MS Flight Simulator 2004 on a Satellite A100-451 & external monitor

Hello, I have an A100-451 market Vista plus a monitor external 19 "1280 * 1024. I loaded FS 2004 OK.

Has anyone here experience of use of FS on a laptop to an external display?, and what is the best way to set up 2 screens?

Thank you

KK

Hi again :)

AHM, you want to use the second screen as an extension for your cockpit? Generally, it should be possible. One of my friends has defined a complete cockpit with 3 TFT´s view on his desktop computer,
but I Don t know how it's just with two screens.

Here is a link that might give you some ideas with games on several screens:

    Hello

I have a Sat A100-451 running Vista. I want to connect an external monitor. I have a SyncMaster 913V 19 "flat screen, I have tried to connect. This worked OK, but the ratio is bad & I can't find how to change it using the menu system monitor.

I found how to switch between monitors, no problem.

The screen seems to be that led 'default' Sat A100, the nvidea driver.
Should I install the external driver of samsung moniotr (I have the disc) or if it might upset the own Toshiba screen?

    Help & advice please

    Thanks as always

    Hello

    > Should I install the driver of samsung external monitor (I have the disc) or if it might upset the own screen of Toshiba...
First of all the graphics driver is necessary and important to run and use the graphics card with maximum performance and NOT the external monitor!
I'm sure that the external monitor software was not designed to run the graphics card but to activate and control some options of the external monitor.

Anyway, you can try to install this software rendering, but you must understand that this software will not replace the graphics driver installed nVidia of Toshiba.

    Hello!

For your first problem, I think that the AC/DC adapter is faulty or it s a motherboard problem.
This should be checked by a technician for laptop.
I put t know what OS you use, but you can try to use the driver from the Intel Web site.
There should be a more recent version available:

    Hi gia76,

What operating system is installed on your computer?

This problem can occur if the game configured display settings are incompatible with the computer screen.

  • MSFT Flight Simulator 2004

I want to run Flight Simulator 2004 on my laptop. The game requires Windows XP and has relatively modest processor, storage and video requirements by today's standards, so I guess that my laptop is up to the task. I have a 64 bit Lenovo X140e (may 2013 or 2014 model with certainly enough computing power and storage to run FS 2004). He currently runs Windows 10.

My plan is to partition my hard drive to install Windows XP or Windows 7 to launch FS 2004 on that partition, with 10 windows on the other partition my new programs running.  My questions:

Stupid project? If so, why, and is there a better way to accomplish what I'm doing?

A post previous re: FS 2004 has indicated that it is necessary to determine if my FS 32-bit version or a 64-bit. How do I know if my version of FS is 32-bit or 64-bit? It does not say on the package or inserts, and since I can't get the game to run, I paint a white.  FS2004 made even in a 64-bit version?

I'd be better to just buy an old computer with Windows XP or Win 7? (I heard that Windows 7 can run Windows XP games). Thank you

There is a problem (at least) two with your plan.

You will find it difficult to get a legitimate copy of Windows XP or Windows 7.

Even if you find or you already have a retail copy of one, it seems that Lenovo offers not all drivers for Windows XP.  It seems that there are Windows 7 drivers: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-X140e?tabName=Downloads&linkTrack=Mast:SubNav:Support:Drivers % 20and % 20Software | drivers % 20and % 20Software & beta = false

If I were you, I would buy a used computer with Windows XP installed.  Just make sure you get one with a decent video card and enough RAM.  I suspect XP used computers that you will find many companies that had no interest in capacity chart game

If you manage to find a copy of Windows 7 Professional, or buy a computer with Windows 7 Pro already installed (probably about the same price), you can download the Microsoft XP Mode (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8002) and install FS 2004 in the virtual machine.  There is, however, no guarantee that XP Mode works for FS.  Microsoft offers XP Mode for businesses that want to upgrade to Windows 7, but still had management software requires XP.  A decent graphics card was not a problem, and the virtual graphics card in XP Mode is a map of "S3 Trio 32/64" SVGA: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/833144

  • Flight Simulator 2004 - how to copy 'disc 4.

I have Flight Simulator 2004 that I recently installed on an old laptop running Win XP for the use of my grandson.  The program requires disk #4 must be installed in the drive so that the program to run.  I would like to make a copy of disk #4 to prevent potential damage on the original drive, but the drive seems to be protected against copying.  Is it possible to make a copy of this disc?  I have no interest in copying the rest of the disks.  I can be contacted at the following address if you have an answer.

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

    Thank you

Flight Simulator can be downloaded for free from microsoft, however his total

size MB is just enough so that it does not fit on a cd. Why not just download & install.

flight simulator 2010 or later, is also a free installation...

  • flight simulator 2004 brake problem

I posted a brake problem, indicating that the brakes have remained on after several recovery re-installation of Flight Simulator 2004 but I still have the problem even after installation of Flight Simulator X or facility the earlier 2002. I have tried everything I can think so in the game, but without success. I thought it might be a problem in the registry. I went into regedit and impossible to locate any file associated with Flight Simulator. I don't know where else to look at. I suspect that there may be some files on the system that keeps loading after each installation, but I don't know what it would be. It takes so long to install the game every time I pretty much gave up. Help!

    Hi DavidLaing,

    Method 1

I suggest that you create a new user account and check if the problem persists.

How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/279783

If the problem does not persist in the new user account and the old account is damaged and needs replaced.

How to copy data from a corrupted to a new profile in Windows XP user profile

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811151

    Method 2

If the problem persists in the new user account and then try s different keyboard or input device.

    Method 3

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 required administrator rights

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (I know, I know) and when I try to run it from a limited account, I get an error stating that I have administrator privileges. Is it possible to replace that or enter my password once? I don't need my children asking me my password every time they want to play. It doesn't seem like it does all what changes the computer, why can't it be used in a user account only limited?

    Specifications of the computer:

    • HP (not sure of the exact model number)
    • Windows XP SP3 (fully updated)
    • AMD Athlon X 2 Dual Core 4400 + @2.19 Ghz
    • 1 GB OF RAM
    • Graphic ATI Express 200 Radon

I don't mind enter my password once to grant access, I'm not only you have to enter it every time my kids want to play. Thank you for your help.

    This is normal.

As a work around, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the shortcut or the name of the program file.
    2. Click Advanced, click run with different credentials, and then click OK.
    3. Start the program.
    4. When you are prompted, type an administrator user ID and password.

  • Flight Simulator 2004 install not on Windows XP

I can't install Flight simulator 2004 on Windows XP. The drive I have is not recognized by the computer.

The disc scratched or damaged? In addition, other drives do not work as expected?

If you can see the disc when it appears in my computer, but the problem is when installing, I would suggest the click with the right button on the drive, click Explore, and the tree of files should open all files on this disk. Drag them to a folder on the desktop and run the installer from there.
