• Disk utility is suddenly really, really ugly and unusable (design problem)?

• Drive letter designation problem.

  MS supports and myself work in seeing why I have Vista SP1 install problems.  I just (yesterday) to install a new copy of Vista on my HD with all the upgrades installed except for SP1 and SP2.  I intend to install so that I can get IE9.  Well, MS and I ran into a slight impasse and will pick up again tomorrow with a conference call.

• Digital Media Designer problem when loading a file?

  Hi I have a problem when I try to bring a media resource to my layout.   I believe that it is a known problem and is being implemented.

  The solution that I use is to use the icon for Media selection

  then select the media resource.

  Hey I know that design mode is not perfect, but I use it for certain things. It works very well for what I need for up to today. I have a strange problem with a DWT FGL. I have a template and start a new page as always, and as soon as I insert html elements in a div tag, design breaks completely. The divs are all screwed up. When I delete the html code it goes back to normal.

  I thought I had fixed to re-record the TPL. It worked for a bit, but he's doing the opposite. When I delete the html code, it crashes now. I have never seen anything like this before with DW. Very strange. Thanks in advance. OH... I have not reset the preferences again, I just wanted to ask first.

  

  

  SOLVED!  Two issues here. First of all understand that something must be in the tag div, otherwise it won't appear at all and will appear broken. • Genereting Multi App out In Design problem

  HelloI have designed the first issue of a new application of Multi problem.
  I tried to build the application using the App 'create' in the foliobuilder Menu.

  The App to create creates a unique-folio application even if you are a Pro Subscriber. As a Pro subscriber, you must launch DPS App Builder from the Applications folder, log in with an Adobe ID with a role of DPS App Builder and go from there.

• Table with the Kindle and generated content in e - pubs design problems

  I encountered a strange problem with e-pub files exported from 5.5 design. It's only a problem with the Kindle, but that in itself is a pretty big problem. This has to do with the way In Design creates tables of contents. As you know, the "Table of contents" function in In Design is what generates the NCX or navigation device in your e-pub. Our books, we also create a linked table of contents in the text of the book. Below is a string of code generated by In Design that shows a typical chapter opening header that is included in the NCX and also back to the table of contents links in the text. The first (toc_marker-10) id is automatically generated by the 'Table of contents' function and corresponds to the id used by the NCX. The second id (Morella) has been created by me using an anchor point and assigning a "destination of the hyperlink" which can bind an element in my table in the text of the content. Then this piece of text is a hypertext link (via as HREF) return to the table of contents page. As you can see, In Design puts the second id towards the end of the code and after the HREF that links to my table of contents page. This works very well on all the reading devices except the Kindle, which seems to become confused by the order of the elements in the code. Amazon said that because this second id comes after the HREF, the hyperlink does not appear on this text (Morella) and the connection breaks. The way around this is simple: just move the second id < an id = "Morella" / > while it comes immediately before the href tag and everything works. But that means getting into the e-pub afterwards and put away all instances of the problem. In addition, there is no consistency in order that design attributes to the elements in the present code. In some cases where the links have been created in exactly the same way, the second id appears before the HREF and the link works fine. It's just a bug or did someone knows if In Design actually uses logic to decide the order of the items below?

  It really doesn't seem like a problem of Kindle. InDesign creates an EPUB file, not a Mobi file. It is designed to create an EPUB that will pass validation.

  Creating the EPUB MOBI file is a separate issue and not something that InDesign must concern itself with.

  At this stage of development of eBook (early on), it is quite well provided you will need script or manually change some CSS and XHTML to adjust the vagaries of different devices.

• Design problem - can not do the persistable class

  Basically I have a best score of the class that implements Persistable I want to either extend SimpleSortingVector or contain private SimpleSortingVector.

  However, as SimpleSortingVector is NOT persistent, I can't make HighScore Persistable.

  I guess that means I can't as unsimple extend SimpleSortingVector and make the persistable subclassing, then how the hell do I I still my class?

  I get a similar problem with this:

  List sorting vector data and persist the vector. You can repopulate the vector sorting when you restore data.

  The problem occurred on an iPhone, but after several tries, I realized what the problem was.  The bar menu pin that scrolls upwards, then stayed there (using the effect of scrolling movement) was the problem.  Once I removed the menu bar the sensitive issue has been fixed.  Although now, I have a problem with the bar hopping every time on it.  I have another thread open for this second issue.  Thanks a lot for your answer

  After some organizational changes, we update our HFM application.

  HFM does not really well with what you're trying to do here.  It is possible... but very messy.

  As you are no doubt coming to realize, the PCA/CA will be your problem.  Those are specific magazines parent.  There is no way to have them in two hierarchies and be visible without the help of rules.

  The easiest solution is probably to write a rule that copies / translates into adjustments of the hierarchy of the main to your new USD replacing hierarchy, but depending on your application, the questions of will likely lead to a lot of translation (an adjustment that cross P & L balance sheet will be balanced in EUR, but unbalanced after translation, because it will result in two rate).  You need to make sure that calculate the difference and put it in the CTA.   Photoshop is the wrong thing to use in this situation, it creates the code horrific picture that explodes regularly.

  Simplify your DW tables (you will probably need to simplify your slices too). Spans lines and columns will cause problems.
