MS Office 2013 missing EXE files

I just installed a Seagate Backup (purchased from Dell) Plus drive on my XPS 8.1 Win system.  Installed SW of backup supplied with the player.

Now I can't open MS Office 2013 applications (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint), but no problem with any other application installed on the PC.

Location of the file checked programs icons to point to and .exe files are missing! (FYI, this is c: Program Files > Microsoft Office 15 > root > office 15 > OUTLOOK.) EXE, etc.)

Now that I think of it, I had a Windows Installer update automatically yesterday, which may have caused the problem.

Someone at - he saw this problem, and is my only solution to reinstall the applications?  I don't like this major corruption occur for unknown reasons.  Who knows what else is hidden here?

Thanks, Nadine,.

I just went ahead and reinstalled Office, which worked well.  Not know what caused the problem; the mod only SW was the update of windows. Solving the problems of Update site corrected MS 2 'mistakes' in the previous version. No idea why, but everything clear now.

  • Qosmio F20-153 - ntoskrnl.exe file missing

    Hello

I have an almost 5 year old toshiba Qosmio F20-153, which has developed an error with the Windows message root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file is missing.
I wonder if it's fixable without completely re - install the complete operating system that I still have the Toshiba restore disk.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

In my view, your only option is recovering the entire notebook. The Toshiba Recovery disk only contains an image of factory settings, which means that you can t install this single file of this disc.
In addition it s a good idea to reinstall Windows from time to time. If your installation is already 5 years old, you should do this. You will be surprised with the speed of your laptop is after that. :)

Use the recovery disk is quite simple: you must boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. You do a few clicks only and that s it!

  • the csrss.exe file is missing

I was downloading addons for a game on the internet and then later the next time I turned on my computer, it said I was missing the csrss.exe file and so I searched for it looking to see if I somehow accidentally moved and he didn't so I was wondering if there is anyway I might get this file without reformat my computer and reinstall windows xp

How can I get a new file csrss.exe

This confirms my suspicions you have (or had) malware. This version of csrss.exe is for service Pack 2 of Windows XP.
You really need to run MBAM.
But despite this, if you run at the SP2 level, it is unclear what might make its way onto your PC. There are some out there extremely difficult to detect rootkits. You find you might need to perform a clean installation. If you would rather fight infection, you can always look for guided help:

I have problems with the sound on my PC (i.e., no noise at all).  He told me that the Sndvol32.exe file is missing.  I went through the 'fix - it' and the solution is to extract the file from the Windows XP CD.  My PC did not come with it - otherwise, how can I get this file?  Thanks in advance!

Most of the people do not have a genuine XP bootable CD.   This is good advice if you have a true bootbale CD, but given that the majority of people have never seen one in their life, why start there?  That's why this kind of troubleshooting tips kill me...

The fix it will not help you.

    This will help you:

I downloaded a copy of the file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

You have to put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

Of course the file must never be missing, so something has badly haywire.

If the system is working properly, what do you think has happened since the last time, that he did not work properly?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

No matter what you use for the antivirus/antimalware protection, I followed with some other respectable malware scanners, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.
  • How to back up and restore Office 2013 product key or registration / activation file

Warning:  I posted this on Microsoft several 'community support Sites' and if I have yet to have a real Microsoft tech support address the question of the MAN, several 'MVP', but nobody has yet come with an entirely feasible answer, although they tried. One of the guys who posted something (after that I showed him proof that there is such a thing as a Dell OEM version supplied to MS Office Home & Business 2013 - originally, there was no such animal) was that I should "go back to Dell and ask them" so here I am. My original message is copied and pasted below...

I myself have read almost blind in the last 3 days and several hours now and I still cannot get to a definitive answer so I'll rephrase the question: How can I be save the Home Office & Business 2013 'activation file"(or token) or discover and extract the full product key for it?  After that I upgraded my Windows 8.1 Professional (32-bit) Dell to win 10 Pro I had horrible crash problems. It is obvious that I have to reformat and start from scratch. I managed to get the 10 Pro Windows product key using the latest version of Belarc Advisor but I'm hit a brick wall on my installation of Office Home & Business 2013. Not only is the Dell OEM version but I had to go through Microsoft once to get a new (replacement) product because of a problem earlier, key and since it is the OEM version there is no trace of it on "my account / Office products ' Microsoft page. apparently if you don't buy the commercial version, the product key is not registered there (but it is fully registered and operational, of course). Per this Microsoft article https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Find-your-Office-product-key-after-installation-026bc81b-6b2f-4052-b433-f41e6cc31c5a?CorrelationId=ca7068f2-6a47-4d71-942c-10591d4b00ec&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US and the Belarc program I can (and subsequently have) found the last 5 characters of the Key but that's not going to do me any good after the re-install unless I have the rest of them. I also tried all the other "key finder" programs suggested in countless other articles and none of them can find the key to the Office Home & Business 2013, or I couldn't do it in hacking / record research.  Simply, I can't believe that Microsoft has not made a provision for backup then restore a specific file "token" with the necessary info in it or extract the necessary key Code so that the Bureau could be reinstalled in the current scenario.  If all goes well a MS employee or some other Expert of the Office can provide concrete information, step by steps on how to do it.  Thanks in advance.

I sincerely hope that the other guys on the Microsoft Forums sent me in the right direction here; as the pesky Key Code for office 2013 has got to be stored in an accessible location (it is not on any Microsoft server that is accessible by our end users, that's for sure) and there must be some program or methodology around there to recover and decode the thing so it may be reinstated when the program is reinstalled...

Desktop licenses Dell would have came on a map of MPI:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Office/Microsoft-product-identity-MPI-card/

    http://www.Dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN155139/en

This is the only place you will get your key. Finders key as Advisor of Berlarc do not give the full product key 25 digits unlike Office 2010 and earlier versions.

Main finders are useless for Windows 10 family as the free update uses based device activation and key finders will signal a generic product key. See here:

That said, the best way to solve this problem is to use a flash (USB drive) drive or other removable media to download and run the file on the link I gave you. However, if you do not have access to removable media, you can try to manually reassociate the executables.

CTRL-ALT-DEL and open Task Manager.  Once there, click file, and then hold down the CTRL key and click New task (run).  This will open a command prompt window. On the command line type assoc.exe = exefile > press ENTER. You should receive a prompt action succeeded.

Looks like your shortcuts can have been so separated. On the command line type assoc.lnk = lnkfile > press ENTER.
