Mplayer2 and msdxm.ocx problem on vista 64 OS

I just installed the Vista 64 operating system.  When I try to run the old mplayer2 Windows Media Player, I get the following error:

Mplayer2.exe - Entry Point not found
The procedure entry point RunDIIW could not be located in the dynamic link library msdxm.ocx

Is there a way I can set up my system to run the old mplayer2 under Vista?  This is the version 6.4.7.117.  I like it because of the small size and easy to use.  Thank you!

Hello

Given that Windows Vista comes with the upgraded version of Windows Media Player, we cannot downgrade or uninstall the integrated version of Windows Media Player 11 for Windows Media Player 6. It is impossible to set up Windows Media Player 6 on Windows Vista. Let us know if you have a problem with Windows Media Player 11.

  • Compatibility problem with Vista and iTunes

I downloaded iTunes 9 on my Tobisha laptop Satellite last night and put about 2.5 GB of music on it. I didn't upload the music from the internet. I used MP3s, I had for a few years.

When I went to boot up the laptop this morning the loading process took some time, but it never loaded to the login screen. I just see the bottom of MicroSoft. Is there a compatibility problem with Vista and iTunes? Maybe I put too much music on my laptop?

Boot in safe mode and delete iTunes and all the music I downloaded would solve the problem? Or it is less simple than that?

Don't know where to direct this question if any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

iTunes is compatible with Vista and there should not be any problem.
Yesterday, I installed iTunes 9 on my U400 and everything happened correctly.
If your laptop can not boot Vista correctly, then you should try the repair feature.

Turn on the computer and press F8. Now you will see the advanced boot menu.
    Now, you have many choices.

As a first step, you should try the option called: last good known Configuration (Advanced)

If this will not help and the Vista will not start then try the option called repair your computer. This option displays a list of system recovery tools, you can use to repair startup problems, run diagnostics, or restore your system.

If that does not help, then you will need to retrieve the unit using the Toshiba recovery disc or HARD drive recovery.

  • I have my windows automatic update. the other day, my windows updated and Ive had problems of e-mail and online video problems. I have vista Home premium OS. any suggestions?

can receive email, but not able to send after the recent ('important') updates of windows have been installed.
also can't see videos on facebook because of the mistakes because of these updates.
I have the my windows update set to automatic and noticed these problems after an update has taken place. I did a system restore and everything worked fine. Needless to say the next day, the same thing. I even went to the windows update to manual setting, and it is always updated by itself. This made 4 consecutive days. now when I go to system restore, I don't even get the opportunity to go beyond 5 days! video errors on facebook tell me that "the video is unavailable" and "video has been deleted or is not visible because of the privacy settings. I also noticed that most installed updates are updates to windows security. and my windows update seems to be popping up constantly telling me ago over updates to install.

    Hi Unhappy72,

I'm sorry that you are still facing the same problem. I'll be more than happy to help you.

    I have a few questions:

    (a) what version of IE are you using?

    (b) has been going through the steps to reset Internet explorer?

    (c) you have any version of Flash Player on your system?

You can try to update the version of Flash Player for videos.

To do this all first you need to uninstall and then go ahead and download the latest version and install it.

To uninstall the application follow the steps given below:

    1. open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clicking programs and features.

    2. Select a program, and then click Uninstall. Some programs include the ability to modify or repair the program in addition to uninstall, but many simply offer the option uninstall. To change a program, click change or repair. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information, please visit the below given link:

    Uninstall or change a program

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

You can also check if the connection parameters are set by default.

Make follow them the steps below:

    1. open Internet Explorer.

    2. press the Alt key on your keyboard for the file menu if it is not already there.

    3. go to tools, click on Internet Options.

    4. click on the Connections tab.

    5. at the bottom of the page, it will be a local network settings tab, click on this.

    6. check if automatic detect settings is enabled in the box, if it isn't what to choose.

    7. close all Internet Explorer Windows and reopen and check if the problem persists.

This should solve your problem of not being able to send emails.

You can also try to clean boot your system and then try to play the videos. This will let us know if the background services interferes with the proper functioning of your system.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

The steps to perform a clean boot are given below:

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

Once you have disabled all services that you can check if you are able to play the videos. If so, you can try the divide and conquer method to find what service exactly the origin of the problem. For those who follow the below given link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart

Alternatively, you can try to disable the modules such that some add-ons can be a problem while browsing through the internet.

To disable the modules follow the below given steps:

    1. click on the Start button, click principally made programs, on Accessories, click System Toolsand then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

  • Vista "Local access only" and "Unidentified network" problem

Hi recently my Windows Vista Home Premium - 32-bit has had problems with the internet.

It was only said 'Local' next to the 'access' and said "Unidentified network" and used to connect me on the internet.

