  Yes the cluster file shares are supported with SUCCESS / me.    If you think about it, SQL, Exchange are indeed a "sharing".   Because it is an NTFS volume with services that run against her.  SQL, Exchange or fileshare services.

  We have an ESXi 5.1.0 (build 1065491) host and I wanted to install a vm of Windows 2012 R2 server. Although the drop OS had only "Windows Server 2012" listed, we were still able to install a Windows 2012 R2 server. Servers seem to work very well - it's OK to have 2012R2 running on the ESXi 5.1.0 host? When we have the opportunity to upgrade to 5.5 should you change the version of the OS from 2012 to 2012R2 for this virtual machine?

  as you can see, w2k12 r2 is supported only with U2 5.0 or newer:

  Moreover, you will never see 2012 r2 as operating system for select guest. Don't know why but it of like that because 2012 probabelly and r2 are very similar and not necessary for the difference...

  I have esxi 5.5 U3 and still no option to select with 2012 r2. vpshere 6.0, it is always the same...

  We have two identical servers.  One to use as a main server, which houses two virtual machines.  The other should be used as a back up in case the main server is not somehow.  We planned on using a solution of third-party software to back up our virtual machines and launch them in the event of failure of the principal server.  However, we discovered just gave the failover clustering in Windows Server R2 2012.

  We have tried to set up a cluster 2 nodes, with our virtual machines properly replicated to the backup server.  Excited by the present, we tried then to simulate failure of the primary server (by pulling on the cable network).  We were a little disappointed to find that the backup server is not automatically run virtual machines.  We did a survey and read than a solution of two nodes requires storage space for additional network (in addition to our two servers).

  I wonder if that's okay?  In other words, a two-node failover cluster requires separate network storage space.  If this is not correct, can someone point me to a set of instructions to correctly configure a two-node failover cluster that will automatically launch the virtual machines on the server backup (in the case of a failure of the principal server).

  As I said earlier. Treat your virtual machines and physical and use the iSCSI initiator in the operating system.

  Windows 2012 is fully compatible on ESXI 5.0, IF you have the appropriate update to build 821926. Since you indicate you cannot select Windows 2012 as a BONE, I want to say that you do not have this update installed.

  In short, I don't think it is at all appropriate to run Windows 2012 on your environment without updates.

  If you apply the updates, of course, it makes sense to apply later and install update 2.

  If anyone can help with installation of the HP officejet pro 6830 drivers/software on Windows 2012.   The HP documentation says that 2012 Windows is supported, but here there are no drivers available for Windows 2012.  Windows 8.1 and 2008 drivers do not install in Windows 2012.  Any help is appreciated.

  I am new to Microsoft windows server anyway especially r2 windows 2012, actually server was there for only the Ncomputing devices, so I have messy hair with it by installing AD and Hyper - V, after seeing these functionality affect my Ncomputing environment I just remove, it took a while to restart after restart of finishing and anyway I can't my Local account and I managed to to the field again with black screen and cursor only, I have trried to find ways through google but nothing exactly, someone with a help of there idea
