MS - (Win8.1) your processor does not support PrefetchW?

OK, in 2012, many windows users have been attracted to try the new Windows 8.

on a desktop Dell Pentium 4 2005, I installed windows8 pro x 64.

and it has worked pretty well so far.

now in 2014, I hear it takes to continue to support an upgrade to Windows 8.1?

the problem is that Microsoft has added new restrictions of hardware to Windows 8.1?

both single-core and even some dual-core PC that turns Windows 8 successfully.

they are now locked this mandatory upgrade for Windows 8.1?

Here is my screenshot after trying to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

as you can see my CPU does not support the "PrefetchW?

There are no updates latest BIOS for this motherboard from 2005.

This system supports Windows 8 with no problems.

It's only "PrefetchW" which is lacking.

all required components are there,

so my question is this?

What is the "end of support Drop-Dead?

for those of us who "can not put" because of "these new restrictions of material.

at this Microsoft link.

http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/lifecycle-Windows81-FAQ

It is said: " Why do you require Windows 8 customers switch to Windows 8.1". ".

and this statement is made.

"Windows 8.1 does not any hardware requirements compared to Windows 7 or Windows 8".

of course, this statement by Microsoft is in error?

This particular PC currently dual-boots Windows 7 Ultimate edition and Windows 8 pro.

None of these 2 Windows OS need "PrefetchW.

but I know that this requirement will not change.

Once again what is the 'final date' that Windows 8 will receive support.

on a system where Microsoft prevented any future updated.

Thank you.

The 'Official' date posted the C/net awhile back was in January 2016, or upgrade you to Windows 8.1 by then or not many updates to security. so by then you'll have to upgrade or lose these monthly updates.

You can add a 64-bit host to a virtualized session of ESXi. The ability of VT is not transmitted to a guest operating system.

  • Error starting data recovery - "your CPU does not support long mode.

    Hello

When I turn on the VM data recovery, and after that he begins the boot process, it displays a message "your CPU does not support long mode. Use a 32-bit distribution"

Data recovery is installed on an ESX 4.0 update1 then the ESX is installed on a VMware Workstation 6.5.2 as a virtual machine in my home test environment.

My processor is a 64 bit CPU (AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core).

I wonder if this message is because the ESX is running in a virtual machine on the workstation may be that it not only Duke that the processor is a 64-bit?

Someone at - he of the idea?

    Thank you

You can run the 64-bit if clients your ESX is a virtual machine. VMware Workstation does not pass through the VT extensions that are necessary for the performance of a 64-bit as VDR host.

You may need to test if:

    (a) you run a review of 'good' (in terms of supported 64-bit comments) CPU (for example, several AMD chips have been officially ranked 'not kosher' VMware because of the inadequate support of segmentation) - see http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=1901 for more details.

    (b) AMD - V / Pacifica (VT if it is an Intel CPU) is not disabled in the BIOS of the computer.

  • Impossible to pass to windows 8.1 because my processor does not support

OK so I have windows installed on my dell OptiPlex 745 8.1, I uninstalled so I could go to a 64 bit OS. Now it won't let me not reinstall windows 8.1 and says "sorry you can not install the patch because it is not supported by your CPU" I have 8.1 installed before.

Even if your computer's processor is capable of 64-bit, it does not support some Extensions in order to install 64-bit Windows 8.1.

What are the EAP, NXand SSE2? - Windows help

If it does not support these extensions, a BIOS upgrade may be required to activate the support.

In some cases, you might be stuck with Windows 8.1 32-bit unfortunately.

  • What does that mean? -This problem occurred because your graphics card does not support the required version of DirectX. This version of Windows requires a DirectX 9.0 compatible video card or newer.

I tried viewing a presentation power point and got to page 2 and my computer crashed.  Thought on... what he did previously trying to display a PPP file, but I thought that it was not my computer to the actual file.  now I have my doubts and also this time an error message came that said... This problem occurred because your graphics card does not support the required version of DirectX. This version of Windows requires a DirectX 9.0 compatible video card or newer.  can someone tell me what I should do next?

You left out which version of DirectX has been shown.

As far as I know, your Intel 945GM should support DirectX 9 and because you have XP sp3, you must have at least DirectX 9 installed.

I met the following, but it shouldn't apply to Powerpoint:

Some such as the Intel 945 GM Intel video cards have a design limitation which may cause problems when you try to run the Source Engine games. 3D graphics kernel does not support transformation of material, light and the vertex shader to similar technologies, which is an important part of the pipeline of 3D acceleration. Instead, this functionality is emulated in software that can reduce the compatibility and performance with 3D games.

I don't have a solution for you (assuming that DXDIAG, in fact, reports to have DirectX 9 or higher).  You can see if you install a new driver support, but if it were me, I would be first contact Acer technical support or ask your question in another forum as one of the following conditions:

    Intel graphics Forum: http://communities.intel.com/community/tech/graphics
Forum PowerPoint: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/powerpoint (select the corresponding forum for your version of Powerpoint).  Include the results of DxDiag, including the version of DirectX.  If there is something unusual about the image that causes the crash, include this info as well.

Normally, for notebook/laptop computer, it is better to get the drivers of the mfr of computer rather than the manufacturer of the device.

Acer drivers for your computer are here: http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=535 (you want the Intel VGA for XP driver)

Intel has a newer driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Internet+Devices&ProductLine=Netbooks&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+945GM+Express+Chipset+Family
It's the main Intel support page: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/graphics/945gm

    Hi Yagimc,

What is the model of the graphics card?

To play SIM 3, the graphic card must meet the following requirements:

DirectX 9 compatible .0c card with 128 MB RAM (NVIDIA FX 5900/ATI 9500 or better) and support for Pixel Shader 2.0.

You can contact Intel support to check if your graphics card supports the above features.