This problem occurs when you try to connect through an Ethernet cable to the Modem and the router and also while wireless.

I know that this is not the fault of my Modem/Router, because my laptop says this when I try to connect about internet anybodies.

Ive spent a good 3 days on this problem, looking for every website I could find searching for answers. NONE of them have worked :(

Ive done everything except Microsoft and their paying a call answer...

So if someone can help me, please and id love for it :)

Also I know people will ask ipconfig/all, but I'll wait for a response and download what the person asking. Thank you.

I will not need now, I used a program called "Connectify" on my windows 7 laptop. (connectify is a program that acts as a hotspot access point)

Somehow I was able to connect my Windows Vista computer to the internet via Connectify and I ran all the updates on my laptop with Windows Update, now I am able to connect to my router and modem without any problem.

Hope that if anyone else has this problem, they can also use Connectify to Windows 7 computers and difficulty there problems internet as I :)

  • Problem with Vista and XP computers Internet connection sharing.

I have a host computer running Windows XP service pack 3, with an of Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go modem and a laptop computer with Vista. The host computer is connected to a Microsoft MN - 700 via a CAT5 network cable. The laptop is connected via a wireless connection. I'm sharing the Broadband2Go internet connection by using Internet connection sharing. I enabled sharing on the network, on the host computer connection. But the laptop does not connect to the internet. I can ping the host of the laptop, but cannot ping the laptop computer from the host. I have tried everything I can think of, to get the job of network. He worked, until Thursday. Thursday, there is some automatic updates installed on the host computer. They have been updated for security. I don't know if updates of security would have affected the network or not. All helkp would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Oscar

It is a facility that is complicated, because the host computer and the MN-700 can act as routers and DHCP servers, making it uncertain given the laptop its TCP/IP configuration.  Here are two ways to make it work:

    • Use the MN-700 as a router: connect the host computer to the "Modem" port of the MN-700.  To do this, interface LAN of the MN - 700 must have an IP address in a different subnet from the 192.168.0.x subnet that uses ICS.  The laptop will be able to ping on the host, but the host will not be able to ping from the laptop.

    or:

    • Use the MN-700 as a point of access only, not as a router: connect to the host computer to one of the MN-700 Ethernet ports and disable the DHCP server integrated of the MN-700.  Both computers should be able to ping each other.

  • Problem with Vista hit the Satellite X 200 - 20 s

Sometimes during typing on vista, it will stutter and freeze. The time is very short. Is this a problem with vista or the laptop. The T7300 Core 2 Duo 2 ghz processor.

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro S200 and the same problem was with my camera. It s is not a hardware problem, it s more a driver related issue No. So, the best thing you can do is update your bios and keep your drivers up-to-date. Just check the download Drivers Toshiba site and make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

I had resolved my stuttering (core2duo 2.33 Ghz, 2 GB RAM) by updating all drivers...

    That's all

  • Disabling services not microsoft and startup programs for Windows Vista

I have Windows Vista on my laptop and for some reason some difficulties to install updates for Microsoft Office 2007 security. I got a microsoft support shadow person my computer and fix the problem for me. The problem is that I have to disable all non-microsoft services and first start a number of issues on my computer and I can't remember how he disabled them.

In the Start Menu search box type "run" without the quotes. In the run box type "msconfig" without the quotes. When open the System Configuration utility, click the Services tab, check the box that says "hide all Microsoft services". When Microsoft services are hidden, clear the check boxes next to the other services. Click apply and then click OK, close the System Configuration utility and restart your computer. After installing the security updates restart if necessary, and then restart the System Configuration utility, put checkmarks in the boxes unchecked, you uncheck "Hide all Microsoft services", click on apply and OK, close the System Configuration utility and restart your computer. You may have some corrupted files or a virus. You have you scanned computer viruses? I suggest that you try to create a new profile to test the problem. There is a repair option it's just called a Inplace upgrade. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927523

Until you find the resolution, take a look at these uninstall 3rd party programs. They are free.

  • How to set the printer online and keep it online in vista?

I use my laptop with vista on a network.  When I turn on the laptop sometimes printer says offline and I can't connect unless I have reinstall printer.  There is nothing wrong with my printer or a computer.  The problem is vista not reconnected to the printer.  My XP computer connects again everytime.  I read there was a fix for the problem, but can't find it to download.  I'm not sharing of printer, I connect to the printer directly via the wireless network.  The network is fine and sees the vista printer, but does not connect online

Go to the Control Panel, open Printers, click right your printer, and then click Create a shortcut. The shortcut will be placed on your desktop. Open the printer shortcut and click the printer in the menu and uncheck the use printer offline if it is checked. You can drag to the taskbar where it is no longer accessible and remove a Desktop or keep both.
