. You cannot view these instructions after you restart the computer in Mode safe. If you use the NTFS file system, also print the instructions from article KB309531 of the Knowledge Base. Step 7 contains a reference to the article.
- Click Start , click shut down (or click turn off computer ), click restart , and then click OK (or click restart ).
- Press the F8 key.
On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when you see the boot menu.
- Use the arrow keys to select the appropriate safe mode option and press ENTER.
- If you have a dual-boot or multiboot system, use the arrow keys to select the installation that you want to access, and then press ENTER.
In part two, you copy the registry of their location saved files by using the system restore. This folder is not available in the Recovery Console, and is usually not visible on the typical use. Before you begin this procedure, you must change several settings to make the folder visible:
- Start Windows Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click folder options .
- Click the view tab.
- Under hidden files and folders , select Show hidden folders and files , and then click to clear the Hide protected (recommended) operating system files check box.
- When appears in the dialog box confirming that you want to display these files, click Yes .

These files are the system restore registry files. Because you used the registry file that the Setup program created, this registry does not know that these restore points exist and are available. A new folder is created with a new GUID under System Volume Information and a restore point is created that includes a copy of the registry files that were copied during the first part. Therefore, it is important not to use the most recent folder, especially if the time stamp on the folder is the same at the moment.
The current configuration of the system is not aware of the previous restore points. You must have a previous copy of the registry to a previous restore point to make previous restore available again points.
The registry files that were copied to the Tmp folder in the C:\Windows folder are moved to ensure the files are available in the Recovery Console. You use these files to replace the registry files currently in the C:\Windows\System32\Config folder. By default, the Recovery Console has limited access to records and cannot copy the files in the File System Volume.
Note The procedure described in this section assume you are using your computer with the FAT32 file system. For more information on how to access the folder of information system with the NTFS file system Volume, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Note Some of these command lines may be wrapped for readability.
Note This procedure assumes that Windows XP is installed in the C:\Windows folder. Make sure that replace C:\Windows with the appropriate dossier_Windows if it is a different place.
If you have access to another computer, to save time, you can copy the text in step 2, and then create a text file named "Regcopy2.txt" (for example). To use this file, run the following command when you start in Recovery Console:
